The day kicks off as the group wake up and they start to pack their things to continue traveling to go to the safe zone
"Hey Emily, your dad has a gun collection, right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"We could go there and grab some guns so we can have some protection on our way to the airport. It's our only hope."
"Yeah, good thinking, Nathan."
Samantha soon starts the van and they set off to the direction of the airport but Emily and Nathan stops her
"Hey Samantha, let's go to Emily's house first so we can stock up on some guns, we can have our chances better if we have weapons"
"Yeah, I was also thinking about that yesterday, I'm glad you brought it up right now. Let's go there!"
Samantha turns the van around to the direction of Emily's dad's house
"Look Jay, the streets are full of blood and scary people."
"Yeah, but don't worry May, I'll protect you from those scary people."
"We should call them the undead, right kids?"
Rose jokes with the twins
"Yeah, scary people is very boring and they are already dead so let's call them the undead."
The path soon reaches a dead end because of a collapsed building so the group thinks of a way to get around
"I hate this now! It's a dead end!"
"Calm down Jacob, we can always think of a way to go around this, am I right?"
"Yeah you are right, but it's gotta be a hassle now Nathan."
"You two, stop arguing! We will continue on foot right then and there so shut up both of you!"
Samantha crashes out from annoyance as she shouts at the two arguing
"Samantha, I know a way to dad's house from here, we will just cross a medical facility and hope there are survivors there"
"Lead the way Emily before I slap these two out of their minds."
"Geez, you're getting scary, Samantha!"
The group enters an alley way but the exit is blocked by a fence so the group goes inside a apartment complex and they traverse through the building
"Hey guys, I found a fire axe, I could use this bad boy to kill those undead people now!"
"Yeah yeah, lucky you Jacob, you always get the good things!"
Rose says to Jacob playfully
"Over here guys, I can see the medical facility now! Let's climb down these stairs!"
The group soon climbs down the apartment complex second floor and they successfully reach the medical facility where it is fortified with metal fences. They soon climb on the fence but a scientist notices them and points a hunting rifle at the group
"Who are you people and why are you climbing to my fort? The virus already spread throughout america so there is no safe zone here! Get out!"
"Don't shoot sir! We are friendly!"
"I'm sure your asses are friendly but I cannot be sure if you all are not infected with the X Flu!"
"We are not infected, sir, you can be safe with us, besides if we are infected we have turned into the undead moments ago!"
"You have a point, but just in case..."
The scientist made the group go on a room and he made them sit there for 2 hours
"If you all are infected you will turn into those undead within 2 hours, that's the normal rate of the new variant."
"New variant? You mean there is a new mutation of the virus?"
"Yes, I discovered it earlier when I'm experiment with the virus."
Su Yeon gets intrigued and she asked about the variants name
"Hey scientist, what is the name of the variant?"
"I am calling it the undead variant, it is a fusion of the Angels Variant and the devils variant and it is much more likely to turn a human into the undead."
"But let me ask you something, how did the virus came to be?"
"I know the answer for that... I had a friend in India back in December... He is a doctor at one of the hospitals there and one day, a man came by his hospital and the man complains about eating contaminated pork from a street vendor in Delhi. As my fried gets ready to examine him, the man suddenly starts vomiting blood and soon he vomits his stomach and intestines. My friend got shocked by it and he decided to call for help but the man closed his mouth, severing his stomach and intestines from inside and the man becomes berserk and it attacks my friend but he managed to fend thean away."
"So that is patient zero I suppose."
"Not really, several cases of those incidents happened in India and it's the first variant of the X Flu, symptoms are vomiting and extreme fever, takes 10 days to turn undead and is dubbed the mad variant."
2 hours pass and the scientist finally let's go of the group
"Hey mister, what's your name?"
"Alfred, I don't have any more time left because I have severe cancer now... The virus originated in India so if you are looking for a cure then go to India."
Just then, a suddenly explosion near the area occurs and it attracts a very large hoard
"HOARD! EVERYONE RUN TO SAFETY!"
Alfred shouts at everyone while readying his rifle
"Everyone stay back, there is an exit at the back! Go there and go now, I will hold them off!"
"Alfred don't be foolish, come with us!"
"Just take my rifle!"
Alfred puts his rifle on his duffle bag and he puts some ammo there and he throws it and Su Yeon picks it up
"You young ones get out of here and just leave me alone!"
The group soon leaves Alfred behind as he holds off the massive hoard. Alfred is soon beaten by the infected, his eyes were gouged from his sockets and his stomach was torn open and his insides were eaten, his head was decapitated and his limbs detached. What horrors does Samantha's group have to endure to Survive...
