Chapter 5 - Few I care for

The school clock began ringing and all of the students began packing their items, ready to finally hit the cafeteria. Sara began packing all of her stuff too, she took pride in being smart so she always made sure to take her papers with her, so that she could revise if she ever needed to.

5 minutes later. Sara is getting her food out, like usual she sat alone, no one bothered to sit with her.

"Hey Sara, you fought too hard in your last fight?" Said a girl named Nur, making fun of Saras scar. Nur is a typical bully, she always goes out to those who she views as beneath her just to boost her own ego. Sara doesn't like to take the insults and she wishes to respond back. But Nurs life is so perfect that Sara can never really say anything back.

"Go back to your da-" Saras sentence was cut off after the realization hit her. Nur has no father, but there would be no point in making fun of that, Sara too has no father.

Before Nur could respond her sister, Ghaia, went over and shifted the conversation.

"Nur stop it already! Come on let's go." Said Ghaia. Ghaia was the complete opposite of Nur. She was kind to everyone, even to Sara. However Sara thought about other people a lot, she never approached Ghaia, as it would "tarnish" her reputation. As they were leaving they caught up with a third girl, Luna. Those 3 were triplets, however they were not identical.

Nur had long black hair separated into 2 parts. Ghaia had usual blonde hair, however on her blonde hair she had brownish spots which kind of looked like a map of the world. Luna had a wolf cut like haircut, her hair color being brown and freckles all over her face. Unlike the other 2, Luna was quiet so Sara didn't know much about her.

Sara was practically outcasted after Nur began going hard on her. Ever since she got her scar, it's as if people looked at her differently. No one hung around with her, only people to talk to her were either the teachers, Sa-iq, Normine or her mother. Never anyone else. She envied the Daw triplets. They weren't just the ones getting attention they were the ones giving attention.

Ever since she got picked on for her scar, it's as if the entire world changed opinions about her. What she hates most about this is the fact that she cannot do anything about it. She can't respond back, her insults are pretty lightweight compared to the years of damage Nur had done. She also can't just "fight" back, if she does she'll get bullied even more for being "masculine." It has already happened ever since people found out she was an agent.

When she came back to school after she got her scar, most of the attention got diverted to Sa-iq who came back to school with an eyepatch. To take away all attention from Saras scar, he put on the eyepatch so that people would flock to him instead. It worked for a while until it didn't anymore.

What she doesn't understand about those 3 is the vibe she gets from them. It's weird and Sara claims the vibes she gets are unexplainable. However Sara has bigger problems to think about so she usually ignores those vibes.

School has ended, and Sara is walking home alone. She used to walk home with Sa-iq, however Sa-iq began going back with his friends.

"I don't want to meet Sa-iqs friends, they might make fun of me as well." Thought Sara to herself, she had practically lost trust in everyone. Her mom being one of the few people she loves. Though she thinks she can be a little harsh on Sa-iq, she is extremely kind to Sara.

Sara knocked on the door and opened the door, she saw her mom standing in the kitchen which was located on the right side of the house as soon as you walk in. The same routine was about to start, Sara says hello, mom responds, that's as far as it goes. But today something was different, Layla walked up towards Sara and looked a little horrified.

"Sara, whatever you do, don't speak to Sa-iq as much this week." She said, Sara looked at her strangely and asked why.

"There's no reason, you as my daughter have to follow my words without reason." Said Layla, Sara nodded even though she knew she wasn't going to listen. While she loved her mom, a lot of the time she doesn't listen to her due to Layla being an old woman. So old that she is in fact 81 years old. Sara still wonders how it was possible for her to have them at 68, but she stops questioning it when it gets to difficult to think about.

"At the end of the day, it is probably because of some DER bullshit." She thought to herself.

Sara sat down on her bed and opened up her phone. Due to being around with less people Sara opted to being on the internet a lot more. This swayed her into more.... rarer hobbies and interests in the middle east. Some of those can be watching anime and reading all sorts of romances on the net. She's tried to introduce Sa-iq into some anime, but he thinks they're weird and for children.

As she tried to open up the app, a sudden notification from the Agency begins ringing. Sara threw her phone after being jumpscared by the loud notification.

"Oh God why do they make those things so loud." She said to herself before picking her phone up to see what she had to do.

E-rank demon located 1km away from your current location.

"Ah! It's so close I need to go now!" She said before running out of her room.

"What's the rush?" Asked Layla. Sara looked back at her horrified.

"Demon!" She let out before getting outside. Laylas smile went down, as Sa-iq was still walking back home and they might run into each other again.

An abandoned convenience store lies in the outskirts of the town. Most people no longer know it exists. Sara stared down at the store from the hill she stood at, an ominous vibe surrounded the store.

"Ahhh no, I can't fight so well inside because I can't fly as much." She said to herself worryingly. She still decided to step into the store, knowing that leaving the demon alone wouldn't end well.

As the automatic to the store opened the lamps lit on. "Wow these still work?" She said to herself. She also knew the demon was hiding somewhere else, as the sensor never sensed the demon and never lit up the store.

She looked around, the store being damp and moist with nature reclaiming parts of the store. She wondered just how the lights still worked after all of these years.

"It's because of me." Said an unfamiliar voice who zoomed behind her. She looked behind her and saw a tall demon looking down at her. It's pupils looking like they're charging electricity.

"I've had such a nice life in here, thanks to my ability I can keep the lights on, I have my own shelter. And the best part is the delivery here! My food practically walks over to me! All of you maniacs will learn why it's a bad idea to explore abandoned places, especially if you are alone!" Said the demon before trying to strike Sara. Sara reacted fast and used her daggers to block his sharp long nails.

"Oh, you're an agent, that makes more sense." Said the demon after licking his teeth.

From behind the demon there was a piece of metal flying towards him. The metal was controlled my Saras wind power. Without breaking his eye contact with Sara, he held the metal right before it went through his head.

"Eeeek, that's terrifying" She thought to herself before getting ready to strike for real. Yet just before she could move, she got electrocuted with the demon right behind her, he kicked her and she got knocked back into a wall.

"Get your camera, record me so you can upload your video to the internet and talk about the scariest abandoned areas. That way more and more food can come to me! Tell the world about Noel Electrica and his electric powers!" Yelled the demon.

"Electric powers? So he's not like Sa-iq but their abilities relate." She thought to herself while getting herself of the wall.

Sparks of electricity were starting to be visible, the demon rushed towards Sara. But using all of her might, Sara just barely managed to control the wind and form a type of shield, stopping the demon mid air and leaving him completely exposed to attacks. Sara kept both of her hands up to control the shield, and using her eyes to control more wind, her eyes went from looking at the right to the left, Noel was left with a huge cut, and he fell down to his knees. Sara kept looking down before she went to finish the demon off.

"Such injury is nothing compared to demonic regeneration!" Noel was mumbling the first few words, with the last words coming out very loud and energetic. He took ahold of Sara and threw her before he followed her, he redirected the direction she flew in after hitting her right in her stomach again. She landed in a pile of grocery, making her hidden from the demon for a little bit. Sara was so injured she was barely able to move, there was only so much time left before the demon found her and killed her. She's become weaker than before. Her life started flashing, most of her memories were just plain and boring, her inside her room on the internet all day, her being spoiled by Layla. Her helping Sa-iq with their studies. But a certain memory stuck out.

"Sa-iq, don't you just-" She cut off her words after Sa-iq went outside without her permission. Normine let out a sigh and was ready to go out and get him back before he'd use his Dermine and get in trouble again. Just before she left, she saw Sara leaving her room from the corner of her eye.

"Heyyy there, do you know where Sa-iq could go?" Asked Normine, the rather introverted Sara just kept staring at her

"N-no." She let out, barely being able to keep eye contact with Normine. Normine was just about to leave until she thought about her a little more. Normine dedicated herself to caring for Sa-iq since she knew his mother wouldn't be able to care for the both of them. But she never thought about Sara and how she was being raised.

"Well, what do you like to do?" Asked Normine after bending down and putting her hands on her knees.

"Uhhhh, I watch Youtube." Stammered Sara.

"Youtube? That sounds exciting! But you can't do that all the time, what about.... Hmmm. Maybe going out with your friends? Girls your age love to go shopping, and between me and you. I can always give you some money since I know your mom might not give you some." Said Normine enthusiastically. Saras eyes were almost wide open and filled with hope. It's the first time someone other than Layla and Sa-iq had been nice to her.

"I- I don't like going out." She said while stammering.

"Oh well, how about this. After I find Sa-iq and make sure he won't go outside and abuse his powers again, I'll take you out with me and buy you something, I can think of many dresses that you would look cute in! How about that?" Asked Normine. Sara was blushing a little and was very glad.

"Y-yes!" She said filled with enthusiasm.

Normine got up ready to go outside and find Sa-iq.

"Oh yeah Sara one more thing before I go. Your mom is a little old and there is nothing wrong with that, but that sometimes makes it hard for you to maybe connect with other girls. I frankly don't know much about you. But if you ever feel a certain thing, and you can't really tell your mom because she's old or Sa-iq because he's a boy, remember. I am always next door and more than happy to help you." Said Normine before leaving the house

Sara began pressing on her stomach to ease the pain. "Tsc, what am I doing? I'm not even cut yet I still lay here." She said before getting up, revealing her position. Sara looked at the demon dead in the eyes while it stared back.

"So, are ya finally waking up and taking this a little more seriously?" Asked the demon while sneering.

"Sorry Noel, but you already had your last meal" Said Sara.

"Unlike you, I have a family I need to get back to. Even if they aren't a lot, they care for me, and they would be very upset if I didn't come back." She followed up. She then began flying towards the demon, using her wind powers to lift herself up.

"Playing with electricity isn't so smart you know." Said the demon while blocking her slow attacks.

"For someone who's supposed to be fast, you're pretty slow." Said Sara before flinging her left arm, making a huge cut on the demons back.

"Your "electric" powers are nothing, I know someone who'd use it better than you do." She said before using wind to cut the demons head off while it was distracted.

She then fell down due to her injuries, not being able to do much. While gasping in and out, she barely managed to call for another agent to help her before the demons body explodes.

"I saw myself in him, he isolated himself from society, kind of like how I did that. Unlike him, someone saved me from that life and I still haven't repaid her." Thought Sara to herself. She still had no idea whether she'd survive from the explosion or not, whether the agents were fast enough.

"Helloooo, anyone home?" Asked Normine who was looking down at Sara.

"Normine! You're fast!" Said Sara shocked.

"Oh please it's nothing. I already got rid of the body by the way so no need to think about that." Said Normine. Sara looked at the right where the body was supposed to lay, and it was gone. Normine began helping Sara get up to walk her home.

"Weird, while Sa-iq got practically the same injuries during our battle with his ginger haired friend, he was able to recover extremely fast, yet Sara can barely walk." Thought Normine to herself.

"Normine, thank you for always being there for me." Said Sara. Normine was a little surprised by that statement.

"Oh- yeah no problem, it's the least I can do." Said Normine.

They walked outside the convivence shop, the lights off and the automatic door not working anymore.
