Chapter 1 - Old Lore

"The Known world" a phrase used by the scholars of the high Studmen order, they trace the world's age to some forty thousand years ago, some say it's older. The known world of the time is comprised of three whole continents and other bodies of lands across the seas, these events, is one focused on the WesternContinent of O'tmook, it's not the largest of the continents but by far the most chaotic. The continent is divided into twelve quarrelsome kingdoms, Principalities, Empires and other national powers; The Kingdom of Vor'ros, The Sith States of the Dragonlords, The Trading colonies of Nazaarion, The Ul'monian Freehold, The Principality Of Renvhorn, The Mage Provinces , The Dukkr Empire, The Renvhorn Kingdom, The Domain of the-mountain-folks, The Queendom Of Auraenor, The Sorcerer Kingdom of Garria and the most powerful of them all; The Holy Titious Empire. All these nations stand old and ruled by ancient families, some of which still have the blood of The First Kings flowing through their veins.

It is written in the ancient scribe of Dandylor of how man of old became man of today. In the old days man had no power, no magic. We had smarts yes, we had invention,we had beliefs but some thirty thousand years passed the gods warred. An earth shaking cataclysmic event fought between the Euloptus and Rhysojen gods of the Tition Order (An elite faction of the gods). It is Known as the The Great Celestial War, the order broke in two and warred for dominion over the heavens after Ern'Vaarg'Dull (Creation) passed to higher planes of existence, they chose O'tmook as their battlefield. For five millennia they warred until the loosing side (Euloptus) sought forces to aid them, but found no allies, the Euloptus gods in their desperation decided that they would make their allies. And so, the gods mated with man, bringing fourth a new specie part god-part man. The new Sion of the gods was as they hoped, mortal but powerful, capable of wielding magic, rune spells and godly weapons. These new beings were named in the gods tongue (Eulop) as the Vrushi (God's Children).

The war waged for another two thousand years until the era of the first kings, they were; Edmarys Godkin, Sozen Berllion, Daevina Batragan, Sillan Sunburst, Werras Rygan, Onron Godbourne, Yerrick Xox. These famed individuals are also remembered as The Seven Sages. They became commanders in the Holy Squadron, their might and power allowed them to rise high and fast in the ranks, for they could use rare attributes, such as; Creation magic, Chrono magic, Vygar arts, Particle Magic, Spacial magic, The Dobron eyes (Foresight), and Vailed magic, these were powers even rare in the ranks of the gods. The two thousand year war saw the population of the Vrushi greatly diminished and battered, and so the seven sages sought to end the war and they did in the battle of Mahardos; slaying gods and man alike until the forces of the Rhysojen were defeated, and in retreat. Upon the end of the Celestial war the gods returned to Heaven but not before giving their most faithful children dominion over the lands, thus 'The First Kings' were made. The Scholars of the high Studmen order dubbed the dates of all that transpired after the war as "After the coming (AC)" and before the war as "Before the coming (BC). After the war, the seven sages founded their own kingdoms and empires across the continent and many others followed, beginning the first age of the Ten-thousand-nations. Some of the sages lived for over four hundred years, so much flowed the blood of the gods in their veins, such a blood still flows unbroken in some royal families to this day.

The nobility and royalty we know today are descendants of the Vrushi which is why magic is somewhat limited to the highborn populous. Any lowborn who may show magical aptitude could trace their bloodline back to a bastard of a noble house.

The sages Founded their Kingdoms and took their siblings in marriage for magical aptitudes are kept stronger and untainted through the practice of incestuous union. It is practiced mostly between royalty and nobility.

And now we return to O'tmook of the year 23,478 AC.

The eastern side of the continent where the Titious Empire holds sway of over half of the Territory. It is a peaceful side of the continent. The last Godkin-Conquest was over decades ago during the reign of Emperor Doltwin III, his foes named him Doltwin the Dread. The North is the most chaotic and bloody due to the ten year war between The Vor'rossi Kingdom, ruled over by the Evarlars, the griffins. The kingdom dominates the north, holding over a third of the northern territories in rule. While in perseverance through time and ages, the ever primitive domains of the mountain Clans, stood north in the north, it's accumulation of petty fiefdoms only surviving as long as it has because of the natural protection the Fortwit mountains gives them. No invading army can enter the plains of Fortwit itself without passing through the Pale Passage (A narrow path of white earth and grey rocks leading through the surrounding mountains into the mountain domains). Understanding it's advantage the mountainfolk have thrown back would-be conquerors for generations, never attempting to conquer others themselves and thus falling behind in advancements of civilization. The decade long war had nibbled at the Vor'rossi coffers and military standing, forcing them to seek aid in order to end the war. The two great powers of the North and East (The Evarlar and Godkin dynasties), had been allies before, decades passed now. Then it's two rulers came together to build a bridge to promote trade between the two countries. Remembering that good will and the fact that Vor'rossi and Titioussi had not been at war for over three centuries, the Vor'rossi king was confident in their aid, and thus he sent his eldest son and heir to acquire it.
