The origins of cultivating are unknown.
Ancient priests regarded cultivation as the most secretive of all matters, with a closed-off environment, system, territory, and personnel... Given the sparse population and various inconveniences back then, one could say they were truly reclusive experts.
But with the changes in thought and society today, cultivation has become relatively popular. Over thirty years since the revival of Spiritual Energy, there are several million priests in The Kingdom of Jushi, many more than the total number from all previous dynasties combined.
