Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Successful Rescue

After dealing with the three scumbags, Su Chen felt a sense of relief.

He never thought something like this would actually happen to him.

Tang Guo'er immediately rushed to help her father, who was lying on the ground, covered in blood and barely clinging to life.

"Dad, are you okay... sob sob..."

Tang Guo'er supported her father, whose head had suffered a severe injury. His face bore marks from being stomped on.

Guo'er's father was so weak he could barely speak. "Child, if I..."

Tang Guo'er had never seen her father in such a state. He had always been the strong pillar of their home.

"Don't say that!"

"It's all my fault. I was too naive. I shouldn't have run off on my own. This is all my fault."

"I just want you both to be safe and happy."

Seeing this, Su Chen quickly retrieved some remaining bandages from his car and began treating Guo'er's father's wounds.

"Guo'er, step aside for a moment. Let me bandage your father's wounds."

Su Chen skillfully wrapped the wounds, and Tang Guo'er watched him with admiration in her eyes.

The bleeding was successfully stopped.

Guo'er's father was still conscious.

"Thank you, young man. You're a good person."

"No need to thank me. This is what I should do."

Seeing that Guo'er's father's condition had stabilized for now, Su Chen felt relieved.

Tonight, this family should be able to reunite. That also meant the girl wouldn't have to stay at his place anymore. If she stayed any longer, she might really uncover his little secret.

Tang Guo'er looked around and anxiously asked her father, "Where's Mom? Did those bastards... kill her?"

A terrible feeling crept into her heart.

Ever since she was born, her mother had never hit or scolded her. No matter what mistakes she made, her mother would always teach her patiently.

If her mother... had been killed…

She wouldn't know how to face that reality.

"Your... mom... she's in the car," her father weakly said.

Hearing this, the weight on Tang Guo'er's heart finally lifted.

That meant her mother was still alive! Without hesitation, she ran straight to the car. Inside, on the bed, lay a familiar face—her mother.

Her mother's clothes were torn to shreds, her hands were bound with rope, her mouth was sealed with tape, and her face was swollen from being beaten. The buttons of her pants had been undone. She mumbled indistinctly, trying to speak.

A sharp pain shot through Tang Guo'er's heart. She could only imagine the suffering her mother had endured just minutes ago.

Upon seeing her daughter, light returned to Guo'er's mother's eyes. Even in such a dire situation, her first concern was her daughter's safety.

Tears had already streaked her mother's face, but she suddenly managed a smile.

Tang Guo'er rushed forward to untie her mother, fastened her pants, and tore off the tape.

Guo'er's mother immediately embraced her.

"Guo'er! Thank goodness you're safe. Thank goodness... I missed you so much."

Tang Guo'er felt a deep sense of guilt.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I let you and Dad suffer so much."

"Don't apologize. I'm fine, really. As long as you're safe, that's all that matters."

"Guo'er, are you scared? It's okay. Mommy will protect you."

Even at this moment, her mother was still comforting her.

Tang Guo'er was already crying uncontrollably.

"Mom... sob sob..."

Outside, Su Chen wasn't idle. He carried Guo'er's father into the RV so he could rest properly.

Then, he fetched a basin of water and carefully wiped the blood off Guo'er's father.

Watching this family's deep bond moved him. He could feel the warmth of home, something he hadn't experienced in a long time. It had been ages since he last saw his own parents. He wondered how they were doing.

Meanwhile, Er Bao, the dog, stood dumbfounded beside Guo'er's father. It had never witnessed such a scene before and seemed a bit shaken.

"Woof woof woof."

Er Bao let out a gentle bark, trying to show goodwill.

The moment Guo'er's father was carried into the RV, he knew Su Chen wasn't an ordinary person. The luxurious RV, the presence of a pet dog—it all spoke volumes.

He carefully observed Su Chen's appearance and physique. The young man was excellent in every aspect.

His daughter had clearly spent the night at Su Chen's place yesterday. If they really ended up together, it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Seeing how diligently Su Chen was caring for him, Guo'er's father seemed to realize something.

"Young man, you're really good to me. Very good indeed."

"Tell me, do you have a interest in my daughter?"

Su Chen's face turned bright red, even redder than a monkey's bottom. He was stunned on the spot.

He froze, holding a towel mid-air. For a moment, silence filled the air.

"Uncle... your daughter is indeed very beautiful, but I..."

"But what? Thanks to you, we're safe today. And I assume my daughter stayed here last night, right? Nothing happened?"

"As a father, I should be strict about such things. But she's already an adult now. She should have her own choices."

"Uncle, it's not what you think..."

Before Su Chen could finish his sentence, Tang Guo'er interrupted.

"Oh, so you're here! I was wondering where you had gone."

Tang Guo'er helped her mother into the RV.

Seeing Guo'er's mother's tattered clothing, Su Chen quickly accessed the RV's control panel and operated it skillfully. Soon, a warm inner layer and a cotton jacket were prepared.

He handed them to Tang Guo'er.

"Here, take these. Let your mom change into them. Just throw the old clothes away."

Guo'er's mother looked at him with gratitude.

Tang Guo'er led her mother to the bathroom.

"Guo'er, this young man seems quite reliable. He's worth considering."

Tang Guo'er blushed.

"Mom, stop it! You're overthinking. He and I are just friends."

"Come on, look at his RV. That alone shows he's ambitious. Our family is stuck living in a rundown camper, while he has a small luxury home on wheels."

"He must be quite capable."

Tang Guo'er did have a bit of a good impression of Su Chen, but she wasn't the type to take the initiative.

"I don't think so. He probably doesn't mean anything by it."

After changing clothes, the family of three sat around the table, chatting and laughing.

Su Chen, meanwhile, was busy cooking. He planned to send them home after this meal so he could keep his secret safe.

"Young man, you're really something. Even cooking?"

"Yes! And it smells amazing. Even better than my own cooking! Guo'er, in the future, you should find a husband who can cook."

The couple chimed in together, turning the scene into a matchmaking session.

Su Chen felt a bit pressured.

Since there were more people today, he prepared a larger meal than usual.

Er Bao and Jun Ma didn't have a place at the table, so Su Chen set aside some food for them.

As he brought the dishes to the table, the family of three was completely stunned!

Such a lavish meal!

Not only was there meat, but big fish and hearty dishes. Even the vegetables came in a variety of options.

The vibrant colors and rich aroma made the meal irresistibly appetizing.
