Victor Harrow smiled for the cameras. Flashbulbs exploded as he handed a giant check to the children's hospital director, a gesture that would make headlines worldwide. His sapphire-blue suit was tailored to perfection, his gray-streaked hair combed back like a silver crown. The billionaire was an icon—a man who gave millions, spoke of world peace, and promised a brighter future.
But beneath that polished exterior was something far darker.
"Thank you, Mr. Harrow," the hospital director beamed. "You've saved hundreds of lives."
Victor's smile widened, eyes crinkling at the edges. "That's what wealth is for—changing the world."
The crowd applauded. Reporters asked questions. He nodded, posed, then turned and walked briskly to his limousine. The door closed with a soft click, muffling the outside world.
Inside, his smile vanished.
"How much did that PR stunt cost us?" he asked coldly.
"Three million dollars," his assistant replied. "But projections show a 12% bump in public trust and a 6% rise in stock value for Harrow Industries."
Victor chuckled. "Always a good trade."
As the limo pulled away, his phone buzzed. A secure message appeared: Phase II complete. The village has been cleared. No survivors.
He stared at the message for a long moment, then deleted it.
