Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

In the spacious and luxurious old mansion's living room, the atmosphere was tense, like a tight string ready to snap.

Charlotte's face, which had been full of smiles, suddenly froze like a flower hit by frost when she heard Old Master Zhou's words.

But she was not an ordinary person. She quickly adjusted her mood, acting as if nothing had happened, her voice still gentle and sweet:

"Grandpa, you shouldn't say that. Andrew and I have missed you very much these past two years."

Her words were like a stone thrown into a calm lake, instantly stirring up waves.

Old Master Zhou's face turned dark. His eyes flashed sharply, and his tone became serious:

"Miss Su, do you know Andrew is married? Have you been with him these two years?"

Charlotte was startled and knew she had spoken wrongly. Her mind raced as she hurried to explain:

"Grandpa, Andrew was working abroad these two years, and I happened to be there too for my career, so we only met occasionally."

Trying to ease the awkward and tense mood, she quickly changed the subject. She held out the carefully picked health supplements toward Old Master Zhou with a flattering smile:

"Grandpa, I bought these supplements for you. I heard they are good for the elderly."

At that moment, Katherine came in from outside.

Old Master Zhou's attention immediately shifted to her. He ignored Charlotte and got up, walking lovingly toward Katherine:

"Katherine, you're here. Grandpa has been waiting for you for a long time."

Katherine smiled apologetically, her eyes clear and sincere:

"Grandpa, I'm sorry. I've been very busy with work lately and haven't had time to visit. I apologize."

Old Master Zhou waved his hand and smiled brightly:

"No need to apologize. It's good young people work hard. It shows you are ambitious."

Then he called out behind him to Andrew:

"Andrew, come here."

Andrew glanced at Katherine with a complicated, unreadable look. Then he said:

"I'm here, Grandpa."

Charlotte watched Old Master Zhou treat her and Katherine so differently. Jealousy and anger grew inside her like wild weeds, making her teeth itch with frustration.

She felt like a neglected clown, full of grievances and unwillingness.

Andrew walked over to Old Master Zhou and said:

"Grandpa."

Old Master Zhou said directly:

"You two should go check your bedrooms. Since you rarely come back, stay here tonight."

Katherine quickly tried to explain:

"Grandpa, we already…"

Before she could say the word "divorce," Andrew interrupted sharply:

"Yes, Grandpa."

Then Andrew looked at Katherine with eyes that left no room to refuse:

"Let's go."

Seeing Old Master Zhou's hopeful eyes, Katherine's heart softened. She didn't want to ruin the old man's mood, so she followed Andrew with heavy steps.

Charlotte couldn't hold back and called out:

"Andrew, I…"

Before she could finish, Old Master Zhou spoke:

"Miss Su, dinner is not ready yet. Come and play a game of chess with me."

Charlotte felt a sharp pain in her heart. She had a thousand reasons to refuse, but how could she say no to the old man?

She forced a smile, hiding her bitterness:

"All right, Grandpa."

Butler Li immediately went to get the chess set.

Old Master Zhou secretly scoffed. He knew Andrew was married, yet he acted like he didn't care. He thought Andrew should never come here again.

Katherine kept her head down, silently following Andrew.

Her thoughts were like trapped in a fog. Her mind was blank and she seemed lost.

Everything around her felt unrelated, as if she was in her own world.

Suddenly Andrew stopped walking and turned around. Katherine, lost in thought, didn't notice and bumped right into his chest.

The pain on her forehead felt like a heavy hammer, snapping her out of the chaos.

She looked up anxiously at the man in front of her, familiar but strange, her eyes showing panic:

"Sorry."

Andrew frowned slightly, his voice full of blame:

"Katherine, what are you thinking? Can't you watch where you're going?"

His words were like cold raindrops hitting her heart.

Katherine's panic quickly turned cold. Her eyes became sharp as she said coldly:

"How would I know you would stop suddenly? Next time, please say something."

She suddenly laughed bitterly, her tone more determined:

"Oh right, there probably won't be a next time. This should be the last time we meet, the last time I come here."

She walked past Andrew without hesitation, her back showing a stubbornness hard to describe.

Andrew felt a sudden irritation at her words.

He watched Katherine's leaving back, his eyes deep and complicated.

Then he took big steps forward and grabbed Katherine's arm, pulling her into a nearby room.

He slammed the door shut and quickly locked it.

Katherine looked at him angrily, her eyes burning like fire:

"Andrew, what are you crazy about now?"

Andrew didn't say anything. He walked slowly toward Katherine, cornering her against the wall.

Katherine pushed hard on his chest, trying to stop him, her eyes full of warning and anger:

"Andrew, what exactly do you want?"

Andrew stared into her eyes, as if trying to see through her soul. After a long moment, he spoke slowly:

"Were you just planning to tell Grandpa about our divorce?"

Katherine met his gaze without fear, her voice firm:

"Yes, I came today to tell Grandpa everything."

She paused, then curled her lips in a mocking smile:

"Now you can openly be with your Yao Yao."

The room's atmosphere felt frozen, full of tension and pressure.

Andrew's lips twitched slightly:

"What? Are you jealous?"

Katherine sneered:

"Andrew, don't flatter yourself. I'm not jealous of anyone but definitely not you."

"Don't be so full of yourself."

"After dinner, I will tell Grandpa the truth."
