Allan pulled back slowly, savoring the moment as if he'd just tasted something rare. A few seconds later, Lily opened her eyes, her lashes fluttering like she was waking from a dream.
"Have I told you how gorgeous you look tonight?" he asked, his voice gentle, but full of awe.
A soft, delighted smile curved her lips, sweet, almost childlike. "You could say it ten more times and I still wouldn't get tired of hearing it."
Allan chuckled, charmed by her innocence. "Then let me say it again. You look gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. And so incredibly beautiful."
As he spoke, his hand slid to her waist, resting there. His thumb moved in slow, lazy circles against the fabric of her dress.
Lily narrowed her eyes playfully. "Three compliments that basically mean the same thing?"
"Exactly," he said with a grin. "Because no one word feels enough. You deserve them all, and more. I mean it, Lily. I feel lucky just standing here with you."
