Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 :The memory keeper

Jace crouched behind his camera, scanning the park for the perfect shot. His dark brown hair was messy, and his warm hazel eyes were focused on the scene before him. As a landscape photographer, he loved capturing candid moments, and the warm sunlight filtering through the trees created a beautiful backdrop. As he framed his next shot,he noticed a young woman sitting on a bench with her eyes locked in something in her palm.

Amy, a 24-year-old writer, sat on a bench, lost in thought. Her curly, honey-blonde hair cascaded down her back, and her bright green eyes shone with a mix of sadness and nostalgia as she gazed at the old locket containing a photo of her younger brother, who had passed away a few years ago. Her petite frame and bohemian style seemed attractive and compelling.

Without hesitation, Jace snapped the photo, capturing the intimate moment. The woman's eyes widened, and she looked up, startled, as Jace realized he had taken her picture without permission.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Jace exclaimed, approaching her. "I didn't mean to intrude."

The woman's gaze narrowed, but then she smiled softly. "It's okay. I was just...I didn't expect that."

Jace nodded, feeling a pang of curiosity. "You were looking at a photo, I think?"

The woman's eyes dropped to the locket, and she nodded. "My brother. He passed away a few years ago."

Jace's heart went out to her. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have taken your picture without asking."

But to his surprise, the woman smiled again. "Actually, I'm glad you did. It's nice to know someone captured that moment."almost ethereal in the dappled light.

As they talked, Jace learned more about Amy's brother, Max, and the locket she treasured. He shared stories of his own sister, Emma, and the pain of losing her. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, like a gentle stream, and Jace found himself captivated by Amy's warmth and vulnerability.

As they stood there, the park around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a moment of shared understanding. Jace felt an inexplicable connection to this stranger as if their grief and memories had created a bridge between them.

Before parting ways, Jace asked if he could show her the photo he took. Amy agreed, and as he pulled out his camera, she gasped at the image on the screen.

"You captured it perfectly," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "The way I'm looking at Max's picture...it's like you froze my emotions in time."

Jace smiled, feeling a sense of pride and connection. "I'm glad I could do it justice."

As they parted ways, Jace couldn't shake the feeling that their encounter was more than just coincidence. He looked forward to seeing Amy again, to exploring the depths of their connection, and to learning more about the beautiful, complex woman who had just captivated him.

Amy left the park, while Jace stayed behind, editing the photo on his camera. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he had captured something special – not just a moment, but a connection.

Days turned into weeks, and Jace couldn't stop thinking about Amy. He decided to post the picture on his photography blog, hoping she might see it. He waited and waited and fortunately she did.

Amy stumbled upon Jace's blog while researching photography techniques. Her eyes widened as she saw the picture of herself, holding the locket,it had more that a hundred thousand views and likes. She felt a mix of emotions – surprise, curiosity, and a hint of vulnerability.

"Hey stranger" She commented on the post, thanking Jace for capturing the moment. Jace responded, and they started a conversation online. They exchanged messages, sharing stories, and laughter. The connection they felt in the park grew stronger with each passing day.

A week later, Jace asked Amy if she'd like to meet again, this time for coffee. Amy agreed, and they chose a quaint café in the heart of the city of Manhattan.

Over steaming cups of coffee, they talked about everything – their passions, fears, dreams, and memories. Jace shared stories of his sister, Emma, and Amy spoke about her brother, Max. They found solace in each other's company, their connection deepening with each shared moment.

The café started to close, but they didn't want the evening to end. Jace suggested a walk along the beach, and Amy agreed.

As they walked along the beach, Jace asked Amy about her writing, and she shared her passion for storytelling. He listened intently, offering words of encouragement and support.

"I've always loved writing," Amy said, "but after Max passed away, it became my escape. My way of processing emotions and keeping his memory alive."

Jace nodded thoughtfully. "I understand. Photography became my escape after Emma passed away. It's like we're both trying to hold onto memories, but also create new ones."

Amy smiled, feeling a sense of kinship with Jace. "Exactly! It's like we're preserving the past while embracing the present."

As they continued their walk, the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the beach. Jace turned to Amy and asked, "May I see the locket again?" Amy hesitated for a moment before opening the locket, revealing the photo of her brother inside.

Jace gently took her hand, his fingers brushing against hers. "I'm so glad you shared this with me," he said, his eyes locked on the photo. "It means a lot to me that you trust me with your story."

Amy's heart skipped a beat as she felt a spark of electricity at his touch. She looked up at Jace, his eyes filled with kindness and understanding. In that moment, she felt a connection that went beyond words.

As the stars began to twinkle above, Jace walked Amy home, his hand still holding hers. They stood outside her door, reluctant to part ways.

"Thank you for tonight," Amy said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jace smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Anytime, Amy. I'm always here for you."

And with that, he leaned in, his lips brushing against her cheek in a gentle, sweet peck. Amy's heart fluttered, and she felt a sense of wonder at the unexpected turn of events.
