'Thanks Leo.' Xie Yang replied in his mind before making his way up the stairs to the classroom.
Leo was a hallucination that he'd conjured up when he almost his mind during the time he had endured 3 months of torture. His wish for companionship in his time of need led to the existence of Leo.
After all they say "Misery loves company" even if that company was a mere figment of one's own imagination.
Although the thing about him being a hallucination was diagnosed by a doctor, Xie Yang personally didn't believe that. Leo's range of activities far exceeded than that of trivial hallucinations.
Leo wasn't tied to Xie Yang. He could freely move around. Walking through walls, flying to higher floors etc. was completely possible for him.
Moreover his biggest advantage was being able to gather information without anyone knowing.
In his previous life, Xie Yang had used this skill of his and took down several people who dared to cross his bottom line.
At the end of the day, you can guard against a visible enemy but against an invisible enemy? One can only be vulnerable. Like a cornered prey in front of a predator with neither a place to run or hide nor a place to bite since the predator isn't visible to them but they sure as hell can feel it's presence.
The people he took down would pull out all their hair off in frustration but still they wouldn't be able to find where the information had leaked from.
Seeing them distance themselves from everyone becoming paranoid to the extreme gave him a sense of schadenfreude.
However, he generally refrained from using that trick.
For starters, Leo was his friend. He didn't wanna use Leo for success. He didn't need a cheat code to be successful. He was fully capable of it himself.
Also that method was rather brutal so he didn't use it on anyone except those who really crossed the line.
"Hey! Did you see what happened in that show?….."
"Omg! I totally did!….."
"You bastards! Give me back my phone!!"
"Come and get it back yourself idiot~"
By the time Xie Yang found his classroom, it was already the time for school to start so the corridors had slowly started to be filled with students.
When he entered his classroom, there were already students laughing, chatting & reading.
"Good morning Pres~!" echoed through out the classroom as students greeted him. They too like the staff members asked about his new style.
"Good morning everyone." Xie Yang greeted back and explained that he just felt like changing things up which they acknowledged as they praised & teased him about the same.
Xie Yang took it all in good fun and teased some of them back.
"Fourth row, third column." Leo said as he floated up curiously to observe the students.
Xie Yang walked to his seat beside the window and sat down. He took out the breakfast he bought and was about to dig in when he heard a feminine voice call out to him.
"Pres~ Did you watch the latest episode of hellfire last night?" A cute girl with dimples asked with a smile as she came over accompanied by few of her friends.
"Jiang Yanxi, call her Ah-Xi." Leo replied as he huddled together along with a group of boys to read a comic book.
"Unfortunately not, Ah-Xi. I apologize, I got caught up in work." Xie Yang replied while smiling apologetically.
Jiang Yanxi immediately blushed red like tomato when she heard Xie Yang's pleasant voice call her by her nickname.
She like other girls had also dreamt of being Xie Yang's girlfriend.
All the other boys in their circle were wealthy second or third generations. All of them were raised with a lot of freedom and love making them spoiled and arrogant.
Despite Xie Yang's mediocre background, he grew up to be a gentleman knowing both manners and etiquette giving off a mature and cultural vibe.
Even though his background wasn't the best, just his face and behaviour was enough for the girls to choose him over the little ancestors of big families.
Comparing the other boys their age to Xie Yang was like comparing pure jade to rocks on the ground.
"I-it's no worries Pres. I know you must be busy with the work of student council and the different competitions." Jiang Yanxi stammered out bashfully.
'Ahhhhhhh why did i stutter??? What if he thinks I'm weird??? Waaaah!!!'
She noticed the breakfast spread on Xie Yang's desk and immediately regretted asking such a stupid question. He didn't even have time to eat breakfast and here she was being a nuisance.
Jiang Yanxi lowered her head in embarrassment. She could feel the steam rising out of her and she gripped on to her skirt tightly but above her she heard a crisp laugh.
The voice was clear and harmonious. Just listening to it made one imagine the beauty of the person.
As Jiang Yanxi was fighting an internal battle, Xie Yang found her stammering extremely cute. He couldn't help but chuckle at the bashful girl who was very clearly cringing in front of him.
Jiang Yanxi couldn't decide between keeping her head lowered due to embarrassment or looking up to see the Pres's amused face. In the end her desire for beauty won and she raised her head.
She could see that he had raised his hand to cover part of his face which hid his brilliant smile disappointing her but Xie Yang's peach blossom eyes narrowed in slits, full of laughter. She could also hear his vibrant laugh.
Xie Yang controlled himself as best as he could when he saw that she had lifted her head.
"Pres please finish your breakfast. I'm sorry for disturbing you." Jiang Yanxi remarked and was about to leave with red ears and steam still coming out of her head when Xie Yang stopped her.
He offered some of his breakfast to her and her friends who each politely took some and while he quickly finished the rest.
"Ah-Xi, Do you know where Kai is? I had something to tell him." Xie Yang inquired in a gentle voice while wiping his fingers with a wet wipe.
To Jiang Yanxi, it felt as if he was giving her a way out of her earlier embarrassment. Although she thought the way he naturally called that troublemaker's name was a little weird, she decided to ignore it.
"Classmate Zhou hasn't arrived yet. You know how he is, always coming late and causing trouble for both the teachers and you." She replied instantly with a hint of annoyance.
