Y/N's breath caught in her throat as Yoongi stepped further into the room, his eyes never leaving her or Jungkook. There was something about his presence that made the air thick with tension, as though the walls themselves could sense the storm that was brewing between them.
"Yoongi," Y/N whispered, her voice trembling with a mixture of frustration and fear. "Please, don't do this. I need to be with him."
Yoongi's eyes softened, but his expression remained unreadable. "I know," he said, his voice quieter now. "But you need to understand… Jungkook is not the person you think he is. Not anymore."
The words hit her like a slap. "What do you mean?" she asked, her pulse quickening. "What happened to him?"
Yoongi stepped closer, lowering his voice. "It's not just the mafia, or his past. There's something more. Something he's been keeping from you. Something that could destroy everything."
Y/N shook her head, unable to comprehend. "No. I don't believe that. He would never—"
"He's protecting you," Yoongi interrupted, his gaze flicking to Jungkook's still form. "But not in the way you think. He's pushing you away because he believes he's too dangerous for you."
Her heart sank. "What are you saying? That this is all his fault? That he's choosing to suffer like this?"
Yoongi was silent for a moment, as though weighing his next words carefully. "He's choosing to suffer because he doesn't want to drag you down with him."
Y/N felt the weight of his words sink deep into her chest, squeezing the breath from her lungs. But despite the rising fear inside her, there was something in Yoongi's eyes that unsettled her more than anything. He knew something. Something she didn't.
