Chapter 1 - Young man's way of life

Alex fortune had always seemed to stand beside him like an ever-watchful guardian. At just eighteen years of age, he found himself in a position that many could only dream of—crowned as the youngest billionaire in the state. His success was not merely a fluke of wealth; it was deeply rooted in the illustrious royal lineage he was born into, a legacy that not only opened doors but also thrust him into a life of luxury and unending possibilities.

As the sole heir to his family's vast empire, Alex had inherited a sprawling collection of assets—a glittering array of luxurious estates that enhanced his world, a portfolio filled with five-star hotels that catered to the affluent, gourmet restaurants that delighted the palate, and a diverse array of investments that included stocks and meticulous long-term bonds. His late father, a formidable political broker and strategist, had skillfully amassed this wealth, weaving it together like a masterful tapestry. With his father's passing, the mantle of responsibility had fallen squarely on John's shoulders, transforming him into the family's protector and benevolent benefactor.

Before his untimely death, Alex's father had encouraged him to explore a path in the military—a choice that initially seemed bold and perhaps even reckless given Alexi's youth and riches. Surprisingly, the rigors of military life suited Alex well. He found a purpose in the discipline and structure that the profession demanded, and he was quickly ascending through the ranks, earning respect and admiration in an environment that taught him resilience and fortitude.

Romance weaved its way into Alex's life, where he was known for being not just charming but genuinely attentive, a lover who took the time to make each encounter feel special and cherished. His admirers were plentiful, but one stood out above the rest—Sarah.

Sarah was the unparalleled jewel in Alexi's heart, his compass in a world filled with temptations. With her breathtaking beauty, characterized by her iconic braided hair, elegant long nails, and a mesmerizing radiant complexion that seemed to attract admiration from anyone fortunate enough to cross her path, she was a sight to behold. Her soft-spoken nature and ability to carry herself with grace made her even more captivating. Compliments perpetually surrounded her, and she accepted them with a modest charm that endeared her to everyone around.

A first-year medical student at a prestigious institution, Sarah was fiercely dedicated to her studies. However, she maintained a notably carefree attitude when it came to handling daily chores, much toAlexi's bemusement. Household tasks simply did not capture her interest. More often than not, she would playfully nudge Alex to hire help for cleaning and maintenance, turning to him with an enchanting smile that made it nearly impossible for him to turn her down.

They lived in a cozy one-bedroom apartment, a delightful sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and shared dreams. All expenses were generously covered by Alex, a testament to his unwavering devotion to her and the life they were building together.

One particularly grueling day, after maneuvering through a whirlwind of responsibilities and decisions, Alex returned home, thoroughly exhausted. As he stepped through the door, the thought of the vibrant evening party his friends had organized danced in his mind, momentarily lifting the weight of the day from his shoulders. He was eager to drop off his bag and immerse himself in the anticipated festivities. Little did he know, the night was poised to take unexpected turns.

Eager anticipation filled the air as Alex entered his room, only to be greeted by a delightful surprise: Sarah was lounging on the couch, her eyes sparkling with joy at the sight of him. She sprang up to envelop him in a warm embrace, and in that moment, he felt a familiar rush of affection wash over him—she was the bright spot in his chaotic life.

Yet, beneath the surface of their sweet reunion, Alex felt an unsettling heaviness in his heart. The realization that his plans to attend the party were slipping through his fingers weighed on him. How could he bear the thought of leaving Sarah alone while the vibrant revelry pulsed just beyond their apartment walls? With so many women prepared for the evening, bringing Sarah along seemed like a reckless decision, one that could lead to unnecessary tensions. A flood of conflicting emotions surged within him, sowing a whirlwind of questions as he desperately searched for a solution.

As he took stock of the scene around him, frustration surged through him like a tidal wave. The guest room was in disarray, with dirty dishes piled high and a chaotic heap of clothes strewn carelessly across the floor, demanding immediate attention. It was overwhelming. In a moment of exasperation, he let slip an unguarded remark. "What kind of girlfriend are you? You can't even tidy up my room!" The words hung palpably in the air, their sharpness startling both him and Sasha.

Her expression shifted dramatically from joy to hurt, confusion flooding her features as she processed his unexpected outburst. The tension in the room thickened as she stood her ground, ready to defend herself. "I'm too beautiful for house chores! I'm just your girlfriend, not your wife!" she retorted, her voice steadying as she drew on confidence. The air crackled with the sudden realization that their roles had shifted in an instant, opening a door to a deeper conflict that neither had anticipated.

Feeling cornered in an uncomfortable situation, Alex—a genuinely good-hearted guy despite his flaws—took a deep breath and stood up. In a misguided attempt to assert his masculinity, he delivered a gentle slap on Sarah's arm, meant more as a warning than an act of aggression. To his dismay, Sarah's eyes widened in shock, and within moments, her emotional facade crumbled. She felt utterly betrayed, the sting of his touch igniting a raw wave of emotion that erupted into loud, uncontrollable tears, wailing so passionately that it drew the concerned attention of their neighbors.

As the sound of her cries echoed through the rooms, Alex's s frustration quickly morphed into a desperate need to maintain his image as the "cool guy." He shifted his posture, half-smiling in a way that he hoped appeared reassuring and calm, as he reached out to soothe her. "Hey, hey, it's okay," he murmured, his voice almost theatrically soft as he tried to reconcile the situation and save face.

After several long moments, Sarah sobs began to taper off, but she still clung to the pretense of being upset. With a melodramatic flourish, she retreated into another room, slamming the door behind her with a decisive click that echoed in the silence. Alex, sensing this as a window of opportunity to escape the tension, inhaled deeply and decided to make a break for it, craving the solace and camaraderie of his friends.

As he glanced at his phone, his heart sank—a barrage of ten missed calls from Kevo stared back at him. Alex and Kevo had been inseparable since childhood, sharing countless memories and adventures. He couldn't help but hope fervently that the charming girl he had arranged to bring to the party was still available; the event required each attendee to come in pairs, and he felt the weight of that expectation pressing down on him.

Before he knew it, he was racing toward the party, an exhilarating rush of joy coursing through his veins. The anticipation of reuniting with his friends flooded his mind, igniting a sense of eagerness that propelled him forward. Each step quickened as he envisioned the night ahead, packed with laughter and carefree moments.

He hopped onto a sleek motorcycle waiting curbside, the powerful engine roaring to life beneath him, vibrating with energy as it surged down the street at breakneck speed. With the wind whipping against his face, Alex reveled in the adrenaline, urging the rider to pick up the pace even more; he had a plan simmering in his mind. Getting to the party early not only meant claiming a prime spot but also offered him the delightful opportunity to mingle and choose from a stunning array of dazzling ladies—something that thrilled him to the core. In his heart, he believed wholeheartedly in the old saying, "the early bird catches the worm."

However, fate had a darker turn in store. As they zipped toward the venue, a frustrating payment issue emerged, causing them to come to an abrupt halt. Alex felt an unsettling tension rise within him as he fumbled with his phone, attempting to finalize the transaction again and again, each effort met with a frustrating decline that only added to his growing anxiety.

Realizing he was out of options and needed backup, he quickly scanned the crowd for Kevo, who always seemed to possess a knack for helping him out in tight spots. After what felt like an eternity, his eyes finally spotted his friend, and without wasting a moment, John sprinted over, breathless with urgency as he asked for a quick loan of cash.

"Please, man, just for a moment," he pleaded, urgency lacing his voice.

Kevo, noticing Alex's distressed expression, immediately handed over the necessary cash without hesitation, a look of understanding in his eyes. Grateful, Alex hurried back, settled his debt with the cyclist who had been waiting patiently, and breathed a sigh of relief. Now, at long last, he was ready to step into the vibrant atmosphere of the party, anticipation bubbling within him for the unforgettable night that lay ahead, filled with laughter, friendship, and endless possibilities.
