Chapter 11 - Shackles

Inside the bathroom, Akira splashed water on his face. Trying to comprehend what that dream was.

If it even was a dream, it felt more like it was a part he had forgotten about himself.

"What the hell is going on!?" he shouted, staring at his own reflection inside the mirror.

He stood there for who knows how long, not moving and just staring into his own eyes.

After calming himself down, he ate breakfast in the hotel lounge and went outside to clear his head. He looked at his phone to see if Paolo had sent him a message, but nothing came up.

So he strolled through Rome, dodging the busy places; he needed time to think and digest everything he had dreamed about.

Even though the dream was way too fragmented to figure anything out, he felt like it told a story. The events went from toddler to a young boy around thirteen years old.

If it was his past, it would make sense, being fifteen years old. Right now he did not know anything about his past.

His parents had told him he was in an accident and lost all his memories, but it looks like that was not the case.

When he returned to Japan, he had to find out who he was. He was going to pressure his parents to tell him everything, even if his past was traumatic; he needed to know.

Wandering around Rome, he kept walking in random directions, not caring about anything and contemplating what to do next.

Waiting for the other campione might be too slow; he wanted answers and fast.

"What to do?" he muttered, scratching his head. He had all this power but felt like he was wasting its potential by fighting without a proper trainer or mentor.

But it wasn't like he could ask anyone to train him. While he was deep in thought walking through the city, he didn't even realize that something had changed.

A beautiful woman seated on a carriage being drawn by two large cats was quietly observing him, a look of pure rage on her face, which still hadn't healed after taking a hit from Akira's hellfire.

"Found you," she said, insanity visible in her eyes. Before Akira could react, she raised her hand. In an instant, hundreds of thousands of valkyries filled the skies. Draped in a feathered cloak, she gazed down at him with merciless eyes.

She started drawing glowing runes in the air, each rune burning with divine fire. As she slams her hand forward, the runes explode outward, forming a storm of burning golden chains that rush straight for Akira.

"Hmm?!?" While deep in thought, Akira suddenly felt a violent burst of something; turning his head sharply, he saw Freya floating not far from him.

And the hundreds of golden burning chains that were rushing toward him—he tried to dodge, but it was too late; all the chains bound him.

He was stuck in place with golden burning chains on his whole body and thousands of valkyries surrounding him.

Freya's lips curled into a smirk, but her eyes burned with pure hatred. This time, there would be no mercy.

Drawing another pair of runes in the sky, but this time they looked beautiful instead of burning with oppressive power, these runes emitted gentle colors and calmed the mind.

With a smirk, she snapped her finger, and the runes exploded, and a small rainbow-colored worm flew straight at Akira's forehead.

Who tried to dodge or even muster a tiny ounce of power, but the burning golden chains were sealing his authorities and magic power.

Which made it so Akira could only watch as the rainbow-colored worm drilled into his brain and exploded, knocking him unconscious.

Freya took a seat on one of the cat's backs and, with a charming smile, kept her eyes glued on Akira, whose body was left standing because of the chains that bound him.

Inside his brain, the same fragments that he had seen in his dream kept playing in his mind, and all he could do was suffer through it. The cycle repeated itself hundreds of thousands of times, all within an instant.

His mind was almost ready to completely shatter when suddenly his eyes turned crimson and he just stood there, looking at the fragmented dream as it kept playing.

"What is this?" he muttered to himself; his earlier suffering seemed like a lie.

At this moment he was unaffected by anything, and his authorities were unsealed. But he was going to stay here for a while to try and figure anything out.

He desperately needed answers about himself and that black crown; it appeared when he was about to break through the dream.

As if saying he needed to go through the whole experience, and after going through it hundreds of thousands of times in an instant, he felt like he understood why.

"I'm sure those are my memories, or at least fragments of my memories." Akira concluded, looking at the black crown that kept appearing in every iteration of the dream.

When he saw it, he was reminded of his third authority, Hell's Dominion, for some reason.

"It feels like that aura comes from hell," he muttered.

"It seems I'll need to go back there and find the owner of this black crown." After saying that, he turned around and looked at Freya.

Who was still seated on the back of the large cat and the hundreds of thousands of valkyries that surrounded his body?

His crimson eyes turned cold, and with a single swing of his arm, all the chains evaporated and the rainbow-colored worm exploded.

Opening his eyes again, he looked around at the stunned gazes of Freya and all the valkyries with a smirk.

"Get ready to die!" he shouted as hundreds of thousands of demonic gates appeared around the valkyries.

He was not going to hold back anymore either; if he could finish her off right now, he could immediately after head back home and get the answers he wanted.

With Akira as the center, thousands upon thousands of gallons of water appeared, transforming the entire God's Dimension into a sea.
