Looking at Paimon, floating midair before him, if it weren't for the lingering pain from pinching his own cheek earlier, he would have thought he was dreaming.

Right now, he was leaning against a large rock on the beach. Perhaps after soaking in the sea for several days, he had little strength left and could only chat idly with Paimon.
"Paimon is not a balloon! I'm Teyvat's best guide and the Traveler's companion!"
Pointing to Lumine, who was roasting fish over the fire nearby, Paimon crossed her arms angrily at her waist.
"Sorry, I-I really shouldn't have described you like that, P-Paimon?" Shao Yun struggled to spit out the name from his mouth, still finding it hard to believe he had actually arrived in the world of Genshin Impact, slumped so miserably against a rock.
'Shouldn't transmigration be something grand? Like, a thunderous explosion across the sky followed by a dazzling entrance that blinds everyone? Why do I look like I'm half-dead?'
Seeing how weak Shao Yun looked, Paimon quickly flew over, concerned.
"Sorry, I didn't mean any harm. Take a good rest. Traveler's making you something to eat. Are you thirsty? Should I get you some water?"
"Thanks, a little would be good."
While sipping water, Shao Yun racked his brain, trying to figure out how he had traveled into Genshin's world, but to no avail.
Just like not knowing when he fell asleep, Shao Yun had no idea how he came here. He couldn't even recall what he was doing before he crossed over.
At that moment, Lumine stepped away from the campfire, holding a grilled fish.
"Wow, grilled fish, smells amazing!"
Paimon's mouth was practically watering as she rubbed her tiny hands together, staring eagerly at Lumine.
"Paimon, hold on. The next grilled fish is yours." Lumine glanced at Shao Yun, weakly leaning against the stone.
Reminded by Lumine, Paimon shook her head and snapped back to her senses. Shao Yun needed food even more urgently than she did.
Turning to look at Shao Yun, Paimon scratched her head sheepishly. "Sorry, I got so excited by the food that I forgot about you."
"Haha, it's fine." Shao Yun smiled and nodded. During his time playing the game, he'd always found Paimon's noisy yet adorable antics endearing. Now seeing her greedy little face up close, he found her even cuter.
"Here, eat this. After soaking in the water for so long, you must be starving. Better replenish your strength."
Lumine handed over the grilled fish.
Lumine's voice was truly beautiful, especially paired with her golden hair and pure white attire. She really looked like a princess from another world.
"Thanks." Hearing Lumine's words, Shao Yun realized he was indeed starving. He reached out and took the fish.
The moment he grabbed the grilled fish, a status screen popped up before his eyes.

Seeing Shao Yun frozen with the grilled fish in hand, Lumine and Paimon exchanged glances. Paimon then patted her chest and said, "Don't worry, Traveler's cooking is really good!"
"Ah, what…" Shao Yun clutched the fish skewer tightly. Suddenly groaning in pain, he leaned back against the stone, eyes closed, and lost consciousness.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Paimon hurried over, checking on him anxiously.

Several minutes later, Shao Yun slowly regained consciousness. It seemed he had just bound some kind of system — a Red Dead Redemption template — and was told to enjoy his journey.
He also apparently received an Eastern Legend backpack and revolvers. 'How am I supposed to explain that?' But considering Fontaine had firearms, it shouldn't be too much of a stretch.
He patted himself down but found nothing there.
Seeing him awake, Lumine and Paimon both sighed in relief.
"Cough, cough… my head…" Shao Yun groggily rubbed his temple.
"You scared me to death! You collapsed out of nowhere," Paimon said, visibly relaxing after the tension, letting out a long breath, as if a huge burden had been lifted.
"I passed out?" Shao Yun's mind was still a blur, vaguely remembering something about acquiring items.
"Yes, you fainted out of nowhere," Paimon nodded vigorously, certain. "You must be starving. Hurry and eat the food in your hands."
"When I'm hungry, I also get dizzy and feel like I'm about to faint," Paimon added, patting her chest and using herself as an example.
Looking at the grilled fish in his hand, Shao Yun scarfed it down in a few big bites.
The texture was acceptable; the flavor — he could barely taste the freshness of the fish.
"Fish bones…" Lumine stared wide-eyed at Shao Yun, about to remind him there were bones, but watched in shock as he swallowed the entire fish down.
"Fish bones? I thought that was crunchy cartilage," Shao Yun said, still clueless about what had just pricked his teeth.
"Shao Yun, your teeth are amazing…" Lumine looked at him helplessly, a trace of disbelief in her eyes. But then again, after starving for days, excitement might override caution. Still, it wasn't exactly safe.
Just moments ago, Shao Yun had been aching all over and seeing double. Now, with one grilled fish in his belly, he was revitalized.
Bracing himself, he tried to stand up.
"Don't force yourself," Lumine said, supporting his arm, afraid he might collapse.
"It's okay, I feel much better now." Shao Yun gently pushed her small hand away, standing up with his own strength, albeit a bit slowly.
The moment he stood, Lumine and Paimon's gazes unconsciously lifted upward.
From their perspective, it was like a small mountain rising.
"Mmm, Shao Yun, you're really tall," Lumine blurted out her thoughts instinctively.
Sitting down, leaning against a rock, it hadn't been obvious. But standing up, the height difference was truly imposing.
"Not bad, just about average," Shao Yun replied, feeling it was nothing unusual. After all, Lumine's model in the game was the smaller "young girl" model. His current model in Genshin seemed to be a grown male one at least.
Comparatively, Lumine's head barely reached Shao Yun's chest. If he wanted, he could easily rest his elbow on her head.
As for Paimon, mmm, a flying mascot was hard to compare.
"Alright, let's stop worrying about height for now. Let's properly introduce ourselves," Paimon quickly waved her hand, deftly shifting the topic away — height was clearly a sore spot for her.
