Chapter 6 - Training island

Kame House - The Next Day

The next morning, Master Roshi and Krillin stepped out of Kame House. Roshi took out a capsule, pressed the button, and threw it. Poof! The house shrunk into a small capsule, which he carefully stored away.

Then, he pulled out another capsule, tossed it into the ocean, and—Boom!—a hover boat appeared.

"Alright, boys! Let's go!" Roshi called out as he hopped aboard.

Alex and Krillin climbed on, and the boat took off toward the south of the island.

"Where are we going, Master Roshi?" Alex asked.

"We're heading to Training Island," Krillin answered with excitement. "That's where Master Roshi trained me and Goku!"

Training Island

Soon, they arrived at the island—a large, vibrant landmass filled with dense jungles, scattered villages, and a variety of wildlife.

After setting up Kame House again, Master Roshi turned to Alex.

"Up for a short martial arts lesson before dinner?"

"Of course, Master Roshi!" Alex replied eagerly.

The trio moved outside.

"Before I start training you, I need to test your current ability," Roshi said. "Let's begin with a simple speed test."

He pointed to a tree in the distance.

"We'll start from here and finish at that tree—about a hundred meters away." Roshi pulled out a stopwatch. "Running is a good test of speed and endurance. Krillin, you go first."

"Sure thing, Master!" Krillin stepped up to the starting line.

"Go!"

Whoosh! Krillin disappeared in a blur, crossing the finish line almost instantly.

"Three point nine seconds," Roshi announced.

"Not bad!" Krillin grinned.

Now, it was Alex's turn.

Taking a deep breath, he got into position.

"Go!"

Alex sprinted forward, pushing himself as hard as he could. His muscles burned as he reached the finish line.

"How was it?" he panted.

"Twelve point one seconds," Roshi said.

"A bit slower than I was when I first started," Krillin noted.

Roshi stroked his beard. "To become a great fighter, you must push beyond the limits of an ordinary person—just like Krillin here. And let me tell you, that's no easy feat."

Alex clenched his fists. This is just the beginning.

Roshi smiled. "Alright, that's enough for today. Get some rest—we start real training tomorrow."

Later that evening, Krillin took Alex fishing. As they sat by the water, Krillin reminisced about his past training.

"You know, Goku and I used to train like crazy. We even had to push mountain-sized rocks to prepare for the World Martial Arts Tournament."

"This Goku guy you've been talking about—how strong is he compared to you?" Alex asked.

Krillin laughed. "Goku? He's the strongest on the planet. He's the only one keeping Piccolo in check."

"Where is he now?"

"He settled down. Married Chi-Chi and everything."

Alex hummed in thought. "So, if he's so strong, why is Piccolo still alive?"

Krillin blinked. "Huh?"

Alex continued, "If he was really unbeatable, he could've taken Piccolo out for good. But Piccolo's still around, right? That means he's still a threat."

Krillin frowned. "Well, I guess... but Goku has his reasons. He doesn't just kill people."

Alex smirked. "Either way, I'm not a fan of relying on someone else to protect me. If Piccolo's a problem, I'd rather be strong enough to handle him myself."

Krillin raised an eyebrow. "You? No offense, but even the weakest fighters in the World Martial Arts Tournament were stronger than you are now."

Alex chuckled. "We'll see about that."

Krillin yawned. "Anyway, we should head back. You've got an early morning tomorrow."

"Yeah, let's go."

As they made their way back to Kame House, Alex's determination burned brighter than ever. Surpass Goku and Piccolo, huh? That sounds like a challenge worth taking.
