Kelsie sat in the van, gently tilting her head to the side to stare into nothing.
Though the bag over her head was so thick she couldn't see a thing, she could hear the heavy breathing of those around her.
"Can I at least know if my daughter is fine?"
The words had just rolled off her tongue when the van suddenly screeched to a halt.
The sudden braking threw everyone forward, and the people with her began hissing, yelling at the driver in irritation.
"Do you not know how to drive? You could've killed us just now!"
"Don't shout at me. I only braked because a vehicle suddenly came in front of me. If I hadn't, you'd probably be dead by now!" Judging from the response, she knew it had to be the driver.
"A vehicle? Just go the other way!"
"What a brilliant idea! Maybe I would've done that if this road wasn't under construction and this lane wasn't the only way out of here."
