Chapter 16 - Where is Soldier Boy?

As if he heard a joke, Frenchie sneered, "Ten bullets in a magazine, I loaded them myself just over ten minutes ago, fired one shot, nine left."

"No need to look, don't play these little distraction tricks."

Butcher's face was full of shock and uncertainty, but he had a bad feeling in his heart. Information in his mind was rapidly being compared, trying to figure out which Superheroes under Vought had arrived, but nothing matched.

"Is that so?"

Russell slowly extended his hand, and a handful of gleaming yellow bullets clinked as they were scattered on the table, some large, some small.

"Son of a bitch Superheroes... telekinesis?"

Butcher and Frenchie quickly checked the guns in their hands and found that the magazines were indeed empty. Their hearts sank, and they subtly pulled Hughie back towards the door.

The timid Hughie was startled, covering his chest as he retreated.

His heart wouldn't be ripped out and placed in front of him the next second, right?

This action made Russell shake his head and laugh.

As soon as the three turned around, the person, along with the table and chairs, was already blocking the doorway, still in the same unchanged posture.

It was so strange that it made them think they were hallucinating.

Looking at the original spot, then looking ahead, Hughie shook his head to confirm he wasn't mistaken, his eyes wide with disbelief, "You... how did you do that?"

This was also the question Frenchie and Butcher, who were shocked and unnerved, wanted to ask.

But unfortunately, they didn't get an answer.

"Billy Butcher, where is Mallory?" Russell pointed at the stunned Butcher.

"Tell me, and I can let you go."

"You're not here to catch us?" Hughie was taken aback.

"Mallory?" Butcher's face was wary. At the same time, he secretly dug his fingernails into his palm, wanting to see if he had been hit by a psychic ability.

"What do you want with Mallory!"

Frenchie, who was standing nearby, showed a defensive posture upon hearing the name, clenching his fists nervously. It seemed that even if he couldn't beat Russell, he wanted to grit his teeth and fight him.

He was filled with guilt about this name.

He was once ordered to protect Colonel Mallory's grandson. That night, he left due to an incident, causing Mallory's grandson to be burned alive by Lamplighter, a former member of The Seven.

"Just asking some things." Russell slowly rose from the chair. Just one simple movement scared the three of them into retreating as if facing a formidable enemy, almost shrinking into the corner.

In this World, the Superheroes who could exchange blows with a Viltrumite could be counted on one hand. Furthermore, only two people likely had strength comparable to a Viltrumite.

"One is Homelander, the other is Soldier Boy."

Homelander can fly and has a long-range attack method that even Viltrumites don't have - laser eyes. For now, it seems he has the same problems to solve as facing Mark.

Russell, who can't fly, would find it hard to defeat him.

But Soldier Boy is different. He can't fly, and he is currently trapped in a military Base in Russia, forced to inhale nerve gas daily, which could cause a Carnage if leaked, leaving him anesthetized and powerless.

Moreover, his chest blast takes several seconds to charge up.

For Russell, it's no different from not existing.

"The difficulty - is how to quickly find that military Base across over seventeen million square kilometers."

Colonel Mallory was once a high-ranking official in the CIA and had some history, or rather, animosity, with Soldier Boy. She likely knows Soldier Boy's whereabouts.

In the plot, even Frenchie's ex-girlfriend, a gang leader, could find the information, so how could Mallory not have found it for years?

"Why would I tell you?"

Without a gun, facing a terrifying Superheroes, he felt completely insecure, Butcher gritted his teeth and said.

"Poor Butcher, do you know your wife is still alive?"

"Becca is still alive, where is she?"

Unexpectedly hearing news about his wife who had been missing for years, Butcher froze, his pupils dilated in shock, unable to believe it.

His wife, Becca, a Vought marketing planner, disappeared after being assaulted by Homelander. She spent a long time staring blankly on a park bench before vanishing, and no one has seen her since.

"Where is Mallory?"

Russell simply asked back blandly.

In a few words, he struck Butcher's weak point.

What kind of person was Butcher? For a few words his wife said before she supposedly died, he could temporarily switch sides and fight alongside Homelander against Soldier Boy to protect the illegitimate child of Homelander and his wife.

He was known as the Cuckold Knight.

As soon as he heard he could get news about his wife, Butcher hesitated for only two or three seconds before revealing Mallory's location, then anxiously said.

"I've told you where Mallory is, now tell me where Becca is!"

"Not so fast, our deal isn't finished yet." Russell instantly appeared beside Butcher, grabbed his shoulder, and in the next moment, in Hughie and Frenchie's eyes, the two vanished into thin air.

"What the hell!"

"Where did Billy go?" Frenchie looked around, a bit dumbfounded.

Ugh!

His head swam with dizziness, as if the World was spinning. The scene before his eyes changed instantly. The hand on his shoulder released him, and Butcher couldn't help but kneel on the ground and vomit. Looking up, he saw it was the lawn in front of Mallory's house.

"You... you, you can teleport?" He looked at Russell in surprise.

Being moved at extreme speed by a speedster, if a bio-field isn't applied with extreme care, people often experience discomfort. Russell was too lazy to explain to him, so he just grabbed him and went into the house.

"Butcher, who is he?"

Seeing that Butcher had brought an unknown person into her house, the silver-haired, stern-faced Mallory stood up and frowned unhappily.

"Where is Soldier Boy?"

Russell got straight to the point.

"What Soldier Boy?"

Mallory expertly concealed the shock that flashed in her eyes, giving the impression that her expression was merely confused.

"Soldier Boy? Didn't he die in a nuclear accident last century?" Wiping the residue from his mouth, Butcher didn't understand why Russell would ask where Soldier Boy was.

Soldier Boy, the undisputed number one in Vought International's previous generation's flagship Superheroes team, Payback. You could say he was the Homelander of the last century.

The most powerful Superheroes on Earth at one time.

"If you want to find Soldier Boy, you should look in the ruins of the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant meltdown." Mallory added expressionlessly.

"It's well known that Soldier Boy died in a nuclear power plant meltdown accident in 1984. The official story is that he died a heroic sacrifice trying to save people."

"Bullshit!"

Butcher chimed in, also talking about Soldier Boy's death, and scoffed dismissively.

"Don't I know the nature of those Superheroes? Vought International definitely mishandled it and sent Soldier Boy to a disaster relief.

Superheroes who are used to showmanship and acting can't handle real problems. They got scared shitless, fumbled around, and died in the nuclear meltdown."

How could Mallory's previous change in expression escape Russell's notice? Besides, he already knew the truth. He glanced at Butcher.

"Soldier Boy isn't dead. He disappeared during a clumsy military support operation in Nicaragua last century, was captured by Russia, and Vought International lied, claiming he died in the nuclear power plant accident."

"Who could capture Soldier Boy? He's practically a walking hydrogen bomb." Hearing this news, Butcher's first reaction was disbelief.

But the location where the whole incident happened was revealed, and Mallory's face suddenly changed. This time, even an idiot could catch her unusual change in expression.

"Wait, is this true?"

Butcher froze, his face full of disbelief.

"How do you know about this?" Russell casually spoke out a top secret unknown to others. Mallory's face was surprised and grim as she stared intently at him, feeling that the young man in front of her exuded a sense of mystery.
