she found me.
Not Lena. Ava.
I was heading to my locker after gym when she stepped into my path like she'd been waiting for me.
"Stop looking at me like that."
I blinked. "What?"
She crossed her arms. "You've been watching me. Like you're waiting for something."
I glanced around. No one else was nearby, but I still kept my voice low. "I haven't been watching you."
"Yes, you have." Her eyes were sharp. "Since yesterday. You keep staring ."
I didn't know what to say.
Because yeah, I had seen her. Twice now. In flashes that didn't feel like mine.
But how do you explain that without sounding insane?
"I'm not trying to creep you out," I said finally. "I just… saw something. Before it happened."
She stiffened.
"You mean today?" she asked. Quiet now. Not angry anymore. Just… careful.
I nodded slowly. "You were by your locker. You looked scared."
She didn't deny it.
Instead, she looked down at her hands.
"I don't know how you knew that," she said. "But don't do it again."
Then she walked off.
Left me standing there with a cold feeling in my gut.
Because if she wasn't surprised that I saw her panic…
That meant she believed me.
And if she believed me?
Then maybe she knew something too.
I started walking again, heart thumping.
This wasn't just about me anymore.
Something was happening.
And I wasn't the only one seeing ahead.
