After eating breakfast, he left the hotel to clear his mind; all the new information was overwhelming. But as soon as he stepped out of the hotel lobby, he was greeted by three people. He recognized two of them, Paolo and Valentina; the last person had spiky short blonde hair and blue eyes and was wearing casual clothes.
Akira eyed the man suspiciously, feeling some sort of threat, like he was facing Freya. "Who are you?" he inquired.
The man smiled. "You don't know who I am while you ask for my assistance?" Doni casually stated.
Then Paolo bowed. "He is a Godslayer as well, Lord Doni Salvatore," he introduced.
"I'm Akira, nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand.
And after exchanging a firm handshake, they quickly stepped into the car Paolo had prepared. "We'll go to the headquarters to find Freya as fast as possible," he explained.
Because Akira urgently wanted to return home, they wouldn't waste any time and would get right to the point.
Valentina sat in the front seat while Akira and Doni sat next to him. With a casual smile on his face.
"So, Akira, how do you want to go about it?" Doni casually asked.
"I just want to have her gone. If we can't kill her within a couple of days, I will just board a plane, and those people will have to deal with the consequences. I've lost enough time already," Akira declared, clenching his fists.
Paolo started sweating profusely after hearing Akira's declaration, while Valentina just glared at him through the rearview mirror.
Doni, on the other hand, just kept smiling, not showing any reaction, and just like that, they quickly arrived at the headquarters where lots of people were running around doing this and that.
Paolo and Valentina, followed by the two Campione, quickly went inside and went to Paolo's office. Once inside, Akira and Doni each took a seat opposite each other.
"Valentina, go and get refreshments," Paolo sternly said, leaving no room for rebuttals.
Hearing that, Valentina left the room, stomping her feet, and glared at her older brother but still went to get them.
Once she left the room, Paolo's atmosphere shifted. "Akira, did you fight Freya once more after we tried to contact Lord Salvatore?" Paolo inquired.
"That's right, and I almost had her. But she fled," Akira nonchalantly replied, clenching his fist tightly.
Paolo and Doni both raised an eyebrow at his statement. "Impressive cornering of one of the stronger Norse gods after recently becoming a campione," Doni said, clapping his hands.
Paolo, on the other hand, had to reassess his earlier evaluation he had of Akira; if even Lord Salvatore was impressed, it means he must have the potential to hunt more gods and become a force to be reckoned with.
Akira looked at both of them. "What I need help with is locating her and then making sure she doesn't escape." He started, then turning his gaze toward Doni. "Can you make sure she doesn't escape?"
"You're asking me to just make sure she doesn't flee? That's it?" Doni asked; he wanted to be sure he had heard Akira properly.
Akira just nodded. "That's right. Can you do it or not?"
Paolo saw the whole world spin in front of his eyes; this newbie campione was basically commanding the Doni Salvatore. A veteran and well-known campione, just as he was about to start apologizing for Akira's rudeness.
Doni burst out laughing, "Hahaha." He held his sides tightly, and only after a while did he recompose himself.
Now with a sharp look in his eyes, he looked straight at Akira. "And why the hell would I do that for you? I don't even know you," he stated, leaning back.
While he kept his eyes peeled on Akira, at first he had just come on this trip because he heard a new heretic god had appeared, and he would've loved to fight her, but now it seems this trip was worth it.
After all, he had found a very interesting person. Or, well, Godslayer.
"I'll fight with you whenever you want, then. After I delivered my grandma's medicine at home," Akira casually stated.
Doni looked dumbfounded, and Paolo froze, the both of them narrowing their eyes.
"Oi, Paolo, are you sure he is a new campione?" Doni inquired, looking at the now sweating Paolo.
"Uh, yes. Well, he didn't know anything about any of the supernatural world. And… he was fighting like an absolute amateur in the beginning," Paolo stammered, searching for the correct words.
He couldn't be careless now, or else the consequences would be unimaginable.
Then Doni looked at Akira, "And why would you say that? Is that something I would want?"
Akira shrugged; the quiet pressure Doni was emitting was nothing compared to those five demons. "You look like someone who enjoys a good fight," he stated.
Then Doni started laughing uncontrollably once more, as he almost fell out of his chair.
"It seems I've been completely seen through, read like a book, huh? Fine, you've got yourself a deal," Doni said, extending his hand.
And after a firm handshake, the deal was sealed as both of them looked at Paolo; he was dumbfounded. 'He got Lord Salvatore to agree with him that easily?' he thought.
"We will be able to find her soon. Please just relax for a moment and drink and eat the refreshments Valentina will bring," Paolo said, taking a seat at his desk.
They had to work fast now, firstly because of what Akira had declared earlier about just flying back home if she wasn't killed within a couple of days and because of Lord Salvatore now as well. If they did not find her fast enough, the deal might be off.
Which would leave both Campiones dissatisfied, and they could wipe out the whole organization.
Two knocks were suddenly heard, and Valentina entered the room holding a tray with a teapot and some cookies on it.
Behind her, another girl with long blonde hair and big blue eyes, wearing an elegant red dress, entered the room as well.
When Paolo saw the girl, his eyes widened for a while, and he quickly stood up and ran toward her.
