Luc POV
Irina, offering herself to him?
Luc paused, his eyes on Irina. His brother was already dead. The kingdom was Luc's.
"Prince Luc," one of the Lammas soldiers announced, "we can't find the human."
Irina answered. "She's dead. I killed her and drained her of blood on the way here. I came to my senses. To think, I lowered myself to share a meal, much less a throne or a husband, with such an inferior creature!"
Captain Valerie scowled, looking balefully at Irina. "TRAITOR."
Hope leapt up within Luc's breast. "I knew it. I knew you couldn't turn your back on your own people ... or me."
"That's right." Irina walked toward him. Even disheveled from battle and with the odor of the stink bomb on her, she still captivated him with her beauty and grace. "I am a vampire. The humans are there to die and to feed us. I'd be thrilled if we wiped out as many of them as we could while still leaving enough for feeding. None of this synthetic blood idea. Blech!"
