Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3: THE ENCOUNTER

"We have to find somewhere safe to stay. Do you have any idea?" Hazel asked Blossom, scanning their surroundings and taking in the massive destruction caused by the monsters.

"Anywhere you want to stay, my lord, I will stay with you," Blossom replied, her voice devoid of emotion.

"I'm really not comfortable with this current... Miss Ivy," Hazel said, walking carefully across the road, with Blossom following closely behind.

A loud howl pierced the air, and Hazel's eyes scanned their surroundings, searching for the source. "It seems we have company," he thought.

The howl grew louder, and Hazel felt a strong presence approaching. Blossom sensed it too, immediately taking a battle stance.

"What's with this intense pressure I'm feeling from this presence?" Hazel thought, his heart racing.

"Blossom, be on guard. It's close," Hazel warned, gripping his scythe tightly.

"Yes, my lord," Blossom replied, her voice firm and resolute.

Suddenly, a white wolf, much larger than a normal wolf, appeared before them. Its level, 25, hovered above its head.

Hazel shouted, "Blossom!" and threw his scythe at the wolf. However, the wolf dodged easily, leaving Blossom clear to attack.

Hazel retrieved his scythe and stood beside Blossom. "Let's take it together."

The wolf's level indicated it was stronger than Hazel and Blossom, but Hazel believed they could defeat it if they worked together.

"Blossom, go left. I'll go right," Hazel instructed.

Blossom obeyed, and they positioned themselves on either side of the wolf. As the wolf attacked Hazel, he guarded against it with his scythe, while Blossom struck from behind, cutting off one of its legs.

The wolf fell, and Hazel quickly cut off another leg. "Blossom, finish it!" he shouted.

However, just as Blossom was about to deliver the final blow, the wolf jumped out of the way, avoiding the attack.

"How is that even possible?" Hazel exclaimed in surprise.

The wolf's loud howl summoned more wolves to its aid. "These things are really pesky," Hazel said. "Blossom, I'll injure them. It's up to you to kill them. Do it fast this time, and don't let them call for more help."

Blossom nodded, "Okay, my lord."

Two more wolves attacked, but Hazel and Blossom dodged their attacks and counterattacked. Hazel cut off their legs, and Blossom beheaded them.

The remaining two wolves approached more cautiously, but Hazel outmaneuvered them, chopping off one wolf's legs and giving Blossom the opportunity to kill it.

As the last wolf attacked Hazel, Blossom used her skill, Spiral Blossom Slash, to cut its head in half, saving Hazel's life.

"Thanks, Blossom," Hazel said, relieved.

Blossom replied, "It's my pleasure, master."

Hazel approached the crippled wolf and instructed Blossom, "Finish it."

Blossom killed the wolf, and the system notified them:

[Your subordinate has killed 5 wolf monsters.]

[You have gained 75 EXP points.]

[Your subordinate has gained 50 EXP points.]

Hazel thought, "I see, I was still given most of the EXP."

As they continued their journey, Hazel tried to summon the wolf's soul using the system, but it didn't work.

"Let's go, Blossom," Hazel said, and they walked on.

After a while, they came across a boutique. Hazel suggested, "I guess it's finally time to change out of this hospital wear. Blossom, let's go in here."

Inside the boutique, Hazel found some suitable clothes and instructed Blossom to guard the door while he changed.

As Hazel emerged from the changing room, Blossom couldn't help but blush at his charming appearance.

Hazel noticed her reaction and was shocked, as it was the first emotion he had seen from her since reviving her.

"Do you remember anything yet?" Hazel asked, hoping to spark something.

But Blossom replied, "No, sir," returning to her submissive demeanor.

Hazel thought to himself, "Can I draw out her memories by making her emotions active again?"

"I'll find out," he said, and they left the boutique, continuing their search for a safe place to stay.
