Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1 : Temporary Peace

On a sunny afternoon, where the sunlight shone slightly on the darkened library. Hayumi Knight had just finished tidying up the bookshelves. she stepped back to her reception desk.

"Ahhh what a day, I didn't expect it to go this well," she stretched her body and looked around.

"But it's boring too, it's really quiet here," Hayumi said with a bored expression.

Because she felt her work was done, Hayumi immediately opened the television hanging on the wall of the library, the television was turned on and immediately displayed the news anchor, but his expression looked very scared. He immediately read out a news story that looked like it was bad news.

"Alright viewers, there is a riot in the city centre involving the police and military, this riot happened 2 days ago but there is no exact information about what they are dealing with, obviously we will be back later with the latest news."

Irritated by the news, Hayumi switched off the television, but before she switched off the television, the camera clearly showed the silhouette of a giant monster that was eating one of the police officers.

"Boring, it must be politics again, I'm going home," she said as she placed the television remote on the table.

Hayumi immediately packed her things and prepared to go home, but Hayumi's phone suddenly rang so loudly that she was forced to pick up the phone.

"Hello, with Hayumi here." she said in a soft monetary tone.

Inside the phone, the person who called Hayumi started talking.

"Hayumi, are you still in the library?" the caller said kindly.

Hayumi immediately recognised the voice and it turned out that the person calling was Julian Knight, her brother.

"Oh it's brother, I'm about to close the library, what's wrong brother?" asked Hayumi with great concern.

Julian without further ado immediately asked Hayumi for help.

"Hayumi, can you please take the suitcase in the library warehouse?" said Julian pleadingly.

Hayumi was immediately surprised by her brother's request.

"It's in the storeroom, but there's only dusty books in there, I don't like it!" she said while glancing at the storeroom.

Julian immediately convinced Hayumi by offering 1 thing that her sister could not refuse.

"Come on Hayumi, I'm really busy, I'll treat you to a 2-bowl complete package of chicken ramen." he persuaded pleadingly.

Hearing her brother's offer, Hayumi immediately agreed to it, stretching her body a little she immediately stepped towards the warehouse.

"It's getting late, I'm being told to get things that I don't know what to use, where the warehouse lights are broken again." she muttered while walking towards the warehouse.

Hayumi entered the warehouse which looked dirty and messy, the warehouse seemed to have never been opened for decades, Hayumi's eyes glanced slightly at the pile of boxes that were piled up in the right corner of the warehouse, without further ado she headed there and removed all the boxes one by one, until finally a long suitcase was seen.

"Finally found it too, btw what's in this suitcase? this is the first time I've seen a suitcase this long, the shape of the suitcase is even stranger, but never mind the important thing is to find it, for the sake of ramen!" said Hayumi who immediately took the suitcase.

She left the warehouse with the suitcase and returned to the reception desk. She tucked her sleeves into her long black coat, turned the sign board that read closed and locked the library door.

"Complete chicken ramen, here I come!" he shouted excitedly.

Switching to a mysterious place, where the room was illuminated by moonlight and the darkness of the night adorned the room, a woman in a white dress was seen staring at a mirror that displayed the riots happening in the city centre.

"Those monsters now, are starting to go berserk," she murmured as she looked into the mirror.

She stared at a mirror that had a function like CCTV, the mirror immediately displayed a moment where 1 monster managed to kill 50 policemen and soldiers in a few seconds, where there was bloodshed everywhere.

"This cannot be allowed!" he raged.

From behind the darkness, a silhouette of a knight carrying a sword containing the Aura of power from the archeons appeared, he was about to speak to the woman.

"You look so anxious, is this chaos making you almost crazy?" said the knight, standing directly in front of the woman.

The woman felt the knight's presence, but that was not what she was feeling at the moment.

"I feel the light and hope of the Archeons of Light, but... It's not coming from him," she said as she shifted the mirror's surface.

The knight immediately reacted seriously but he still did not understand what the woman meant.

"I don't understand what you're saying, but I've guessed what you're thinking." he said, crossing his arms.

The woman stood up confidently, she immediately gave the news that she had found the last Aether descendant.

"I sense the last Aether descendant has found the light of Luminex, but looking at the current state of the reality world... she is very vulnerable to being attacked by other monsters," she worried.

The knight simply nodded and then questioned the next plan.

"So what are your plans now?"

The woman hopefully gave the mission to escort and rescue the last Aether descendant.

"Move immediately!, escort him here. The future heir to the aether seed of the Archeons of light is back!" she said while pointing at the knight.

After receiving the assignment, the knight immediately moved to leave the room, but under his cloak he smiled as if he had also known about it from the beginning.

Moving on to Hayumi where she was waiting for a taxi in front of the library while carrying the suitcase.

"It's really hot tonight when it's usually cold, weird," she muttered, looking around the street.

It didn't take long for the taxi to arrive and she got in.

"Take me to street no 15, sir," she said, sitting down and putting on the car's safety harness.

The taxi driver nodded and immediately stepped on the gas. In the middle of the road, the road was not as usual, many street lights were broken, and even worse, there were dead bodies everywhere.

"Emmm... Sir, how come this place feels gloomy?" he said, staring at the many corpses through the windscreen.

The driver was also surprised because he had never seen this situation before.

"I don't know either, I was passing by here this afternoon and it's still fine but now how come-" He fidgeted, seeing blood splattered along the road.

But the atmosphere turned tense when something moved quickly among the ruins of the building.

"Something's not right here," Hayumi muttered, remaining calm but she was starting to feel scared.

Suddenly a black monster with cracked skin, its eyes glowing red leapt from the rubble onto the windscreen of their car. The driver screamed and in a panic accidentally slammed the steering wheel towards the building which made them crash into the building.

But before that happened Hayumi immediately forced open the car door and threw herself out, not forgetting to still hold the suitcase that she had to take to her sister. she saw the driver was helpless and was immediately eaten by the monster.

"Damn this is bad!" she said, picking up the suitcase that had fallen earlier.

Hayumi immediately tried to run, but the monster's instincts were too sharp so he immediately chased Hayumi.

"Dammit she realised too soon!" she muttered while carrying the heavy suitcase.

The monster immediately tried to jump and pounce, but Hayumi managed to avoid it and ran towards a building, she entered one of the rooms to hide, not forgetting to close the door and then push the cupboard behind the door so that it could not be easily broken into.

But when Hayumi turned around she saw a little girl who was hiding behind the bed, she sobbed with trauma and tears.

Hayumi looked at the girl - her eyes were swollen from crying and her body was shaking like a leaf in a storm. The instinct to protect emerged in Hayumi.

"Hey don't be afraid... Big sister is here for you, ok?" said Hayumi, stroking the little girl's head and trying to give her a warm hug.

Hayumi soothed the little girl gently, but it wasn't long before the monster broke through the door of their room with its claws. The monster roared and immediately wanted to pounce on them, but Hayumi immediately held the little girl with her left hand and managed to dodge, the monster hit the window and fell down running out. Not wasting the opportunity, Hayumi and the little girl immediately left the building, because if they stayed there then the monster would come again.

"Damn him again!, this time bring a friend!." muttered Hayumi.

A chase ensued where Hayumi struggled to run and carry the little girl and a very important suitcase, but unfortunately Hayumi's foot tripped over a stone which caused her and the little girl to fall to the ground, Hayumi managed to get up but she saw the little girl being approached by the monster.

When the monster began to attack the little girl, Hayumi immediately ran towards the girl and pushed her so as not to get scratched by the monster, but instead Hayumi received severe scratches on her cheeks and back, and the suitcase she was carrying broke and fell to the ground due to frequent blows. from inside the box turned out to be an ancient sword with a yellow tsuba.

Pain radiating from his cheek, blood flowing freely as the sharp claws tore into his back, he looked at the girl and signalled her to run to a safe zone not far from where they were.

"Go ahead of that gate, that's the safe zone!" Hayumi said while pointing towards the safe zone.

The little girl didn't want to leave Hayumi, but because the monsters had started to approach so she was forced to obey Hayumi's words.

With blood already covering her right cheek and breathing heavily Hayumi had no choice but to fight, she stared at the sword.

"So that's the contents of the suitcase huh? Hyung-nim, you really saved me today," she muttered, trying to stand up with determination.

Hayumi immediately tried to run towards the sword, but by the time she reached it, the monster was already waiting for her.

"What the-" she screeched, Hayumi's eyes immediately widened.

The monster immediately attacked which immediately made Hayumi thrown and crashed into the building, the sword was still Hayumi grasped even though she was thrown away, Hayumi looked helpless and blood began to come out of her mouth.

The swarm of monsters began to appear and prepared to end Hayumi's life.

"I'm sorry big brother, it's like I'm not going home tonight," she said with resignation.

A drop of Hayumi's blood hit the blade of the sword which made it suddenly react.

"What the-" she muttered in a weak tone.

The sword immediately stuck in Hayumi's grasp, but suddenly she heard a mysterious whisper.

"The hope of light has been bequeathed to you... rid this world of darkness and strife."

Hayumi's eyes widened when she heard the mysterious whisper, she then tried to get up and raise her sword.

"I've never fought before, but I'll try!" she said, trying to aim her sword at the horde of monsters.

2 monsters immediately attacked at the same time, but it didn't take a second for them to be hit by consecutive slashes.

Unfazed, the monsters roared and began to rush at Hayumi. Unfortunately before they touched Hayumi they were already split into 2 pieces by Hayumi.

Hayumi swung her sword towards the monster's head even though she had great difficulty using her sword.

One by one the monsters fell, so that their very large and strong-looking mother appeared.

"Huh... my stamina is running low, but I won't let things end here!" Hayumi muttered while raising her sword.

Hayumi who was already very exhausted still forced herself to face the monster mother, a fierce battle ensued between the two of them, the Monster Mother still issued successive attacks, but managed to avoid Hayumi with difficulty.

"Of all the attacks I made, none of them could hurt her" she muttered while glancing at the monster mother's back, which signalled her weak point.

Suddenly the sword that Hayumi was holding reacted, the sword issued a silhouette of an angel that darted to slash the monster's body with precision, not wanting to waste the opportunity, Hayumi immediately darted behind the monster.

"Accept your punishment!" She shouted, immediately slashing at the monster's back, accompanied by light that began to spread into the monster's parent body.

Hayumi's slash severed the monster's head and the monster's body then exploded due to the light effects of the sword slash.

Hayumi finally managed to defeat the mother monster, but she felt her vision immediately blurred and her body weakened due to overwhelming fatigue.

"I... did it?" she muttered, the sword she was holding slipping from her grasp.

Hayumi smiled slightly, then still had time to see the beautiful night sky, before her eyes finally closed and her body began to collapse.

But before Hayumi's body fell to the ground, suddenly a mysterious black-robed person who had just arrived immediately caught her body.

"Sorry that I'm late... potential heir to the light," he said softly, then disappeared into the darkness of the night along with Hayumi's body and her sword.
