Chapter 1 - The Last Day of The War

It was the year 6738 a.C., humanity had already conquered the stars thousands of years prior, and after such a long time it became something different, the "Humans" if you could call them such, became ageless creatures each way different from one another, some had many arms others thousand of eyes an so on, this started with the introduction of the Gene Modifier in the 4162 a.C., a machine that gave everyone the possibility of modifing themself in any way they wanted.

Around one hundread years before the 6738 a.C. a terroristic group of "Humans" began their journey to kill all of Humanity, they thought that their immortal lives were against the will of God and that only once all Humanity died they would be awarded with heaven.

When that group was created almost no high ranked "Humans" feared them, they were very few and there was no way anyone would have followed them and their little mad dream, little did they knew that a great part of Humanity was bored of their immortality and it was searching for something fun to do, so they decided to follow them, in just a few years the "Extinction Party" was the biggest "Human" group in the universe.

Seeing this the many differents groups of "Humans" that could be found in the universe created an alliance, "Humanity United", after that many battles occurred and with them a lot of "Humans" died.

And now in the Sector#453 a great fight was beggining and this battle was gonna decide the future of the entire Human race.

...

Raphael woke up at the sound of the alarm, he knew it was the signal of the start of the reuinion, he slowly got up from the bed of his ship, he walked into the teleportation chamber, once entering in it he got teleported on the mother ship of the Alliance.

He walked in the empty corridors, they used to be full of life in the first years of the Alliance, but the loss of life made itself feel, the majority of "Humans" had long stopped reproducing bringing an alt to the new borns.

After walking in those cold corridors for a while he arrived at the center of command, there around thirteen "Humans" were looking at the attack plans, this was gonna be the last fight against the terrorists, it was all or nothing.

As the leader of the Alliance stood still sat on his throne his face was submerged in deep thoughts, he was one of the oldest and also one of the strongest "Humans", his name was General Gary (a name that didn't exactly brought fear in the hearts of the enemy), he was a tall creature with a big mouth full of teeths on his stomach, he couldn'tbe called fit as he was as bulky as a sumo fighter, even with this ridiculous aspect his voice and speechs were full of confidence and hope, next to him stood a creature similar to a human, a sinth.

The sinths were artificial creatures made in the imagine of the original appearance of humans, they didn't needed to eat, drink and anything of these other things, they were perfect soldiers, their only weakness was lacking initiative, Gary created them in order to have an army capable of fighting in the war, sometimes quantity is better than quality, he also explaine the choises for their appearance telling the rest of the Alliance that he took inspiration from a certain game of his time called Fallout.

Just as Gary tried to talk about the attack plans Raphael interjected announcing "I won't participate in this war" his statement fell silent on everyone, Gary's face was left shocked, to behold his face like that seemed surreal.

One of the "Humans" a slug like creature the size of an elephant roared with a high pitched voice "Raphael what followed you mean? This battle can't be AVOIED!" As the slug prepared itself to launch another scream he was silenced by a move of Gary's hand.

The slug tried to reply, but Gary glaring at it said "Lecart, leave it be" his gaze returned to Raphael "I will talk to you later Raphael ".

Raphael walked out of the room, stopping right outside of it, he rested on the side of the corridor just outside the door, after two hours the "Humans" left one after the other the room walking down the corridors toward their ships, the slug gave him a brutal glance before leaving, no word was spoken.

After they all left Gary slowly approached Raphael, his expression kinder and understanding, completely different from before, looking at him Gary started the talk with a question "Why?" After a while without response he asked jokingly "Are you perhaps with the other side now?".

Raphael with a sneeze replied "Gary, we all know that this is probably our last moment before our death, and even if I lived for so long still find a meaning in life" hearing this Gary asked "then what do you want?" Raphael with a hint sadness in his eyes said "tell me, Gary, do you remember the Earth ?".

"Of course I do, but I think the two of us are the only two that still remember it, amoung the few that survived from the great crusade we are the only ones left" remembering the Earth a nostalgic gaze appeared on Gary's face.

In the 2500 a.C. Humanity had to escape the planet after the pollution, nuclear winter and a mortal famine that killed every single thing on the planet, starting a crusade of conquest and colonisation, those two were the last of the "Humans" that were still born on the Earth.

Raphael started to talk with a low voice that slowly began to grow louder and full of hope "You know...I made some researching and with the technology of today I think I can bring the planet back to its original state, I think I can start a new era for humanity...".

Gary's eyes began shining with hope, a little tear slowly formed on his left eye.

The two of them talked for hours, they gave each other a last goodbye before Raphael sailed on his ship, he slowly activated the motors, the ship detaching from the mother ship, he never looked back, he only heard many explosions, so strongs that even using the wormhole travel he could still fell them.

After a few days of travel he stopped hearing them, controlling the radar for life signs nothing came out, the war ended, not in victory nor in defeat, it ended in a draw that brought death to almost all "Humanity" and he was left alone.

The last "Human".
