"Don't you find it suspicious, Winter? Eric never told you anything about his family. All he did was fall for you, act like he was worthy of your time, and then—just like that—he turned his back on you," Gina said, trying to make sense of it all.
"And that's exactly why I believe he came into my life with more than just one motive," Winter concluded, her words bringing a flicker of relief to Gina.
"Right," Gina agreed, her tone firm but reassuring.
"And now I want you to find out what it is. Maybe he's up to something you never even considered," Gina pressed.
Winter could agree with that. But the real question lingered — what was it?
"Kalix tried to dig into Eric too, back when he was stalking me. But even his team came up empty. They couldn't track anything," Winter added.
Gina believed her, especially since she had seen it herself — the details vanishing in the blink of an eye, leaving no trace behind.
