Chapter 1 - Crossing The Boundary

"How many times must we warn you to not come into our territory."

Nicholas warned Greg, he was one curious cat.

"But hey, who I'm I to stop a powerful human like you."

Nicholas gestured for Greg to come in, Greg watched his sinister smile turn into a frown as he entered the garden.

The flowers were welcoming, the breeze made everything seem perfect, but when he lifted his head, he saw more wolves appear out of nowhere.

"What should we do with him?." They asked the Alpha Nicholas. Who just patted Greg on his back.

"He?, he is our friend you morons, without him how else were we going to get this opportunity."

The other wolfs got the point and smiled, Greg stood unmoved. He came with a weapon up his sleeves.

The silver arrow.

"Calm down, we won't hurt you." The wolves crossed the boundary happily howling as they made there way into the city.

Greg stood there wondering if he did the right thing.

He tried to go back home but he was stuck and drowning in sinking sand.

"We have missed you!." Nicholas announced as he stepped into the open field.

The farmers stopped working and they looked at him as though he was crazy.

"It seems you all have no idea who I am." He said disappointed.

He introduced himself as the new king unaware of the treason blooming within the pack.

Scott his twin brother had always felt betrayed and hurt by the gods.

But he did not loose hope he was going to be as strong as his brother, or even better.

He grabbed a human and snapped her neck.

"Unnecessary show off." The others said rolling there eyes.

He did not want to be forgotten. The other wolves surrounded Nicholas as they marched towards there old home.

"You are here." The man on seat said as soon as he set his eyes on Nicholas.

Bending his head to a corner, Nicholas responded.

"You remember me, finally some fear and respect."

"Not quite." The man replied. "This place which was once yours belongs to us now and you have no right to be here.

How dare you cross the boundary."

Nicholas explained rudely that a human crossed it first and if they could not keep there promise why should the wolfs.

The man on seat was fearless which angered Nicholas, how was it that no one trembled as soon as they stepped there foot here what happened?.

As he thought he saw a green crystal and a bat on the wall.

"I see, and I thought you were a human. What are you?."

The man smiled, Nicholas bent his head as the bat flew over his head.

"Vampires." Nicholas finally knew the reason. The people were too frightened of the vampires to recognize the power of the wolfs.

As the bats surrounded them Nicholas eyes glowed his anger and rage evident he took a bat in his hand and bit off its head.

The other bats fell dead but the minister was no where to be found.

"I urge you to leave this place, you have no right to be here." A reverend father spoke calmly.

There are more beasts where that came from and I promise you do not want to be a part of the horror.

Nicholas nodded and asked the men to fall back.

"Really, we are the real rulers of this place and you just gonna let some father tell you what to do."

Scott said arrogantly..

Nicholas explained to him that they needed a plan if they stayed they were going to die.

"You can stay and fight, but I and the others are leaving."

The other men left with Nicholas, but Scott stayed behind not for war but for treason.

"Why are you still here?". The reverend father asked.

"What will you give me if I hand over the wolfs to you."

The priests smiled.

"A traitor." He said.

Scott nodded. "You can call it whatever you want, I am his twin brother I have every right to be an Alpha, there can be more than one so why just him?."

The priest stroked his chin, he has seen this before.

Treason was not new to him. Where had he seen this. Ah yes.

"You know your father and I come a long way." The reverend father said to Scott. Scott grew up with a single mum.

"Of course, I know your father, we were like brothers, if people saw us they thought were related by blood but….

He betrayed me, and I killed him."

Scott's eyes widened with disbelief.

"So, do you really want to work with someone who took away the best part of your child hood."

He was silent for a while and then he walked away.

Greg still stuck in the wolfs garden was beginning to feel the sting of fear.

"What's wrong, what happened to your curiosity?."

Nicholas girlfriend Alisha asked mockingly.

Greg gulped hard.

"I am going to let you go out of pity, a cute boy like you deserves to be eaten, I mean freed."

Greg felt something was off, he would rather be stuck in the garden, than to be with this woman who claimed to let him go.

"I will wait for Nicholas."

She laughed. "Nicholas had being detained in this beautiful prison for a hundred years.

Do you think he will come back so soon after tasting freedom?."

Greg stood, taking in the environment one last time, the yellow flowers sang to him in a mysterious way.

Sometimes he wished he was not merely human.

He wished to be a sorcerer.

But one had to be born with such gift and he was not that lucky.

"Let him go, Mad!." Nicholas voice echoed through the garden. And she immediately disappeared.

Nicholas pulled Greg out of the sand.

"You should leave." Nicholas said sadly.

His home was no longer his, the vampires had taken over the city. Greg had being away for almost a year he came back because he had not seen or heard from his family for months.

"You might be surprised at what is out there always watch your back." Nicholas warned.

Greg left he missed his siblings but he promised himself, he must return to the garden.
