At first, I thought I was glazing Juna, but the OG authors here really be glazing Juan more than I'm glazing my glorious King LeBron.
————————————————————
At this point in the battle, Ash had the complete upper hand because although Juan's Seaking could still battle, it has been seriously injured and was now had limited mobility.
Juan was very good at controlling the way a battle flows, and so he was also very good at dealing with resolving Electric-type and other skills that Water-type Pokémon are not good at.
Many Trainers who come to the Sootopolis City Gym will start out with either an Electric-type or Grass-type Pokémon that can suppress Water-types.
After being easily neutralized by Juan, they will first lose a lot of momentum and then fall into a hard battle.
However, Ash was a very brave one in that he dares to challenge Juan with his own speciality of Water-type Pokémon's.
This undoubtedly gave him the upper hand in terms of the momentum.
Now, the cooperation of his two crabs had down its jib and has brought some heavily damage to Juan's Seaking in one fell swoop.
Tho Juan's expression still remained unchanged, "Ash, you truly are really amazing!"
"No matter what kind of battle it is, I will never lose!" Ash waited for his opponent to regain thier coordination again and launched another attack, "Crabhammer! Razor Shell!"
This was the real combination of his Kingler and Crawdaunt!
Kingler always stood there in the front, raking the formation for Crawdaunt to be able to do more damage.
At this moment, he smashed the water again on the side, causing huge waves and increasing Crawdaunt's speed to the limit. Razor Shell had already left his claw, and it was still the same Seaking that was being hit.
"Get out of the way!" Juan ordered, and his two Pokémon's jumped into the water one after another. However, even being under right now was a bad thing, a grave one even.
Kingler's terrifying power was enough to slash the water in the entire pool in half. At this moment, the waves were still constantly rising, and the waters all around them was also very turbulent.
However, both Walrein and Seaking had strong bodies, so they braved the undercurrent and approached where Kingler was waving for them.
"Walrein, use Aurora Beam, Seaking, use Horn Attack!"
Juan's orders was almost as simple and clear as the one that Ash jsut gave out. He only needed to be clear which Pokémon uses which skill. It does not clearly indicate who the target of the attack is but his Pokémon's know that.
To achieve this kind of command, what is needed was a lot of cooperation between the Trainer and their Pokémon's. Only a veteran Pokémon Trainer like Juan and someone who had a very strong understanding of their Pokémon's can do these kinds of things so easily.
But Ash has simplified this to the point where he can just call the name of the move like a one-on-one battle and let it happen, which was no longer a matter of experience.
The unimaginable bond between a Pokémon and their Trainer, and the incomparable sense of trust that they form after going through so many things are the foundation to let theses kinds of phenomena become reality.
Juan also realized this, and his two Pokémon's launched attacks at the same time. Aurora Beam surged up from below, sending Kingler flying over the water, while Seaking splashed high from the water and hit Crawdaunt with the most powerful weapon of a Seaking, the hard white horn on its head.
However, this Horn Attack attack was still comparable to Crawdaunt's Razor Shell attack.
"Come on! Razor Shell, again!"
Ash clenched his fist again and used its signature Razor Shell for the last move. Ever since his Kingler and Crawdaunt hear of this this skill and then began to learn it under Ash's Scizor's guidance, they have spent more time practicing this move than any of their other moves.
Not only was Crawdaunt using it now, Kingler has also raised his huge crab claws, his Razor Shell also unsheathed and slashed towards at Walrein.
"Walrein, use Ice Ball!"
Juan knew that he could let his Seaking and Walrein avoid their attacks anymore, they were too injured to move at their top speed, and he was also very determined to see who the winner would be in this confrontation.
All everyone in the area saw was two blue sword like slashes flashing across the field, and Seaking and Crawdaunt fell down at the same time, tho only one managed to stand up again to see its victory.
"Seaking loses the ability to fight!"
Sebastian immediately declared Crawdaunt's victory as it was the only one out of the two that stood up again. Seaking was injured just now, and now it has been further hit again with a very powerful flash. Naturally, it has lost its last remaining ability to fight.
Crawdaunt stood on the floating board, holding up a pair of huge iron pincers and cheering out in its dance on its victory.
He reverted back to his dance mode from when he was a Corphish.
However, on the other side, Kingler and Walrein both surfaced up from the bottom of the water.
Kingler was just standing there on top of Walreins defeated body, looking very happy and menacing all at the same time.
"Walrein has lost the ability to fight, meaning this round is over!" This also meant that Ash won the doubles battle with a 2-0 lead
"Come back, Walrein, Seaking! You two did well!" Juan took back his two Pokémon's to rest up.
Ash also took back his Crawdaunt and Kingler who were dancing with each other for their victory.
"Yeah, Big Bro won the first round!" Max cheered up loudly, "That's awesome, the battle just now was so exciting, even more than that Drake one!"
"Yes, Ash has been getting a to battle a lot of higher level Trainers, so he is also getting more experience from these battle." Brock was very proud of his best friend. He was as the one human that was always with Ash, so he was also able to see all of the progress Ash made along the way.
"Ash, your performance was really amazing, just like I heard from Steven!" Juan praised Ash with a smile, "I now understand why Steven was so full of praise for you, your battle tactics and coordination is really something to be proud about!"
"Then the next rounds will be one-on-one battles!" As soon as Juan finished speaking, the water field slowly set down.
Instead, now there was a battlefield with half land and half water, like a trickling stream with a mix of rocks on the sides. The design of this was quite clever, and this place now looks more like a beautiful creek than an indoor battle venue.
Juan them threw out his Poké Ball, "Come on out, Whiscash!"
The Pokémon that Juan sent to fight in this fight of the second round of battle was none other than his famous Whiscash.
Ash's only Master Ball was obtained from an old man who wanted to catch an old and giant Whiscash. And the only reason was that the Whiscash was so terrifying in size and the old man just had a some kind of a relationship to it.
Ash then used one of his few Great Balls to catch it and got the Master Ball from that old man in exchange.
But the Whiscash in front of me was only slightly larger than the normal one recorded in the Pokédex, but its momentum is not inferior to that one at all, if fact it was significantly stronger than that one by a long shot.
This one was what Ash would consider to be on the cusp of a break throw to the next level, like from it's current level to that level of an Elite 4.

(Sometimes I really want to bring those MTL Pokémon level to the story, but it can be too much to always maintain and change it.)

Just like Ash's plan to use his Snorlax to lead the charge against Gary's team in the last Silver Conference, in this one-on-one battle, Juan wants to use his very powerful Whiscash to stall Ash's winning momentum and do some great damage to it.
"A Whiscash?" Ash smiled slightly, "I also have dual Water-type and Ground-type Pokémon to fight it!"
"Stand by for battle, Swampert!" Another Poké Ball was thrown out of Ash's hands, and this was none other than the Hoenn Region's Royal Water-type Starter, Swampert!
"SWAMP!"
Ash and his Swampert had already completed their Bonds Evolutions all the way back in the Battle Tower of LaRousse City.
Name: Ash-Swampert
Type: Water, Ground
Ability: Damp (By making the surrounding area full of moisture, making it impossible for anyone on either sides to use explosive moves such as Self Destruct and Explosion.)
Swift Swim (When it rains in the area, the speed will increase by a large margin, maybe even twice if learning to use its correctly.)
Moves: Mud Shot, Arm Hammer, Mud Bomb, Rock Slide, Muddy Water, Take Down, Superpower, Earthquake, Ice Punch, Water Pulse, Hydro Pump…
Swampert was currently training with Ash's Blastoise and Feraligatr to learn the ultimate move that only the Water-type Royal Starters can learn, Hydro Cannon!
But it seems that he hadn't yet learned how to use it properly yet.
"Sis, Big Bros Swampert is getting more and more powerful, look at those muscles, it seems that it gets bigger every time we see it." Max has slowly showing his talent as an excellent Pokémon Observer, more than anything else. He can vaguely sense the difference in Swampert's strength over the times he had seen it with Ash.
"Moreover, compared to that Whiscash of Mr. Juan, Swampert obviously has an advantage of moving on both land and water." Brock nodded to what Max said and continued it, "This battle is obviously more advantageous towards Ash then it is to Mr. Juan."
"The second round of the Sootopolis City Gym begins now!" The butler and official referee of this battle, Sebastian, announced the start of the battle.
Ash took the lead and launched the attack, "Mud Bomb it is!"
Since he was battling using his Swampert, Ash was more than happy to use his Swampert's signature battle style to dominate this battle with.
They were both dual Water-type and Ground-type Pokémon's, so there was no competition to attack weak points using more advantageous attacks. This was a true head-to-head fight.
Such a battle made Juan's blood boil with excitement, something he hadn't faced since battling against his own student, "Whiscash, let's welcome them with a Muddy Water attack!"
The water mixed with the heavy mud dispersed onto the hard soil, and the two parties said their greetings to each other.
"Hammer Arm!"
Ash launched another attack almost immediately after that last one. As soon as he finished giving out his command, his Swampert jumped into the water and rushed towards Whiscash at an alarming speed.
"Whiscash, use Thrash!"
Once again, this became a head-to-head confrontation, where both sides have the same exact types.
