Walter panted, his body shrouded in silver mist. The black hood from his coat covered his head as a black mask covered his face. The mask had gray horns as gray stripes ran down to the base of the mask from the horns. His coat, violently blew against the wind as it as well as his mask were stained with blood.
"Hey…..did you see that?!" said person A as they looked on. They stood in awe having witnessed a man exercise his authority over absolute destruction. The likes of which their meager minds were yet to fathom.
"I did….as soon as the trial commenced, he jumped…. Absolutely decimating at least ten birds. He wasted not a moment. As soon as the barriers that were shielding us dispelled, he destroyed them in a matter of seconds. My eyes could hardly keep up. All I saw was a silver light that hit ten birds and they fell."
Walter let a sigh when the mask fell off. The thread that held it to his head had been severed.
I suppose one of them reacted on time and almost put a scratch on me. These birds were decent….unlike the rest which flew away. Hard to believe they ran away even when they possess magic. He stood on one of the bird corpses which had its head bashed in. Blood splattered against the hard sandy soil.
Here is a report of what the other candidates witnessed:
The birds that hovered over them were bystier's of the Peregrine falcon, known specifically as Falco peregrinus. Flames outlined their feathery bodies as each averaged a body length of about 2m with a wingspan of roughly 4.2m. Their feathers were dyed to a bright crimson and their eyes, azure.
No sooner had the thin lining of white aura that coated his body dispelled than a silver misty aura took its place. Flashes of lightning were released from his body, striking all his surroundings. He dashed forward before jumping. His target, a falcon circling up in the sky. It flew above the rest. The silver mist that was spread throughout his body shifted to his right hand, covering only his hand as he made a fist.
He delivered a single blow to its head, sending it crashing down as its head burst from the intense force behind his strike. It descended, like a meteorite through the winds, striking another bird and taking it down with it. They both crashed into the ground, reduced to stains of blood as their bones scattered. They cracked the rock layer on which they landed.
As soon as he struck the bird, the aura that had shifted to his right hand scattered and covered the rest of his body. He exhaled, before more flashes of lightning left his body. He propelled himself to another bird on its descent and delivered an axe kick. Hardly had he made contact when he propelled himself to yet another. He sent it crushing into the ground.
An uppercut. A jab for another. A crescent kick and repeat. On his tenth bird, he had propelled himself toward it when it shifted, dodging his jab. Seeing this, he grabbed its foot as it prepared to soar even higher. It attempted to shake him off, using its claws to try and scratch him. Its claw missed his left eye when he released flashes of lightning, temporarily stunning it. "Lightning Art: Parallel Charge; Centered."
He used the chance to grab its neck after swinging from its foot. It released flames, shooting flaming feathers at him. He grinned as the silver aura intensified. The feathers bounced off his aura when he thought, Now to multiply my leg strength and use the charge that I have been carelessly discharging in order to turn part of the sky into a condensed field. With that charge, I will align parallel to it to use my art and generate a flash that will propel me downward. Mimicking the path of descent for lightning. This is how I was taught to fight. He propelled himself downwards. Crashing the bird into the ground and tearing apart the hard ground. Leaving him at the center of cracked rock with blood splattered all over his body. Panting before letting out a sigh and his mask falling off.
The wind blew before his hood fell off, exposing his white locks. His silver eyes glanced at the others who stood in all. He was about to dash when he felt great pain in his legs. I must have torn a lot of muscles. Regeneration first. I will take care of the others.
"Was it my imagination or is he still looking our way. White hair…that's an unusual color to dye your hair," person A added.
"You weren't imagining it, he still is. No wonder he is so strong, he has a divine blight. That hair does not look dyed. We should leave."
They began releasing white auras as they took off running. The heard sparks when they saw him beside them. He was running beside them with his gaze firmly fixed on them.
No way, he has already caught up. Is he even using lightning enhancements? There is no way we are this badly outclassed. One hit…that is all it will probably take for him to kill us.
As Walter was running, he heard the sound of sparks before he was sent flying back to the crater. He had blood coming from his mouth . He got back to his feet when he spit out blood. My tooth is shaking…that was a good punch. His wounds closed.
"I can recognize that silver aura from anywhere. After all, tis the only one in this Kingdom. The aura possessed by the son of the former head turned traitor of the Silverettes. The boy who became revered after becoming a member of the three crescents. Whilom, the strongest of the three… Treacherous Blood Silver; Walter Silverette."
"Who the hell are you? You know not only my name but the title I held too," Walter replied.
"Of course…you are a legend at Ent Magic Academy, and so are the other two. You are called the greatest talents to ever appear. Everyone from the Academy wishes to defeat a member of the crescents and I am no different. Especially after seeing that face of yours. You can not even recognize your former classmate."
"I cared for no one from my class aside from Abaddon and Decibel. The rest were weak as much as they lacked ambition. So make your name known…and die for the sake of my gaining points."
Laughter echoed as he replied, "I am known as Damon. No family name please." His dressing was as plain as could be. A black shirt and a black pair of trousers. His eyes had a white glow as he looked down at Walter. He brushed his hand against his black hair when he chuckled. "Funny, is it not? A man of your caliber, against one of mine. I am C rank by the way. Upper C to be exact." His body became enveloped in a white aura as flashes of lightning were released from his body.
"Upper C…lower C. A C is still a C. Raise your guard." As soon as Walter said those words, Walter dashed forward and delivered a jab, sending Damon sliding against the ground. "That was my way of expressing gratitude for the strike you delivered earlier. As it was only gratitude, I ensured it was of equal proportion. You need not worry."
Damon got back to his feet before saying, "You do not seem anymore powerful than when you were a child but that strike and speed begs to differ. You seem stronger even without a significant boost in magic. Was this because of that Guardian's teachings?"
"Who could say?" Walter replied. "Dead people will never require answers."
[The battle of three crescents, a battle that took place during the day of Redstar Ambiance when the night was blessed by a crescent moon. A crescent moon only ever appears once every nine years of the day of ambiance. It originally started as an exam to decide the Apprentice of Alnico Zahavi and later, because of a tie between three candidates. It became a three way battle. The three greatest talents to have entered the Academy clashed for that honor.
Walter bested the others and later became the Apprentice of the Sovereign of alloyed metals, Alnico Zahavi before being expelled from the Academy.]
