Dimitri POV
He drifted in a warm sea. Free from pain. Away from the battle.
Was the battle still going on? He didn't know.
Cold now. He was moving. Someone was taking him somewhere.
He heard a woman's voice, muffled. He strained to make out what she was saying. Why was she mumbling? He wished she'd speak up. He tried to tell her, but he couldn't talk.
Stabbing pain somewhere in his chest. As if he'd been staked. Had he? You would think he'd remember something like that. But his head felt fuzzy, foggy. Nothing seemed real.
The woman spoke up louder.
"... Thank you for helping me."
"Think nothing of it, Your Majesty."
A male's voice. An unknown male. Who was it? Sounded human. And who was the queen> For that matter, who was he? He couldn't remember.
"No one saw us take him, did they?"
"Your Majesty, no one would have seen anything in all that chaos, and with Princess Irina making quite a scene."
"QUEEN Irina ..."
