The throne room was eerily silent.
Azazel lounged on his obsidian seat, watching Yui approach like a hunter indulging a mouse.
"You've been… researching," he said, voice calm but laced with warning.
Yui didn't flinch.
"I know about the First Flame," she said. "The one that chose me. He said you rebelled against him."
A pause.
Then a slow smile curved Azazel's lips—dangerous, predatory.
"You've been dreaming of gods again."
"It wasn't a dream."
Azazel stood, shadows curling around his form like living smoke. He stepped down from the throne, towering over her. His voice lowered to a growl.
"He is not a god. He is a ruin. A mistake born of obsession."
Yui clenched her fists. "Then why does his power live inside me?"
Azazel's smile faded.
"You were supposed to carry my flame. My contract. But now…" His eyes narrowed, searching her soul. "You're a vessel of two kings."

Part II: The Imperial Envoy
A blare of silver trumpets shattered the tension.
A tall figure in crimson armor marched into the chamber, flanked by imperial mages. His presence choked the air—regal, merciless, cold.
He bowed stiffly. "I bring a decree from the Imperial Crown. Lady Lilliana Evernight is to return to the capital. Immediately."
Yui's blood went cold.

Azazel's gaze flicked to her. "You are not ready."

But the real shock came as the envoy stepped aside… and revealed the second figure walking in behind him.
A young man.
Familiar.
The boy who had pushed her out of the way of the truck in her past life.
Alive.
Here.
And staring right at her.
"…Yui?" he whispered.
