Chapter 2 - Chapter #002: "You Are Capable." (2)

Hours passed and it was already midnight. The moon was full and the sound of a cricket filled Yori's room. He was in his room, lying on his comfortable bed, using his laptop. He was surfing the internet, as he always did every night. Sometimes Yori had insomnia and couldn't sleep properly. Kazumi, on the other hand, always went to bed early, around nine thirty at night.

On the side of a small nightstand above his bed, there was a cup of chocolate cappuccino next to the white lamp. It wasn't turned on, although the room was always dark. The light from the device the black-haired boy was using was enough to illuminate it, since the light had a relatively high resolution.

"Hm... damn..."

Yori looked at the date next to the time on the screen of his gray laptop. He sighed and settled into bed, laying his head on the pillow. He drank some more of the delicious chocolate cappuccino he had prepared.

"There are only a few days left until classes start again…"

Yori got out of bed and put on the blue sheets that covered him. He went to the desk, where he always kept his notebook, and which was also his place of study. He saw a black bracelet on the table. He picked it up and remembered only one person, Kazumi.

"Kazumi… I remember… when he gave me this bracelet. Did he give it to me about ten years ago, if I remember correctly?" he asked himself, as he admired the bracelet.

That bracelet in his hands was very special to the boy. When he was seven years old, Kazumi had given it to him as a keepsake. Yori kept that bracelet with all his love and affection to this day. He never wanted to lose the memory of his brother. To him, it would be worth much more than a beautiful emerald.

The boy with sapphire eyes didn't want to lose that bracelet for anything. If he lost it, he could spend hours looking for it and wouldn't get tired until he found it. It didn't matter how many minutes, hours, days or even years it took.

He put the bracelet on his right wrist and admired how much that item still fit Yori, even after so much time.

Yori drank the rest of the cappuccino in his mug and turned off his laptop, placing the device on the study table. He placed the red mug on the nightstand right there and lay down on his slightly messy bed, while admiring the bracelet on his wrist. Remembering his older brother, Yori Watanabe laughed lightly for a few seconds.

"Ha ha ha ha ha... ah... Kazumi..."

He closed his eyes, hoping to have a good night's sleep that day. After a few minutes, he finally managed to fall asleep.

Kazumi left the room, crossed the hallway and went downstairs, going to the kitchen. He grabbed a glass and poured water. The purple-eyed boy felt good after having quenched his thirst with that cold water that pleased him.

He went back to his room, but noticed that Yori's bedroom door was ajar. He went to his younger brother's room and entered, opening the door slowly.

The taller boy approached his brother, who was now sleeping. Since he was tall, he crouched down a little close to Yori.

Kazumi gently brushed the younger boy's bangs from his forehead with his fingers and brought his face close to his, kissing him affectionately so as not to wake him. He left Yori's room and closed the door slowly, so as not to make any noise.

"Good night, Yori."

The other man, who had a pair of purple eyes, went to his room. Kazumi was so drunk with sleep that he could sleep anywhere. He had only woken up that night to drink water. Entering the room, he closed the door and threw himself on the bed, snuggling up.

He covered himself with the blanket and closed his eyes, thinking about the young man.

"Yori..."

Hours passed and a new day dawned. Yori was still sleeping. It was almost six in the morning. The sun would probably come out at any moment. Kazumi entered Yori's room, almost breaking down the door — as if it were a common custom. — He went to the youngest who was sleeping in the bed and tried to wake him up.

"Hey, damn it, wake up! Mommy is going to leave for work soon! Wake up! You need to improve your horrible sleep!"

Yori continued sleeping as if nothing had happened. Kazumi touched the youngest's cheek with his finger, as a way to see if he was still alive, but he didn't wake up. Kazumi hated the fact that Yori had insomnia from time to time and, when he finally managed to sleep, it was almost impossible to wake him up.

"Hey, Yori, wake up already!" he said, as he lightly caressed Yori's cheeks.

The black-haired man slowly opened his tired eyes. He was very exhausted. He yawned, not caring about what Kazumi had told him.

"Oh, come on... let me sleep for just six more minutes..."

"No way! Last time, you said that and slept for another six hours!"

"I tried to sleep yesterday, it was going really well... but... I spent the whole night playing PSP."

"Oh my God... it's okay. I'll let you sleep. Sleep while I make coffee. And I'll come back here to wake you up, remember that."

"Thank you very much, brother..."

The shorter man went back to sleep. Kazumi couldn't say no sometimes in situations like that to his younger brother. He stroked Yori Watanabe's hair and saw his wrist, which had the black bracelet.

"Wow! Do you still have the bracelet I gave you?"

"Yes... I liked it," he replied in a sleepy tone.

"Ha ha ha! Well, I'll make some coffee then. I'm going to sleep a little longer."

Kazumi hugged Yori and left through his brother's bedroom door. Yori was a little embarrassed by the gesture.

"You idiot..."

Kazumi went downstairs towards the living room and started organizing some things that were disorganized in the room. Such as: potted plants, sofa cushions and the kitchen chairs that were near the table. The house also needed to be swept, as it was probably dusty.

The taller one picked up a broom that was near the refrigerator. It was a new broom, since Kazumi and Yori had broken the other two the day before. In fact, the house was dusty and, in less than a few minutes, the taller one finished sweeping the entire house. He looked at the clock on the wall, as he had forgotten his cell phone in the room. It was exactly six in the morning.

"Mom should have already gone to get ready for work."

Kazumi grabbed a duster from the kitchen after sweeping the entire house and started dusting all the furniture in the living room. She dusted everything after a few minutes. Now, she had a little job to do, which was to make food.

"Shit! Yori was going to help me in the kitchen! But no! That idiot had to stay up late!" she complained. "I need to punch him. Wait a minute... it's already been sixteen minutes! No... let him sleep any longer."
