Chapter 43 - Chapter 42: Whiskey Peak (II)

The moon had risen, and the party in Whiskey Peak continued.

The liquor flowed quickly for everyone, making the celebration only grow livelier.

"And then, I told them in the coolest way possible, Hey, Sea Kings, get your fins off my friends!" said Usopp, clearly drunk.

"Captain Usopp, you're amazing!" shouted some women, impressed by Usopp.

"I must admit, our great escape from the Calm Belt gave me chills, but from excitement, of course," said Usopp, making the men cheer for him.

Meanwhile, Zoro was in a drinking contest, seeing who could drink the most liquor.

Zoro finished chugging a large mug of beer, while the man next to him swayed unsteadily.

"I give up," the man muttered before collapsing onto the table.

"Wow! He's already beaten 10 people!" shouted a man, amazed at how many had lost.

"YAHOO!!" Nami shouted happily after drinking alcohol as if it were nothing.

"Incredible! She has beaten 12!" yelled another man, shocked by how much she had drunk.

"She's amazing!" another man cheered.

Luffy was devouring an enormous amount of food, his appetite showing no limits.

"Bring more!" Luffy shouted, surrounded by numerous empty plates.

"I give up," said the chef, collapsing from exhaustion.

"His captain can eat for 20 people!"

"The chef has surrendered!"

The men cried out in shock at Luffy's feat.

"Oh my! This man is incredible—he's seducing 20 women at once!" said another man, stunned by the sight of Sanji surrounded by women. "Who are these guys?!"

"Hahaha, this has certainly been—Ahem! Ma ma ma ♪—a delightful evening! The more people having fun, the better. Isn't that right?" said a strange man, watching everyone enjoy themselves. "It's much better this way."

Amid the festivities, Oliver took a sip from a beer mug.

"I still don't get how people enjoy this," Oliver said, setting the beer aside.

"And what are you doing?" a woman asked him, holding a beer in her hand.

"Nothing," Oliver replied, remembering that everyone in town was a bounty hunter. 'How do I get rid of them?'

Oliver thought for a moment and did something he hadn't done in a long time—he got comfortable and went to sleep, hoping the people around him would leave.

The Straw Hats continued enjoying the party.

"Hahaha, this is so fun..." The strange man made odd noises again. "...What a great time we're having! The more people enjoying themselves, the better!"

Hours passed, and eventually, each of the Straw Hats had fallen asleep.

"They're all unconscious. Sweet dreams, brave adventurers. Tonight, the cactus rocks seem to dance so beautifully in the moonlight," said the strange man.

"That's deep..." said Miss Wednesday.

"...Mr. 8," Mr. 9 called the strange man by name.

"Oh, it's you two!" said Mr. 8.

"How are things?" asked Mr. 9.

"They've all fallen into the abyss," Mr. 8 said ominously.

"Oh my... Burp! They eat and drink too much! And I was only drinking tea. Was it really necessary to throw this entire party? Just for those seven brats?" said a nun.

"Miss Monday," Mr. 8 called out to the woman as she removed her nun's outfit.

"We could have taken them out at the port. We're short on food, remember? And on top of that, we didn't get the whale meat," said Miss Monday.

"What do you mean by that?!" Miss Wednesday asked indignantly.

"Yeah, we did the best we could!" Mr. 9 shouted, equally offended.

"Calm down, look at this. I took the time to investigate those kids," Mr. 8 said, showing Luffy's wanted poster.

"Wh-what?! Th-thirty million berries?!" the three of them shouted in shock.

"Only a fool judges a pirate by their appearance, Miss Bunbay, ma ma ma ♪ Miss Monday," said Mr. 8.

"Could they really be...?" Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday asked hesitantly.

"My apologies," Miss Monday said.

"It doesn't matter. Let's take care of them, and then we'll inform the boss. Quickly, take all the treasures from the ship and tie them up! If we kill them, we'll get 30% less, since the government wants them alive for a public execution," said Mr. 8.

"Sorry, but if you don't mind, let them sleep a little longer. They're all exhausted from today's journey," said Zoro, who was sitting on the rooftop of a house, shocking everyone.

"Mr. 8! Miss Monday! One of them escaped while we weren't watching!" a man shouted.

"He should be asleep!" Mr. 8 yelled.

"A true swordsman would never let alcohol defeat him. And a bounty hunters' den can be a dangerous place. You lure pirates in, making them celebrate their journey into the Grand Line! It looks like there are about a hundred bounty hunters here. I'll take you all down—Baroque Works," said Zoro, stunning everyone with the fact that he knew their identity.

Back at the party site, everyone was still sound asleep until some men arrived, attempting to tie them up.

"These pirates sure are idiots," one man said.

"Well, we better take care of them as soon as possible," said another.

One of the men approached Oliver to tie him up, but Oliver grabbed him by the face.

"What the...?"

Oliver electrocuted him and swiftly moved to another, putting him in a chokehold.

"If there's anyone stupid here, it's you guys," Oliver said before electrocuting him too. "Well, I guess it's time to go help Zoro."

Oliver nearly choked when he saw the mission reward.

Outside, Zoro was evading bounty hunters and taking them down with ease, escaping while defeating them to avoid injury.

"Watch out for the hole."

Zoro made a hole in the ground, causing several bounty hunters to fall in as they tried to attack him.

Miss Monday attempted to strike him with a ladder, but Zoro dodged. She grabbed him by the neck, trying to punch him with her brass knuckles, but before she could, Oliver landed a powerful blow, sending her flying.

"In trouble?" Oliver asked, offering a hand.

"I had it," Zoro said, accepting Oliver's help to get up.

"Another one woke up?!" one of the bounty hunters shouted in frustration.

Oliver charged at multiple bounty hunters, defeating them all.

"H-how?!" Mr. 8 exclaimed, stunned by the defeat of the bounty hunters.

"What just happened?" Miss Monday muttered, but before she could react, Oliver punched her, slamming her into the ground.

"Will the others be okay?" Zoro asked.

"Of course. We just have to take care of these guys," Oliver said, ready to keep fighting.

"It's the Marines' fault—I get it now. They must have messed up the wanted posters," said Mr. 8.

"One of these two must actually be worth 30 million... or maybe both of them," Mr. 9 said, sweating nervously.

"If that's the case, and he's the captain, we need to act accordingly. But what do we do about him?" Miss Wednesday asked, looking at Oliver.

"The boss entrusted us with this town. We've already lost a lot to these two. Now, it's a matter of responsibility," said Mr. 8, grabbing his saxophone. "Igarappa!!"

Mr. 8 played his saxophone, firing multiple bullets at them, but Oliver wanted to test Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist, so he brought his hands together in a circle before quickly separating them, creating a cutting pressure that destroyed all the bullets.

"W-what...?!" Mr. 8 gasped, shocked that his attack had failed.

"Prepare yourself."

Oliver lunged at Mr. 8, grabbing his face and electrocuting him, knocking him out instantly.

"MR. 8!!" both bounty hunters shouted.

Shocked by his defeat, they had no time to react before Oliver rushed them, knocking them out with a single blow.

"All done!" Oliver said after taking them all down.

"You didn't leave anything for me," Zoro said, sheathing his katana.

"Well, we can always increase efficiency," Oliver replied. 'I couldn't risk Vivi or Igaram dying.'
