Under the tranquil night sky, the bright moonlight bathed the ruins of the Thousand Winds Temple, adding an air of mysterious haziness to the ancient structures.
Yu Xie and Eula sat quietly on the grass, gazing at the distant scenery. Neither spoke further—there was no need. Often, silence carried words of its own.
Suddenly, a voice broke the stillness.
"Captain!"
A member of the Reconnaissance squad came running over in a rush, stopping beside Eula and Yu Xie, gasping for breath.
"What's wrong?" Eula frowned slightly. She knew her team well—if someone came in such a hurry, it meant something serious had happened.
"We've discovered a large group of monsters gathering, and it seems like they're moving intentionally, heading towards Mondstadt!" The team member took a deep breath and quickly relayed the news.
Upon hearing this, both Eula and Yu Xie furrowed their brows and quickly stood up.
"Wake everyone up, hurry!" Eula ordered.

Under the moonlight, groups of monsters slowly walked along the road, resembling an army on the march.
The path they were on led towards Mondstadt, and if nothing changed, these monsters would eventually reach the outskirts of the city.

"We're not just going to stand here and watch," Yu Xie said with a smile. "Today, we're temporary members of the Reconnaissance Squad, right?"
"I think so too, Captain Eula," Ei added.
Eula looked at Yu Xie and Ei, paused for a moment, then responded with a smile. "Take care of yourselves."
The members of the Reconnaissance Squad blocked the path of the advancing monsters. Under the moonlight, the monsters behaved unusually, as if they couldn't see the people blocking their way, and continued to march forward.
The Hilichurls, holding their weapons, took steps forward, as if nothing could stop their advance.
The battle began, and Eula, as the captain, led by example. Her weapon, "Song of Broken Pines," drew a graceful arc through the air. The seemingly heavy greatsword felt light in Eula's hands.
Eula's combat style was like a dance—her strikes were sharp yet graceful.
The members of the Reconnaissance Squad followed closely behind. They had to stop the monsters here; if they allowed the monsters to approach Mondstadt, civilians could be attacked.
As members of the Knights of Favonius, they would never allow such an event to happen.
Yu Xie and Ei also joined the battle. For Ei, dealing with these monsters was effortless and simple.
To avoid drawing too much attention, she concealed her full strength.
Even so, her naginata was incredibly sharp, and under the moonlight, her movements were fluid. The monsters couldn't get near her and were swiftly cut down by her naginata.

After arranging for the injured to be taken back to Mondstadt, Yu Xie led the remaining members to continue guarding the area, in case another similar situation arose.
The squad captured a Hilichurl, tying it up with ropes.
At this moment, Yu Xie, Eula, and Ei approached the captured Hilichurl.
The tied-up Hilichurl looked vicious. Seeing someone approach, it let out a deep growl from its throat, like a wild beast warning against the approach of an outsider.
"Captain, I think this Hilichurl has been influenced by something. Normally, Hilichurls don't behave like this," said one of the members guarding the Hilichurl.
The Hilichurl watched the people warily, its eyes glowing red. As it let out a low growl, it seemed to begin speaking.
The words it uttered were incomprehensible, not sure if it was the Hilichurl language or something else.
"Is this Hilichurl speaking?" another team member asked, puzzled.
Yu Xie furrowed his brows slightly and slowly approached the Hilichurl.
"Yu Xie!" Eula grabbed his arm.
Yu Xie smiled and signaled that it was fine, then continued to move closer.
The Hilichurl's gaze was fierce, as if it wanted to devour the person in front of it. Yet, deep in those fierce eyes, there seemed to be a flicker of lingering rationality, almost like a cry for help.
After thinking for a moment, Yu Xie said, "If I remember correctly, Mondstadt has a linguist who specializes in Hilichurl language. Perhaps we can ask them to help translate."
