Chapter 203 - Chapter 203: A Better Start

She felt his soft hands cup her face as a tinge of moistness ran down her cheeks. She was crying before she buried her face into his chest to which he comforted her as he rubbed her head softly.

"Vivienne, do you remember what I told you?" He could feel her shivers on chest as she retracted her head. "That the world will treat you like a devil because of your actions. That you weren't a saint nor were to trying to be one."

He gave a warm smile as he rubbed her tears off her cheeks. "The world may view me as a monster but that doesn't mean I lack a heart. It is simply reserved for the selected few." It was aline that she had heard during their expedition to Russia at the time.

At first she didn't think much of it but now, she understood what he truly meant. Back then she knew that he had engaged in heinous acts but his malice wasn't blin but selective to who it attacked and she now understood it.

"I take it that things didn't go so well with your brother but worry not, I don't plan on killing him." Another crash followed and it was now that she realized how unstable she was. Her empathy had been returned to her and the first thing she did was cry.

Not what she had expected as she had planned to sever her ties with Andrew and go back to her family despite knowing it wasn't actually her own. But it was too late for that and deep down, she knew that it would never work.

Her fingers digging deep into his clothes as she buried herself deeper into his chest. The loneliness of it all was something she wasn't ready to face alone. Her brother was a variable character as he failed to let go of his grudge with Andrew.

Till now he seemed blinded by it and had yet to realize it. She had made multiple sacrifices and how was it repaid. In the form of resentment and condemnent. "Let's go." Her sniffles made her overall appearance come off as cute but Andrew knew that it was a pivotal moment for her.

With his guidance, he was able to drive out of the garage and the sky outside was presented to her. She seemed lost within the stars as Andrew kept on driving till the two came to a stop at a cliff. It was a vantage point that overlooked the beach and the seas afar.

The car fell silent as Andrew helped her out and made their way to the guard rails with a sharp drop below them standing side by side. The night was silent and calm with a light breeze swaying her hair ever so gently before a warm feeling wrapped her entire body.

Andrew was standing behind her, his arms wrapping her body with his chin resting on her shoulder. He stretched out her right arm using his and opening it completely pointing out into the sea.

His words were soft as they rang through her ear. "Let's see how potent you actually are." A small golden orb manifested not far from the two, the size of a fist before it kept on getting bigger and bigger.

It seemed to expand exponentially till it's growth started to slow down as it stretched farther and farther away from the island. The water on the beach was starting to be absorbed and devoured along with the sand small rocks.

With it's growth, more substances would be devoured to the point large rocks that were ten times bigger would be picked up from the ocean. Her arms started to shake a little bit but with Andrew's stability, she was able to regain control of it.

It kept on growing till it was the size of the half the island which was massive. From their perspective, it seemed to resemble a small moon with a golden ring on it's horizon as it emitted a strange and alien sound.

"You're doing great." A calm reassurance came from Andrew which made her confident and kept on making it bigger but her mind was elsewhere. Her arms started to shake once more as she wondered why she was even doing this.

'Why ven try if I'm not protecting the ones I love?' The black hole grew unsteady as it started to plummet towards the ocean and with it, the gravitational force started to alter.

Andrew was the one countering it but with the altercation, he momentarily let it go making her wary and trying to make her regain control but as of now, it was way too big to regain and just like that...

*Boom*

The massive black hole crashed into the ocean emitting a bright and colorful display but it didn't grow any bigger thanks to Andrew and in a matter of seconds, it collapsed in on itself and phased out of their eyes.

She had never former one so big thus her control over it was lacking. She dropped her arm as her gaze became hazy due to the teas forming in her eyes. 'Is this even worth it?' She asked herself to which an answer was presented to her.

"Yvette, I know that it's hard to find purpose given that it feels there is nothing else you can do. I understand that and that is why I try to be with the ones I love and adore like you. The events with your brother may have been hectic but I'm sure that you'll overcome it."

Andrew had a clear understanding of what she felt. After his return, he would question the worth of what he was doing, wondering whether it was even worth it to begin with or just forget it all and move on. As a multidimensional horror, there wasn't anything that he lacked and yet he felt that he had nothing.

Everything was at his command and yet it all felt null and hollow. "You may think because I have everything means I'm happy but that couldn't be any more incorrect. Despite this all, it all feels meaningless and pointless making me wonder what the point of it even is."

"It all clashes and melds together to the point I feel nothing but apathy to what I experience but thanks to you, I remembered what the point of it all was."

Vivienne felt a light tinge of moistness on her shoulder and taking a glance, a tear could be seen fall from Andrew's eye. She couldn't tell whether it was an act or he really meant it but she felt the resonation with his words.

Turning around, the two were locked in their gaze as Vivienne could see his eyes glisten and twinkle due to the tears and the stars reflected. She took a deep breath as she forced a smile.

"Come on, you're the one who is suppose to be cheering me up." She mused as she tried to wipe the tears off his cheeks. A sharp contrast to before. Most of them time he had spent with Ashley, it would usually feel more like an act rather than true and genuine emotions.

Something that he hadn't felt ever since Cassie's death. After that, he felt that he had been donning a mask the entire time to please those around him. But the trance was deviated the moment he met Vivienne and Xia but for the wrong reasons.

Not out of connection and longing but out of pity and boredom. Ever since everything has felt like a motion picture with him taking a back seat. He saw and observed the world around him but never felt that he was truly connected with it.

A smile flashed on his face followed with a light hearted chuckle. "Okay." He mused softly as he took in her features. It was at this moment that he realized how callous the world that he had been trapped in made him come off as.

"Chuu~" A soft kiss rang through the air as the two were locked in each others embrace before breaking off. He knew that it would take her a while to overcome her brothers actions but he didn't mind and would wait for her.

"I'll help you overcome any troubles you may come across." And with that, the two exchanged another kiss as tears trailed down their cheeks. He was going to change his perspective of things but not by much. That was for those he considered were close to him.

The rest were merely filler in his eyes. And with that, the two hopped back in the car and in a bright flash, the night sky was filled with the headlights of the car followed by it's soft purr and the two headed back to the villa.

Vivienne could definitely feel that there was something different about him and she loved it. He actually listened unlike his brother and was patient with her and in a matter of minutes, the car came to a stop outside of the villa.

Turning off the engine, Andrew paused for a bit as he contemplated about something. His arms on the wheel as he glanced at Vivienne who beamed a warm smile back at him. "Thank you." He mused before exiting the car.

'Did...did he just thank me?' She was perplexed as he helped her out and before they could make it far, a person she was far too familiar with popped up. "So how'd it go?" Ashley asked with a warm smile.

Vivienne had anticipated her to be angry but it would seem not. "It went well. Though we'll have a guest for the meanwhile." Vivienne beamed a smile to which was reciprocated back to her.

Andrew wanted to give her time to process her thoughts thus he let Renarion guide her to her room while he made his way to his with Ashley. As the two crashed on the bed, Ashley was able to see that something was off with Andrew.

"I heard and understood what you were talking about with Vivienne." She started off which didn't fail to surprise him. "And for it, I apologize..." Tears formed in her eyes as she broke off into sobs.

"I should have been more considerate with you but my selfishness blinded me into making me do the things I did." Her demeanor was a sharp contrast to before with her smile.

Andrew wrapped his arms around her like a child to which she coiled herself further. "It's fine to make mistakes, Ashley." He reassured her as he played with her hair. "But what kind of monster would do the things I did. I, I don't think that I deserve you Andrew."

"I didn't know that I was forcing you to put an act for me. I do love you but if I keep on hurting those around you, then I don't think that I should be around you much less be your wife." She broke down further into cries and sobs.

"Ashley, stop being so hard on yourself. Besides I'm at fault as well with the shallow and pretentious attention I've been giving you." Her sobs came to a stop as she looked at Andrew, the person who she had broken down and claimed for herself but at what cost.

'This isn't how lovers usually are.' Andrew flashed a smile as he reassured and comforted her. "From now on, I promise that I'll treat you better and stop with the falsehood and pretentious acts."

"...And I'll be more considerate about the choices you make but that doesn't apply to others. There's no need for me to act about others while clearly I don't." Andrew barely held his laughter as he heard this. "That's all I'll need."

And with that muse, he wrapped his arms around her to which she reciprocated. As her figure was adjacent to his, it didn't take long for her to fall asleep leaving Andrew alone with his thoughts. Knowing the flaws that he had been ignorant of before, he vowed to make a change for the better.

'Ashley...' He couldn't help but think as his hand caressed her cute face before he fell asleep.
