"Shit... How did that useless girl get an opportunity to just sit herself on the throne..."
House Sapphire had worked so hard to influence the senate and the king himself to get their own member on the throne.
It was already decided upon learning that King was unable to rule, he would be the one who would take over the throne.
And yet...
"We underestimated Princess of Fools, she had even allied with demihumans..." His face contorted in disgust.
He understood it. If it would guarantee a throne, he would have consorted with Demi-Humans too, but there lay the issue.
King was most certainly dead, killed by Aurelia herself.
Demi-humans would never ally with anyone from the royal family as long as Avaros was alive.
'That shrewd bitch assasinated the king and lied to everyone...' He wouldn't ever expect Aurelia of all people to have the gall.
He had gained a small tinge of respect, minuscule as it was, however, she was an obstacle now.
No matter how weak she seemed when she spoke to him in the throne room, he was not foolish enough to underestimate someone who was able to ally with demihumans and kill the king without anyone finding out.
Assasins wouldn't work, nobody would ever be able to pass the sheer amount of harpies he had seen, perhaps when she was alone.
Perhaps something discreet, not a dagger or an arrow, but something subtle, 'A poisoned wine... perhaps.'
He had no qualms playing a subservient role for Aurelia, despite her being most unworthy of the throne, as she was both a woman and inexperienced.
Of course, he wouldn't bring the poison himself; she surely needed many servants, and therein lies a perfect opportunity.
One of the maids who already works there could easily be bribed or threatened to bring poison to the false regent.
Unfortunately, he did not see any of his familiar faces, which meant that she had possibly dismissed them all.
"She is a lot more shrewd than I ever thought..." He approached his desk and sat at the ornate wooden chair.
Was she playing a fool, only for them to drop the guard around her?
It would make sense, she never acted like a proper princess before now.
No, even now, when he spoke to her, she acted weak, and yet despite it, she was the one forcefully taking the throne for herself.
He was both impressed and angry.
'Time to call the senate, if I play my cards right, she would be executed for regicide, which would allow me to finally become king.'
He picked up his quill and a piece of parchment before sliding the ink over it.
He lacked magical means of delivering a message, which was unfortunate but not the end of the world.
It would merely delay the Senate by a week at maximum.
An acceptable amount of time, however, anything more would be bad, as Aurelia would be able to consolidate her power even more than she already has.
The senate needed to act fast to remove the pretender before she gains enough influence to go against the Noble Houses.
'... Possibility is there that the Military doesn't support her.'
If the Senate could take away the royal family's command of the Military, it would be over, Aurelia couldn't do anything even with Demi-Human Supporters.
Gaining command of the 1st legion would guarantee success in deposing the pretender princess.
No amount of demihumans could hope to stand against such a mighty legion when compared to 4th, it was like putting an ant in front of a mountain.
1st Legion was the sole thing giving the Royal Family power over royal houses.
The most powerful warriors the Valar could offer belonged to it.
"Steward! Get in here!" His voice reverberated through the air.
It took moments before an older man appeared, he was dressed in the finest silk, and he had gray hair with dull blue eyes.
"Deliver this letter to other Noble houses, We have to call the senate!"
"Understood, Lord Milan!" Man bowed deeply before approaching and taking the letter.
In a moment, Steward turned around and left, leaving Milan alone.
Despite what Aurelia had done, he did not hate her; after all he would do the same thing to attain the throne.
'Perhaps if she were not a member of the royal family, we could have been allies.'
He should have known that nobody would be as foolish without having an ulterior motive. Aurelia had planned all of this.
And yet nobility underestimated her due to her behavior and moniker.
Step.Step.Step
Steps echoed from the halls outside, something Milan assumed were house servants, however, he did not expect his doors to be opened and a well-dressed woman to enter.
His eye twitched at the intrusion. Did this woman have no manners?
His eyes looked her up and down. She had golden eyes and golden hair and was dressed in what looked like a gold-colored suit. Despite not looking like a noble suit, it truly radiated wealth.
"Well, who do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" Milan spoke with a shaky voice, bearly covering his frustration.
The woman approached his table before leaning forward, which he did not mind as she war rather well endowed.
"Milan of House Sapphire, I suppose?" Her voice was low and threatening.
"That would be right." He raised his eyebrow, This was such a strange situation he found himself in.
She leaned back, before producing a letter, "This is for you, from Queen Aurelia. I advise you to read and consider your following actions."
His eyes wandered down to the letter then back to the woman. 'Queen? What a lofty title for a pretender.'
"Who are you?"
"My name is Raguel, the Judge. I am to be Queen Aurelia's Tutor by order of the Allmighty Father. Pray that you are not deserving of my Judgement."
'Huh?!' Milan stared at the woman in disbelief.
He had blinked, and in the next moment, a woman was gone, leaving only a letter.
"What the hell was that?! What did Aurelia make a deal with?!" Milan wouldn't admit it, but his whole body sweated in fear.
It was like staring at the abyss, he could fall in and fall forevermore.
