After nightfall, Rias and Akeno arrived at Renji's house, carrying an impressive amount of luggage.
"Rias, Akeno… what's all this?"
Renji raised an eyebrow as he watched them step out of the teleportation circle, their arms full of suitcases.
"Obviously, we're moving in," Rias replied nonchalantly, flipping her crimson hair over her shoulder.
"As your fiancée, it's only natural for me to live by your side. And, of course, I also need to keep an eye on you," she added with a smirk.
Akeno chuckled. "Can't have you getting too cozy with Koneko-chan and Asia, after all. Supervision is necessary."
Rias nodded. "That's why from now on, the headquarters of the Occult Research Club will be based here."
Renji sighed. "…And my house just got hijacked."
"Not quite," Rias corrected, glancing at their surroundings. "Your house is a little small, so it needs a bit of an upgrade."
Two days later, through the wonders of magic, Renji's modest two-story home was transformed into a luxurious mansion, standing out dramatically among the neighboring buildings in Kuoh Town.
Looking at the lavish new estate, Renji muttered, "People who know magic can really do whatever they want, huh?"
Despite the abrupt change, he had to admit—the once-quiet house had become much livelier. A month ago, he had spent his nights alone, but now, with Rias, Akeno, Koneko, Asia, and even Medusa around, things had taken a turn for the better.
---
That night, as the others enjoyed their time in the living room—Koneko and Asia playing video games, Rias and Akeno sipping tea on the balcony, and Medusa sunbathing under a parasol—Renji quietly returned to his room.
Closing the door behind him, he called out in his mind.
"System, initiate world travel!"
Rias, still seated on the balcony, glanced in the direction of Renji's room but showed no surprise. She had already noticed his habit of vanishing once a month.
The only one aware of Renji's secret, however, was Medusa.
As soon as Renji gave the command, a black vortex swallowed him whole. In an instant, he disappeared from the room, and time within the High School DxD world froze.
---
When Renji reappeared, he found himself in a completely new world.
"So, this is the next destination…"
He muttered as he took in his surroundings.
He was standing atop a towering structure, an iron tower overlooking a bustling modern city. Below him, streets were packed with people, cars zipped by, and neon signs flickered in the distance.
At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary modern world—nothing out of the ordinary.
However, as Renji closed his eyes and focused, he immediately noticed something unusual. The air was rich with energy, dense with magical power.
"It's slightly weaker than the Underworld… but this world definitely isn't normal," he murmured.
Realizing he needed more information, Renji teleported to a secluded alleyway before stepping out onto the main street.
Just as he did, a girl with flowing blonde hair and a striking red dress hurried toward him, her expression sharp and focused.
She spoke quickly, her tone urgent.
Renji, however, blinked in confusion.
"I have no idea what you just said."
The girl frowned before switching languages multiple times. Finally, she landed on Japanese.
"Are you from the East? Did you see anyone suspicious pass by?"
The moment Renji heard her speak fluent Japanese, something clicked in his memory.
"Erica Blandelli…?"
His eyes flickered with recognition.
That name confirmed his suspicions—this was the world of Campione!
A world where gods who refused to remain bound by myth descended into the human realm, wreaking havoc as Heretic Gods. These rogue deities had to be slain by mortals in order for one to claim their divine authority, earning the title of Campione—God-Slayer, Demon King, Tyrant.
Renji smirked.
"This world might be dangerous, but the rewards are worth the risk."
Suppressing his excitement, he turned his attention back to Erica.
"Girl, is this how people strike up conversations in Italy nowadays?"
Erica's expression twitched, clearly not expecting such a response.
She had been tracking one of the incarnations of Verethragna, the Persian war god, and had rushed over upon sensing something unusual. But now, she found herself face-to-face with a stranger who looked more amused than alarmed.
As someone who had been hailed as a genius since childhood—an elite knight of the Copper-Black Cross, known as the "Scarlet Devil"—Erica was unused to being teased.
Renji chuckled at her reaction.
"Oh? Did I hit a nerve?"
The infamous knight of Italy had just met a problem child of another world.
This encounter was bound to be interesting.
