Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : Not a hero anymore ?

Ugh! He woke up with a headache, a feeling similar to that of a head hit by a hammer.

While he was recovering from his emotions, he tried to move his hands but in vain. Instead, he felt like he was wading in some kind of water.

What's going on?

It was not planned.

He should have reincarnated in a luminous temple surrounded by divinity and buildings white as the heavens.

But instead, he was locked in a black cocoon.

Status window! Show me my status!

Name: Deus

Occupation: H#r°?

Level: 1

Force (0+10/100)

Agilité (0+10/100)

Endurance (0+10/100)

Intelligence (0+70/100)

Chance (0+30/100)

Diplomatie (0+30/100)

Deus looked at his window. His hero status was completely corrupted. He even lost his preset stats. However, his statistics could be retrieved easily.

But... the status of hero...

Never mind.

He was reincarnated because he was asked to save the world, but now that he was no longer a hero, he had to focus on his survival. It was more important.

Current breed : Tree

Oh. Huh? Huhh??

Tree? Not human? He felt that his bad premonition had finally come to an end.

He knew it! He should never have trusted this scammer. An old man with a beard? Never trust!

Sighs.

What should he have done?

He would walk to the nearest village, ask for directions to the city, find an adventurer guild and then start taking quests. Otherwise he would also start working in an inn or guild.

He didn't want to brag but in his previous life, he was pretty good at paperwork.

But a tree has no legs.

Am I stuck?

But how am I supposed to eat for a living?

Nutrients?

Oh of course. I am a tree that only needs sun and water.

He would grow as time passed.

As he resigned himself to living like a tree for the next few decades, a familiar voice reasoned in his head.

Old con men!

Show me your ass, motherfucker!

"...?"

Five minutes later.

Oh sorry.

He didn't know.

"It's all right..."

The administrator who was gratuitously insulted shook his head sharply. Perhaps it was better that way, he would not need to repay him. He could mention this situation to him after...

"So we were attacking in mid-flight? And we lost our status during the descent? Wait... You're telling me some are dead?! There is no security?!!"

The expression of the administrator has decomposed. "Listen a little..."

Silent Deus nodded.

It's all right.

He hated his silent trait that was activated every time he reached a stress threshold, but currently he thanked himself.

So the administrator could speak calmly.

"We lost many along the way, we planned to compensate for some traits that might have been corrupted but..."

The administrator looked at his body.

He had appeared spectrally.

"But what?"

"You have become a kind of tree."

"How is that possible?"

Worried about Deus.

"Well, you must have been diverted from your original trajectory, fell into a forest and the tree has preserved your essence. Your soul."

It's really dead. Hug.

The administrator coughed.

"Don't worry. We will pay for the damage! Ask us for your wishes within reasonable limits. We will carry them out."

Deus began to think.

What could he use right now? He lost his status as a hero. Asking for something on the ground with this status would be useless.

Can he change jobs?

"Of course!"

Then I would like to have a book-related job.

Books?

The administrator thinks for two seconds.

"Isn't that possible?"

His voice was tinged with disappointment.

"It's possible!"

He snapped his fingers and immediately changed his status to "librarian".

Oh, that's really possible.

He also wanted to snap his fingers, shake his hands and open portals.

Then another line was displayed.

Domain: Library.

What is it?

Its cocoon began to melt and a new coin appeared, the size of a university library.

"Say it's a gift. You said books, right? You must be passionate, being a tree is boring enough to commit suicide. Instead of just rotting in this dark space, it's better to be busy."

The administrator scratched his head.

"Materials can be materialized in the field through thought."

Deus imagined a book and it materialized in his hand. However, its contents were filled with blank pages without writing.

He added. "You can't copy knowledge from another world. The best way is to rewrite it with memory."

He nodded.

"Remember that everything in this space is an expensive dimension of your body. As you level up, the space will increase and the interference with reality will be increased."

"Could I summon objects outside and inside my dimensional pocket?"

The administrator nodded.

"That's too bad. It looks like time is up. It was a good time to talk with you. Hoping that your path will lead you where your heart desires."

"Wait, I have a question! You said we were attacked in mid-flight. So who attacked us?"

It's-

The administrator who became increasingly transparent disappeared.

He didn't hear the administrator. Damn.

Now that he was all alone, he looked at the great library with bewitched air.

It was a large size that could accommodate hundreds of students, thousands of books to store a large amount of knowledge.

Deus was afraid.

Fear of losing memories.

As he lived, time would pass and his memory would be diluted like water mixed with mud.

It had become a tree.

He had plenty of time.

Lots of time.

Maybe years from now.

Decades

Or even centuries.

By making a pen appear through thought

, he began to sit on a wooden desk and write silently in a book, in this world separated from reality.
