Chapter 25 - Can I trust you?

Weird smiled, "I have a small to ask you as well. Can I trust you?" I looked quizzed, "Is this punk day?" He laughed, "I was wondering if I could borrow one of your dogs for a few hours." I laughed back, "I don't have dogs. I have wolves for pets." He looked at me like I was crazy. "You can't have wolves for pets." I flashed my teeth, "I am a multi-billionaire going close to a trillion. I can get wild cats as pets if I want to." He nods his head and asked me again. I asked why he wanted my baby for. He smiled, "Edge said it has found everything from bombs to missing people. So I need to borrow one for a few hours." I shook my head, "Those puppies are my babies, I will not lose any to a bomb or some psycho. Pass." I stormed off and he chased after me, "A six-year-old kid is missing. Please help me find her in the woods." I turned around, "My puppies take orders from me and no one else. So if you want to borrow them, I go too." This revelation got mixed reactions but he agreed.

I brought Winter and Hunter to where Weird told me to go. I even changed into hiking clothes. I reached there to see my older sister, her husband, and Weird waiting for me. I drove my Ariel Nomad that made personal modifications to. The look of the vehicle surprised everyone but I didn't care. I asked them to give me something that belonged to the kid that was missing. They gave me a t-shirt. The wolves sniffed it and waited for my command. I opened my backpack and released a drone to keep an eye on them. I waved my hand. They shot like a bullet. The drone followed them as they tracked the kid who was holding on to a rock. I had placed a special collar on their neck so I could talk to her. They swam to her and brought her back to me in one piece. My sister was shocked because she didn't see any images from the drone. She only saw ones and zeros. But she heard the girl's voice, she began to weep. She stood quietly as the wolves brought her back safely. The girl squealed, "Auntie" she hugged my sister as I walked the puppies to the vehicle and pulled out a huge piece of brisket. I dropped it and watched smiling as they ripped it to pieces.

I laughed merrily as they finished their meal. I picked up a bottle of water and poured it into a dish for the puppies to drink. The puppies came one by one and I wiped their faces of blood and kissed them like they were my babies. I cooed, "Do you want to go for an adventure? Yes! Yes! Yes! Ok!" They howled like they were excited. I called Bob, Di, and Basher as the puppies hopped on and I drove off for the fun of it. We howled like wolves till we found my darlings with the rest of the pack.

We had dug a pit and lined it with bricks and lit a fire and was roasting meat when Weird and the duo plus mini one came over. The little one smiled and walked towards the wolves without fear and they let her scratch them before they settle around me like I was their alpha. Di laughed, "Hey Wolf girl! What did you do to my puppies?" I complained, "They were my babies before you got attached to them." Weird introduced them all wrong. He pointed at Basher and said this was Sembi. He pointed at Di and said it was Edge. He pointed at Bob and said he was Breaker. I laughed as they corrected him angrily. They even explained where their jobs if that would help. This made Weird apologize. Basher growled, "Now I know why you nicknamed him Weird." His expression certainly mirrored his name. He looked at me, "Why did you nickname me Weird? My name is Taylor Johnson. I was master-chief in the Delta Force. My designed name was Bravo One. So how did I get nicknamed Weird?" "The day we met you gave me weird expressions as I tried to pacify the rift between you and Lena. She finally suggested that you take a shower and a change of clothes. You showed me an expression I had never seen in my life. I have tried to find the likeness but so far I have no luck. So your nickname is Weird." Basher turned to Big sis, "Your nickname is the easiest to remember, Coward". She lowered her head and stepped away understanding that she was not welcome here.
