Chapter 6 - 6)To the capital?

(not edited)

"THUD!"

A noise awoke Chin-hae and he opened his eyes, it was morning and the sun was still rising into the bright clear blue sky. Here he could see both the moon and sun clear as day because there was practically no air pollution. In his old world the citys and the cars had long made it almost impossible to see the sky clearly.

"THUMP, THUMMPP, THUUUMP!"

Chin-had looked down from the sky down to the road beneath him and the carriage. The road was just dirt so there were many rocks and pebbles in the way, jostling the carriage every time t he weeks turned. Leaning back down again he closed his eyes, soaking up what sunshine he could.

He was currently hiding into of a carriage that was headed out of the village and into the capital. If he was able to reach the capital from there he could be able to find a job somewhere preferably at a bar or restaurant but beggars can't be choosers, if he was able to get money doing hard labor than hard labor it was.

The next time the carriage stoped it was night. It seemed that they would be spending the night outside. The carriage door opened and a couple stepped out walking out to talk to there driver. Using there conversation as a way to practice the new worlds language he listened carefully.

Tracing the letters that matches with the conversation he used the nail from his imprisonment on to a pice of bark. By the light of the fire he slept wrapped in his coat hiding in a nearby tree wishing for the warmth of a house and good food. On the second day he overheard the part of the conversation he had been waiting for, the capital was close the carriage would reach it by the afternoon.

A small smile rose onto his pale sunken in face, he really couldn't wait for somewhere warm to sleep...

—Afternoon—

The sun was headed down and the day had considerably cooled down he had some rations left so he only had a couple of days to find a job. This could go well or horrible, if he needed to pay for a room he then also needed to buy medical bandages after all, his wrists and other bruises and cuts stood out too much, nobody would take a troublemaker. After paying a toll at the entrance of the city he had 5 silver and 10 gold left, along with his last price of meat and his two star fruits. He had tried to limit his food to twice a day and was feeling very light headed. Hunger constantly nawing at his stomach asking for more, while he had a certain immunity to it, it wasn't at all pleasant.

After getting a inn room for 2 weeks along with food all meals of the day and buying his needed medical supplies his remaining money counted up to 3 silver and 4 gold, enough to buy 2 pairs of new cloths, something he desperately needed. After buying his cloths and washing his old smelly ones he took and long bath in the remaining warm water. He couldn't afford getting soap so he used some freshly picked herbs he had found in the forest where he had found the abandoned carriage.

Thankful for the warm meat and porridge in his stomach he slept soundly under the thick blanket as the moon rose into the night sky.

—The next morning—

"Hey, do you mid my asking but are there any bars or restaurants looking for a worker?" Chin-hae asked the waiter setting his table carful not to revel his wrapped wrists.

The woman laughed, her smile was bright, "Of course son! If your looking for a place to work why not here? It just so happens that my son left with his husband and so we need a new bar tender. Would you like to try it out? It's 2 silvers for a whole night."

Chin-hae reigned in his surprise it seemed like gay marriage and straight marriage were both things that happened here, well he had certainly seen a lot of gay couples walking around in the capital while he toured around yesterday.

He slightly smiled at the woman his eyes surprisingly soft before saying, "Of course id love too, before i left my town i had worked the bar so i'm familiar with it."

While what he said was true it wasn't him but the previous body's owner who worked there, he had a very strong tolerance to alcohol and was very quick on his feet both these grates were thanks to his father. The only drink his father ever gave him was alcohol, if he wanted water he would have had to go to the river. Which was also where he had to bath because there house was basically in the slums. When the restaurant owner saw his high alcohol tolerance and his steady hands and fast feet he had offered him a job.

"Well than welcome to the black bear! What's your name?"

The woman's smiling face was full of honest happiness and even though he had only know her for a short while he felt his inner walls breaking down much to quickly.

"Well you can just call me Salis."
