Chapter 1 - The Meeting

Unique sat quietly in the wooden pew, her eyes resting on the old wooden window next to her. The warm afternoon light filtered through, casting soft shadows on the church floor. She loved how the wood looked simple but strong, much like herself. She had been coming to this church for almost two years now, but somehow, today felt different.

She was busy sketching some new dress ideas in her small notebook. Fashion designing was her passion, and whenever she felt lost or tired, drawing helped her calm down.

Dove sat two rows ahead, quietly singing along with the choir. He was of average height, with a gentle smile and eyes that seemed to notice everything around him. He had been a member of the church for several years and was well known for helping out with the Sunday school. Dove wasn't flashy or loud. Instead, he had a calm presence that made people feel safe.

As the service ended and people started moving toward the exit, Dove looked back and caught Unique's eyes. She smiled shyly and nodded. He returned the smile and slowly walked over to her.

"Hi Unique," he said softly. "I see you here almost every week. I'm glad to finally say hello."

Unique's cheeks warmed. "Hello, Dove. I usually keep to myself, but it's nice to meet you properly."

Dove noticed the notebook in her hand. "Fashion designs?"

Unique nodded. "Yes, I want to be a fashion designer. I've been working on some ideas. It helps me think."

They walked outside together, sharing small talk about the church, their favorite songs, and the little things in life. Dove loved how Unique was quiet but thoughtful, and Unique liked that Dove didn't rush his words.

In the following weeks, their friendship grew naturally. After church, they often met for coffee nearby or exchanged messages late at night. Dove was a good listener, always patient, and Unique felt comfortable opening up to him.

One evening, while chatting over messages, Unique shared her doubts. "Sometimes, I wonder if I'm good enough. If my dreams are too big."

Dove replied gently, "Big dreams need strong hearts. I believe you have both."

Their talks went deeper each time, about family, hopes, fears, and even past hurts they had never told anyone else.

But friendship is never simple.

One night, a message from Dove came too late, and when Unique finally read it, the words left her confused and hurt.
