The dungeons bells ring
Chapter 1 – The Dungeon Bell Rings
---
The World Is Sealed
Ten years ago, glowing rifts split the sky and vomited out dungeons stuffed with monsters.
A handful of humans awakened powers and became Sealers, closing those dungeons by slaying their bosses.
Everyone else? They ran, hid, or died.
Schools teach dungeon drills now.
Except Rin.
Rin practices lunchtime.
---
Classroom 1-D — 08:59
"Late again, Rin."
Rin waddled in, clutching a curry bun and half-chewed riceball.
"I was… busy," he puffed. "Saving humanity. Bite by bite."
Groans rippled through the room.
"Why's he always eating?"
"He'll awaken cholesterol, not powers."
Rin dropped into his seat, ketchup badge bright on his shirt.
"Envy smells like greatness—plus garlic."
---
Impact
Hum.
Floor shake.
Lights flash red.
A scarlet rift ripped the classroom in half.
"IS THAT—?!"
"A DUNGEON!"
No time to flee.
The portal vacuumed everything—desks, screams, Rin's curry bun.
"Nooo! My bu—"
Darkness.
---
Inside the Dungeon
Cold stone. Green torches. Air like wet iron.
"W-Where are we?!"
"This is a real dungeon!"
Monsters oozed from the shadows—fangs, claws, red eyes.
A student shrieked. Another swung a chair… too slow.
CHOMP. Blood.
Someone bolted. Chaos exploded.
"RUN!!"
---
Rin in Motion
Rin jog-waddled, sweat spraying, half-melted chocolate bar clutched tight.
"Why are these halls so looong?!"
He tripped on a ribcage, face-planted, popped up, munched the chocolate.
"Stress eating is therapy!"
---
The Gate
They skidded into a cavern. A golden gate blazed with runes. Above it:
ONLY 12 MAY ENTER
Count—thirteen.
"Where's Rin?!"
Down the tunnel: Rin. Gasping. Dropping crumbs.
"Wait up! I'm the mascot!"
Monsters roared closer.
"No time—go!"
"Sorry, Chubby!"
SLAM. Gate shut.
Rin slapped the stone, wheezing.
"I was… almost… heroic…"
---
The Boss
Silence—then a growl.
From the dark lumbered a horned giant, eyes like lava, each step cracking rock.
Rin froze, waving a snack wrapper.
"P-Please! I'm 90 percent preservatives!"
The creature leaned down… and smiled.
Blackout.
