Chapter 46 - Caught Red-Handed

Soon afterwards, the team had loaded their findings and future plans into the truck.

"I think we should focus on Pralaya-1 now-", Ishar said, "-It could cause a blackout throughout the nation, disabling the efficiency of our defense systems. We need to prepare something that doesn't depend on digitized communication to defend our country in a time like that."

"You are right." Karan said, while the others agreed. "Me and the others will start research as soon as we get back to Aralam-CRASH!."

The sound of a cup of coffee breaking resonated through the room. Gargi and Anjani, who were loading their equipment into the car, rolled their eyes at a Pratap whose shoes were drenched in coffee.

Pratap's eyes shone with a powerful ingenuity as he looked at Ishar and Naren, and asked, "You guys are friends with Tanik Sehwag, the Navy Captain, right?"

Naren grinned and said, "Of course, he put up with our senseless whims so gracefully in the past."

Pratap's smile grew so wide that it was beginning to scare Ishar. The last time he had smiled like this, Pratap ended up doing something so reckless, something that Ishar was too embarrassed to speak of. The thing of matter was that Ishar ended up paying the hotel owner a tremendous sum of money as a fine.

"Why don't we ask Tanik to command a full-on, underwater military analysis of what could be underneath the singular spot?"

Ishar's mouth was left open, impressed and shocked. How could he not have thought of that?! (Probably because Tanik was working on another mission, but he decided to ignore that thought.)

"I promise you Pratap, that will be the first thing I do once I get back to Aralam."

Naren nodded his head appreciatively, and started passing earpieces to everyone. "Do not take these out until I say so," he said. Ishar rolled his eyes. He was starting to do that a lot nowadays.

Pratap then left to load the last of the things in the car, and then everybody drove back to Aralam Village.

No matter how many times Ishar drove down this road, it seemed he couldn't get too much of the forest's beauty. Laughing and talking, the whole team got off and started walking in the direction of the cabin.

It was then that Ishar noticed something. His heart skipped a beat. The door of the cabin was slightly open, and through the darkness, a man stood, holding the army paper's in one hand.

The team had now become a maestro in operating with total silence. Ishar clenched his hand, and softly pushed the door open, checking to see whether it was an enemy ambush.

And then, to his most relieved but shocked surprise, stood Venkatesh, looking at the papers with a slight fear in his eyes.
