Estrella's brain shook as the side of her head caved in, her skull broken. Her sight turned blurry, the only thing keeping her up being the hand she still had clasped on Balk's.
Hannah cried harder as a kick hit Estrella's side in the next moment, the opposite momentum it transferred to her nullifying the one trying to send her to the ground. Her feet remained pasted on the dark red patch of earth, but she bent in such a way that it would not be a surprise if she had broken ribs, torn internals, and distorted or broken spine.
It was too harsh to look at, but that was all Hannah could do, as blows rained down on the helpless Estrella. Her bones were broken, her flesh torn, but without much blood coming out, as there was not even much of it in her veins anymore.
