Selene moonfire sat a on the bed in her mansion looking at the double line in the pregnancy testing kit in her trembling hand, after not seeing her period for some time she decide to confirm her suspicion and the result is a life changing one.
"Keal will definitely be happy with this news " she said to herself, determine to please her husband she ran to kitchen and spent hours preparing a lot of his favorite dishes.
She was placing the food on the dining table when the door burst open and kael strode in.
"Welcome hubby I just finished preparing your favorite dishes come and eat before it's get cold "she said excitedly.
Keal expression was ice cold but he still walk toward the dinning table, sitting down he started to devour the food, seeing that he is eating selene decide to let the cat out of the bag.
"I have a good news " but before she could continue kael interrupt her "this is disgusting did you taste it before serving me " not giving her any chance to talk keal flung away all the food on the table.
Kael jaw tighten,his eyes scanning the mess on the floor with an irritated expression,his finger drumming against the wood,a warning that something was about to snap.
Kael rubbed his temple before slamming his fist on the table,the pressure at work was overwhelming,but that didn't give her the right to serve him ruined meal.
clenching his fist he walks toward selene and slap her hard across the face,the loud sound travel through the silent dining room ,he did not hold back at all.
Selene stumble back,her mind went blank,her vision turn blurry, she struggle as she try to understand what is going on ,before she could recover keal remove his belt and beat the the hell out of her,he beat her so hard like she was criminal.
"I have told you to watch what you cooked for me I don't like salty food did u want to kill me "after venting his anger he walks straight to the bedroom,and slam the door hard.
Through out the ordeal scene did not cry she seem to be used to this,he had become toxic recently.
Selene bend down and start cleaning up the mess,while cleaning up the broken dish, a sharp edge cut her hand,blood trickle out of the cut, immediately all the tears she has been holding in falls like a broken dam,she couldn't control herself anymore she sobs silently,she didn't dare sob out loud for the faer of another beating.
Why is this happening to me she asked herself all she ever want is a happy family,but reality seem to be joking with her,with all this thought going through her mind she sob harder.he did not even bother listening to her.
After cleaning up she walks to the bedroom,she tried to open the door,but it's was lock from inside.
"Open the door kael "she said the faint shiver in her voice a testimony to her fatigue
"You can sleep somewhere else I did not want to see you you are disgusting "kael voice was cold and lack any emotions.
"It's cold outside where did you want me to go kael please open the door "Selene begs.
"that is none of my concern" he replied coldly
she has no choice but to sleep in the guest room.
She walk to the guest room but the door is also locked,then its hit her the key is inside the bedroom, frustrated she kicked the door hard,a loud sound travel through the silent corridor,pain shoot from her feet all the way to her head,tears well up in her eyes again.
When did it go wrong she ask herself,she was bethrol to kael and they love each other which make their wedding smoother,their marriage was a happy one at beginning, she can't forget how he treated her like a princess when their marriage was as still early,he won't lay a finger on her,he compliment her at every opportunity.
But recently he become so cold and indifference to her,he even chase all the maid away, leaving her with load of house chores to do every morning,this always left her exhausted,to top it all he become toxic.
The sound of her ringtone broke her train of thought, but the caller id on the screen make her even more depressed.
"Hello mom"she said
"Selene are you really my daughter how can you cook disgusting food for your husband,you are such a disgrace to the family,ordinary food you can't cook don't you know that food is the key to a man's heart-".
"Mom will you listen to me or not "
"What is it that you want to say do you have any meaningful thing in your mouth "
"Mom!!"
"Ok tell me your is husband lieing right,you didn't cook disgusting food?"
"Mom did you even care to know how I feel "
"Keep your feelings to yourself and do what your husband want,don't be so useless,you know he invested a lot in our company if he divorce you we will disown you immediately "

Not letting her finish her words the line was cut.
Her body slowly slumped at the entrance of the guest room, crying silently,her family only care about the company,they believe whatever Kael say and they never care about her,when will they love her, she had been trying so hard to please them but they don't seem to care about all her effort .
Maybe if she give birth to this child,maybe they will all love her, at least for the sake of the child.
Maybe because she is exhausted she fall asleep there,
Early in the next morning a pain woke her up,with her blurry vision she see the silhouette of kael raising his leg gearing up for another kick, seeing the incoming kick she move out of the way.
"Ohh so you are awake,why did u woke up late "Kael barked at her.
"I'm sorry,I'm so sorry "she plead
"Now what did you expect me to eat for breakfast,you are forgetting your duty,or did you need me to remind you? " clenching his fist he said,while raising his fist up preparing to punch her anytime.
"n-no I will go prepare it now "Selene said
Standing up she prepare to walk to the kitchen but kael held her hand.
"don't worry I don't want to eat salty food again don't spoil my day"he said and then he push her away with all his strength.
Selene falls on the floor immediately an intense pain overwhelms her nether region, she started bleeding from her nether region,but kael did not bother looking back he walks away not caring about her pain at all
