"Adam!"

Adam's mind gradually stabilized, and after a few minutes filtering through all his knowledge, he finally took the time to sit on the couch in his living room and think about everything.

He was Adam, the father of humanity, the one made in God's likeness... But he was also Adam Beckett, a seasoned military officer accustomed to the hostile environment of war.

These two essences had merged into one person. His experiences, his way of thinking, his personality—all these aspects fused like nebulae meeting in the vastness of space.

Forming something new, something greater.

He carried the soul of these two men, but he was neither of them... This gave him a strange feeling, reminding him of the moment he first opened his eyes in Eden.

He was lost, unsure of who or what he was.

But the information quickly came together like pieces of a puzzle—the realization of his name, his essence, and his purpose.

Simply, Adam.

That was who he was, a new man ready to uncover the secrets of this strange world where fiction collided with reality.

This strange world...

"Gods, angels, demons, dragons... So fascinating," he muttered with a small, excited smile as he ran his hand through his silky hair, a curiosity welling up from the essence of the man who had never experienced such phenomena.

As someone condemned to wander the earth, he had lived for more than 10,000 years and witnessed many things that could be considered inexplicable.

But lost in his path of vengeance, he spent much of his life pursuing the original Lucifer, caring little about the world around him.

It was during the final days of the great war that he finally had a chance to take revenge...

Yet, despite his deepest desire, his inability to die due to physiological constraints was the only thing that set him apart from an ordinary human. Expelled from Eden, he lost all of God's support, and his full potential was "sealed" by the divine.

After millennia of constant battles, he accumulated experience that would easily place him at the pinnacle of humanity, but that was all... Even facing a low-ranking demon was problematic if he wasn't careful.

Thus, getting close to Lucifer or any of the four great Satans would have been more than enough to eradicate him.

This deeply irritated and disheartened him during the war.

Fortunately, even without his direct help, Lucifer ended up dead, along with most of his followers. However, this did not signify a total victory for the forces of light.

Because God had also died.

But that brought Adam no joy...

All he had ever wanted was Lucifer's death, and he didn't care what it took to achieve it. Yet even so, the emptiness in his chest did not disappear.

Because, in the end, he was alone.

His beautiful and kind wife had been dead for millennia, along with his sons Abel and Seth. Cain's fate was unknown, as he had departed far away after being beaten by Adam, never saying goodbye.

In truth, to say emptiness was the only thing he felt would be a lie, for amidst it all, one emotion remained...

Regret.

Adam regretted many things, so many that he could spend ages listing them.

It was this dissatisfaction and regret that led him to isolate himself after the war's end.

For centuries, he wandered and wandered. He witnessed human wars, cities being built, cities being destroyed, peace being established, and mankind reaching the moon...

But not once did he feel even the faintest flicker of life's fire burn within him.

He realized that, in the end, he was merely a spectator, destined to follow his descendants' steps into the future while being forgotten...

The king of humanity, made in God's likeness? At this point, Adam felt like a complete failure. It was no wonder he had been abandoned by his creator.

His greatest achievement in centuries after the war was finally buying a small house in the Nerima district after traveling to Japan, where he could isolate himself entirely for a few more decades.

Thankfully, just a few years after that, he ended up in his current situation.

And to be honest...

'I feel like things will get much better now...'

The melancholy of the old Adam still lingered a bit, but the desire to explore this world and embrace a second chance engulfed that void like a massive tsunami.

He was a new Adam, and he wouldn't allow his potential to continue being wasted.

This world of divine beings and creatures with incomprehensible power—he wanted to explore it!

"!"

Standing up from the couch, confusion filled his face as he felt his legs give way beneath him.

'Ah, right... Even though I won't die from hunger, my body still seems to have weakened,' he realized. With some effort, he stood up, glancing down to see himself wearing simple clothes. 'What a terrible smell!'

The moment he realized he'd likely been wearing the same clothes for years, he immediately took them off and threw them into the washing machine.

Though the old Adam had only wanted a place to isolate himself, the house he'd bought thankfully came furnished. If not for the thick layer of accumulated dust, it looked like any ordinary small house.

A bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen—a perfect home for a solitary man like him.

'Alright…' His eyes wandered around the dusty room, and even standing completely naked, he didn't seem embarrassed. 'Time to get to work.'

Cracking his fingers, his eyes shone with a newfound determination, an expression never seen on the old Adam... Especially as he prepared to undertake the greatest cleaning of his life.

"..."

Outside the house, a trio of children was returning from school when the noise from inside caught their attention, causing them to stop immediately.

"Hey…"

The reason? Obviously, it was the sounds of furniture being dragged—something entirely unprecedented for them, as they had known this strange abandoned house since they were born.

"Wasn't this house abandoned…?" one of them asked incredulously, their eyes darting toward the window.

"I remember my mom saying she's never seen anyone go in or out of it."

"Guys... C-C-Could it be a ghost?"

The third child in the group spoke with a hint of fear, prompting the other two to turn to him with skepticism.

"Ghosts don't exist, man."

"What's next? Are you going to tell me you believe in dragons too?"

"Dragons don't exist?"

"…"

They stared at each other for a few seconds before the other two sighed in resignation.

Bam!

But just as they were about to refocus on the seemingly abandoned house, a loud thud startled them.

"Uh?"

While the third child seemed terrified, the other two continued to watch silently, curious about what could be making the noise.

"I think it's some animal... Maybe a bird—"

But as they debated what it could actually be, the first boy froze as two blue orbs appeared at the window. His eyes widened, and his complexion turned pale with terror.

"G-G-G-Ghos—"

"Ghos? Ghos what?" the second child asked, confused, as he followed his friend's gaze toward the window.

"Ghost!!!"

!

As soon as the second child saw the two blue orbs, his blood ran cold, and without waiting for a signal, he bolted away in terror. His friends, equally frightened, followed him in a desperate race to distance themselves from the haunted house.

"...Uh?"

Adam, who was dragging furniture around to clean the floor, blinked in confusion as he turned to the window, his gaze wandering outside for a few moments before shrugging. I thought I heard something.

Resuming his cleaning, he resisted further distractions, determined to finish everything by the end of the day.

.

After putting on his freshly washed clothes, dried by a fan, Adam took a deep breath, smiling in satisfaction. Much better.

He observed his spotless living room and, turning toward the bathroom, caught the scent of cleaning products, which made him nod to himself.

After spending the entire day cleaning, he reaped the reward of a house that looked brand new, free from even the slightest trace of dust.

Military discipline had its purpose.

But after finishing, he found himself in a tricky, albeit expected, situation given his circumstances.

He didn't have a single grain of food in the fridge. Not even a crumb of stale bread...

And to make matters worse, he had no phone or money!

What a complicated situation…

He sighed and sat on the couch, filtering through his countless memories in an attempt to figure out how he had even managed to buy this house.

There are so many memories that even with the mental palace technique I learned in Greece, I can't sift through them quickly… He rubbed his chin impatiently, focusing his mind for a full minute.

"!"

When realization struck, he sprang from the couch and grabbed a cushion, lifting it to reveal a large stash of money—yen and various other currencies from different regions.

"Oh, right…" He smiled. "There must be about two million yen here... At least, I hope so."

He spoke with a hint of apprehension, knowing there was a chance the bills might have deteriorated over time.

"Well, at least it should be enough for some groceries."

"..."

As the night sky began to blanket the city, Adam, eagerly preparing to go shopping, remained oblivious to a shadowy figure watching his house. Violet eyes glowed in the darkness, radiating malice from a concealed spot where Adam couldn't see.

The figure spread a pair of massive black wings that blended seamlessly with the night. With a dangerous smile on her lips, she disappeared into a silent flight.

"..."

Adam, having just stepped out of his house, narrowed his eyes as a strange sensation swept over him.

What was that? His instincts flared, and although he couldn't detect any trace of a hostile presence nearby, he decided to head toward the nearest convenience store with heightened vigilance. This feeling... I've felt it before.

His suspicion grew, but when he arrived at the store without encountering anything unusual, he shrugged it off—though he remained alert.

As a precaution, I'll keep my eyes wide open.
