April. The very beginning of the school year in all Japanese schools.

Unlike education systems in other countries, in Japan the school year began in April and ended the following March. There were several short vacation periods throughout the school year. The longest vacations began in mid-July and ended in August.

Things really weren't like other people in Japan.

But spring is incredibly good here. This is the time of year when the "Hanami" or "Sakura Blossoms" began. Japan's famous cherry trees, which in a short period of time begin to bloom with pink petals and color much of the country in this color.

Such twists and turns of nature really affect the mood a lot. Especially for schoolchildren, who are especially emotional during this period of life.

Emeric had to admit, spring was just a great time for any endeavor in this country, whether it was a new school year or a new page in life.

Going to Kuo Academy was a bit of both for him.

Studying in a Japanese school was indeed a new experience for him and his entourage. None of his inner circle had ever attended a regular school with a regular education system. Of course, if education in Japan could be called ordinary. No, Emeric had nothing against the Land of the Rising Sun, but he himself had hoped for another city in another country. But, due to some reasons, his favorite Los Angeles was simply not given to him.

For one thing, his entourage is woefully understaffed.

Secondly, LA was too big a fish to put in the hands of a young demon, albeit the younger brother of a Demon Lord.

But still...

Los Angeles, ironically the "City of Angels," was an incredible tidbit. One of the biggest cities in the world with almost the most "sinful" population. And not just sinful, but very, very wealthy. It's like Hollywood! Practically a fabulous treat for all of Hell.

He ended up stuck in some provincial town in Japan. Not the best option for a young demon, but he'll have to make do with what he has. The worst part is that he's sharing this already small town with a nerdy girl who's always trying to poke her nose into his plans.

He tried to keep such thoughts about the country to himself, though. His favorite bishop had been born here, after all.

«Tea? - The smile Akeno gave him was both coy and flirtatious, especially when she tucked her hair behind her ear with a light movement.

She appeared before him with a tray of tea already brewing. She was quite tall by Japanese standards, dressed in a Kuo Academy uniform. Akeno had almost all the stamps of Japanese and non-Japanese ideals of beauty. Oriental coloring perfectly emphasized a beautiful face, and long black hair flowed smoothly down her back. A magnificent figure, in no way typical for a representative of this country, especially the "upper ninety". Akeno had long ago surpassed all the women Emeric knew by the size of her breasts.

Himejima Akeno. One of the two members of his entourage. A gorgeous Japanese beauty who hid a flirtatious mischievousness under a false modesty. With each new day, Emeric couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her after all.

«That would be nice," Emeric smiled at her. As soon as she walked to his table and set the saucer and cup down neatly, he gave her a quick peck on the corner of her mouth.

«Emeric-sama..." The beauty's faux-exasperated tone did not match the flirtatious glances she sent him from beneath her long lashes. Akeno was a natural seductress, knowing when to tease with "unavailability" and when to "set herself up".

Their favorite game, which was gaining in intensity with each new day. Akeno, as it turned out, was naturally quite bold in a "certain" way, and Emeric never had to be taken twice. In fact, they both realized where things were going and were never against it. Akeno had long ago decided next to whom she wanted to spend her life with, and Emeric wouldn't give up his bishop to anyone. With each such "game" they both brought the game to a logical conclusion, and it only encouraged them...

The cup of tea, which he had just had time to take in his hand, was snatched away from his other hand in a most unceremonious manner.

«Can I try it, too? - An icy voice with a touch of anger whispered in his ear. - Isn't that too sweet, King?

You wouldn't immediately know what she meant by that the first time, the tea or the "event" she witnessed.

Emeric swiveled in his chair to a familiar presence that hadn't been here a moment ago.

A tall, silver-haired girl in a sweater sat on the corner of his desk with her leg over his leg. From beneath a carelessly raised mug of tea, a look of disapproval and the promise of reprisal stared back at him. Emeric's careful attempt to put his hand on her thigh was rebuffed with a careless slap.

«Hands-" The cup was put back. - King, don't you have anything else to do? Hands.... Instead of wasting time here," she shot her eyes at Akeno, who stood with her eyes closed and a peaceful smile. - You'd better figure out exactly what we're going to do in this place... I told who?! Hands!

Valerie Morningstar had never been known for her gentle disposition, and the omnipresent awl in one place constantly pushed her mistress to any activity. Most unpleasantly, the queen was almost always in the same mood as her king in this respect. The only measure of sanity among them, that is, Akeno, sometimes simply balked at her duties and joined in.

Truly, "Queen" is as good as "King."

After channeling energy into regenerating his injured limb and letting out a sorrowful sigh, Emeric Gremory stood up and headed for the open window. The clubhouse, which he had assigned himself, whatever Sona had in mind, overlooked the main body of the school and the many sports areas.

Schoolchildren who had survived their first day of school in the new year broke into flocks and headed home or to their clubs. The first thing that caught the eye was the obvious gender bias towards the female half of humanity. The elite Kuo Academy had been an all-female school until now, and it had only started accepting men this year.

Thoughtfully considering the many schoolgirls and their company, Emeric gave serious thought to his queen's question. Simple tasks peculiar to their situation would never satisfy his and Valerie's desire for movement.

«I don't know..." he looked at the small park thoughtfully. - If we're here, then adventure will find us.

«Again it's your-" Valerie tried to find an analogy for his supernatural sense, but her imagination failed. - Again you leave everything to chance!

«Chance brought me to you. - there was a smile in his voice. - It was chance that led us to Akeno. We should be grateful to her!

«Correction..." she interrupted him snidely. - It was your topographical cretinism that brought you to us.

«What do you know..." he muttered embarrassedly. - It's not easy to do everything... Oh?

His wandering gaze crossed with a pair of rather beautiful green eyes. Not far from their building, a rather pretty brown woman was sitting in the shade of a tree, who had started to panic-pack and run away when she realized she'd been found.

«Who is it? - He asked his entourage with a flash of intense interest, which his intuition fanned to the full.

A familiar presence just as quickly as always formed behind his right shoulder.

«First-timers, I don't know the name. - Valerie muttered thoughtfully. - She's got some kind of weak Sacred Mechanism, some kind of dragon thing, like Double Critical. She's a total wimp. What do you need her for?

«I would have objected! - Indignantly she was answered. - For me, the most important thing is personality! It doesn't matter if a person has some unique gift.....

«You, King, have only two pieces. - she started pointing at herself and the bishop. - Akeno is Barakiel's daughter, a half-fallen who fires holy lightning bolts left and right! - She looked at him like he was a bedbug. - I have Divine Separation, and my ancestor's identity is reviled in all the churches of this world! - An unimpressed look was bestowed upon him by the figures. - You literally have an entire entourage of individuals with a unique gift!

«It doesn't matter. - Emeric has engaged in his signature move, which is the total disregard for all reasonable arguments. - This is your mission, my retinue! Recognize, calculate, protect! Whoever this girl is, I want her in my retinue! My intuition is correct! And keep that goggle-eyed girl out of my business, and you can fireball her retinue if you want!

«King!

«La-la-la-la, I can't hear you, no refusals accepted!

«But, E-merik-sama...

«Akeno, don't you understand me? No refusals! Go, go, go, go, go!
