I pushed myself up as I watched Saffron pressing down against Halim's Aetheris. The shockwaves emanating from their clash would've sent me rolling, but my shadow had transformed into a barrier. It must've been Saffron's doing.
Gripping Sparkly, I rose to my feet. My body felt funny, but it wasn't because I was thrown to the ground. Even when fighting Halim, I felt... stronger. As if I could do it. It was diffirent from when I fought Cyra's dad. That was driven more so by rage.
This was different. It was like the strength Amaryllis showed in my dreams of her life... had I somehow tapped into more of my past life's abilities? This overwhelming mana which was more like a curse than a blessing for most of my life was hers.
Watching Saffron, his golden flames clashing against Halim's indomitable defense, I felt a surge of determination. This was the time to break our current limits.
