Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 The Four Kingdoms

The closer he got he can see irrefutable damage to the castle structures as the foundation and walls were blown apart, chunks of dark magic had seeped into the cracks from the blast a little bit ago. He looked towards the top of the wall as weird humanoid lizards were watching the spectacle of dark magic going on towards the grove. These people watching all the commotion going on outside made Conri start to bark at them, and the closer he got the louder he got. A few onlookers spotted him as he was closer to the city gates and they nervously fled to retrieve the captain of the Guard; oh, and did he ever make a show of his appearance as he approached. There, a fat, Iguana-looking person with an armored petticoat, a jewel encrusted monocle, and a posh, snooty demeanor waddled out of the gate and waited for him. Conri slows down to a halt at the city gates, the thing looked at him sideways with one eye and was moving his monocle as one would a magnifying glass to peer into this strange wolf's face. The General; never seeing his kind before, saw that he wasn't a dog, but did look like one. He asked in a very posh; baroque manner "Friend or fooooe?????" asked the Iguana "Friend, we need your help our clan is being attacked and we, - um, what are you doing?" As he watched the weird Iguana searching him and then stopped right back where he started from. Conri was going to continue, but before he could say anything, the Iguana snapped something pink out of his mouth and then held a piece of a parchment that looked like the letter his dad wrote, as the Iguana looked slowly down at the letter, then quickly snapping back at Conri, he in a very snooty attitude said "I don't know of your clan, or of you for that matter" still readjusting his monocle looking at the parchment and sniffling as his allergies started to flare "Which Kingdom did you say you are hailing from, whatever you are?" As the Iguana sneezes. Conri, being very quite impatient and annoyed "Our clan has no Ki-" The Captain scoffed interrupting Conri which made him question if this thing was a man or a woman "Haaaa!!! Should have thought of that before ever coming here dooooog." "I'm not a do-" as Conri began to explain his kind, the Iguana interrupted him again very dramatically "Ugh, I do not caaaarrreee, and if I do not caaaarrreee neither does the king; it's not our problem. So, do yourself a favor and go about your business doggy, and leave us to ours, yes? Ta-ta!!" As Conri just stands there completely appalled and very confused with this reptilian ass, "Shoo mongrel, you're enflaming my delicate sinuses." Waving him rudely off the property as he sneezed and wiped his nose "Ta-ta." the Iguana waved his snotty handkerchief to say goodbye the droplets flew in the air from the handkerchief and fell before Conri, he moved his paw out of the way to avoid it and felt disgusted. The General turned towards the gates and started waddling back while sneezing "But-" Conri still trying to insist, as the Iguana continues waddling back inside its gates "I Don't caaaarrreee" as it sung the words "We need Help!!" Conri shouted at the captain but was a bit too late. Conri extremely frustrated, puffed his nose in disbelief and continued running towards the next kingdom murmuring to himself while he was pacing, in his run "Who does he think he is? Freaking rude as hell, that's what he is. I am not a dog." Conri takes a deep breath and just redirected his focus again and sprinted towards the next kingdom. The next kingdom was absolutely torn up from the blast, the city gates were hanging off the hinges, and some parts of the stone wall were laying on the ground. Conri saw a huge baboon clearing the debris and chucking it to the side from the other side of the wall as if it was throwing a light piece of paper; it caught notice of Conri and watched him before he was out of sight. Conri thought to himself "Gawdang!!!! He was huge!" as he was pulling up to the gates a few anthropomorphic apes, monkeys, and gorillas were helping to clear the debris, some were bringing water and food to those who were hit by the blast… As Conri entered inside the gates and was looking at all the shops and stalls partially destroyed and in disarray. A group of riders came in on horses from behind, not seeing Conri as he rolled out of the way. "Move out of the way!!!! Clear the Road!!!!" the first rider shouted as he came in, followed by others. A few more riders had passed before Conri was noticed "Hey Captain, I found something!!!!! Come here!!! looking at Conri. "Halt!!!!" as the captain ordered out to his fellow guards giving the hand signal to stop before falling out of formation and heading over to the rider that spotted Conri; the rider pointed at him as the captain came closer into view. Conri; who was looking a little worse for ware, patiently waited, "Did you have something to do with all of this?" asked the captain as he stopped his horse and faced him. Conri; ignoring the captain's question, quickly responded, "I have a letter for you from my Clan who have been living on the outskirts of your kingdoms. Here, please take this." As Conri reaches for the parchment in his knapsack with his mouth and gives it to the rider as he reached out to take it. "It will explain everything." Conri continues as the guard read the parchment first, he then takes a pause to think and gives it to the captain "Where is your encampment?" asked the captain before reading the letter himself "Northwest of this position." Answered Conri "Ah, straight to the point, a man of action." Slightly taking a liking to Conri's answer, he reads the letter and ponders "Yes sir!!" responds Conri. "As much as I would love to take this fight on with your clan, we simply cannot spare the manpower to help in your fight now, as we are cleaning up our own city. Who is this Remus Lupine? He's being formal, is he a King?" "That's my Clan's Leader and my father." answered Conri. The captain looking shocked "Oh? He sent you out while fighting a battle? You look like a capable fighter." "I am, I'm one of his generals." The captain is now extremely curious "Are you really? Interesting." As he looked to the rider left of him, the rider whispers in his ear, and then nodded "Well General, you're in luck, we'll be able to spare some of our supplies and be your allies. As far as shelter goes; as you can see around you, we took a massive hit, so we cannot provide any at this time." "I understand" replied Conri "Any amount of help is very much appreciated to my clan." Conri added, excitedly wagging his white tails "I like this, General" said the Rider laughing at Conris response and shaking his finger at Conri; the captain motions the Rider to settle down. "I'm sure you have other letters to deliver." As he looks at Conri's knapsack "Yes Captain" Conri answered "Be about your business General. Rest assured, we will be sending out aid momentarily to your encampment." "Thank you, Captain" as a sigh of relief came from Conri "Be safe, General." As the Captain returns to the front and the Rider returns to formation "Riders!!!! We have been tasked with a particularly important mission!!!!" as Conri turns to leave he noticed the rider waving goodbye to him, Conri took a slight bow of his head and exited the gates. "Alright, two down, and three to go." Conri said to himself. He continued to run, but while he was, there were shadows on the ground matching his pace. As he looked over towards the grove it was being more active as if the forest was being drained of its magic, but no one was near him; in fact, nothing else was near him at all. "What the hell?" said Conri, as the two shadows now have doubled the size of his body as he looked to his right, then left. "WHAT IS YOUR NAME?!?!?!" he heard loud from above. "Are the gods speaking to me?!" he thought "Conri!!!!" He shouted back but then tripled his pace. As the shadows could barely keep up "HEY WAIT, WE JUST WANT TO TALK!!!! SLOW DOWN!!!" Conri replied "I'm busy!!!! Leave me alone!!!" another voice from above, replied "Conri, my name is Chelsea!!! Look up!!!" Two massive Female birds were right on top of him. "A Phoenix and a Griffin, whoa!!!" he thought to himself; before then, he had only seen and heard about them in folk tales and stories. "We are from a nearby kingdom; can you just please slow down?!?! We have been watching you since Saurian!!!" the Phoenix yelled. Conri; a bit winded, started slowing down and catching his breath as the two gorgeous birds landed before him. "My name is Chelsea" the gryphon breathlessly said in a chipper high-pitched voice, "And I'm the twin sister, Brianna" said the Phoenix, she had a voice an octave lower than her sister, but with more sarcasm. "We are The Princesses of Aviara, Tah-Dah!!!!" doing a weird introduction in unison with a smile, shaking their wings, while internally they are just dying inside. Conri just sits there looking at them unimpressed and simply confused. The twins dropped the act and started to exasperate trying to make out words but sucking in air they exclaimed "Holy crap!!!.... Your fast!!!" as Chelsea was panting "Give me a moment, I'll be with you in just a sec." Conri looked at the Brianna who was heaving over and putting up her finger in the air as "in one moment." Conri responded "Excuse me girls, but I need to go, there's a battle going on." Chelsea responded still a bit exasperated "Oh, we know! It shook our Tree and left a few sustaining damages, terrifying!!!" "Tree? I see no-" Conri replied as Brianna interrupted him as she pointed towards their home, a giant tree as massive as a mountain with branches outstretched as far as the other two kingdoms. Conri whistled while Chelsea continues. "We have been watching you since you left Saurian..." Conri still confused and looks at Brianna for help "Sis, he is not from around here." Said Brianna. Chelsea sighed "The freakishly arrogant lizard people?" Conri realizing it "Oooohhh, oh those guys, yeah." "Well, our parents have been watching you since you left there and asked us to follow you." Chelsea explained "Soooo, what are you doing?" "I am delivering massages from my clan and seeing as you are princesses from Ave… Avar… Aviara? can you bring one to your parents for me?" Brianna takes the letter out of the knapsack and reads it "You weren't supposed to read it Bri!!!! Its official business meant for dad" exclaimed Chelsea. "Yeah, we need to give this too dad, Chels… This is bad. Where is your camp from here?" As Chels was fighting to read it too with Bri snatching it away from her Conri responded "Ladies, ladies, please stop fighting over it and give it to your dad for me, our camp is north of your tree." Bri nodded as she was still fighting off Chelsea, "We will." "I've got to run and deliver more messages still" said Conri. "We will too" as Chelsea gave up and agreed too, as they began to fly off with the letter in hand, he could hear Chelsea asking what it said with Brianna refusing to tell her sister. "Just two more." As he turned around, he can see the ancient Dryad on top of her grove Canopy "Focus Conri" he said to himself. Suddenly, her voice boomed, "MENING BARCHA KUCHLARIM, ORQAGA QAYTING!!!" The ancient dark Dryad darted back and forth in frustration, shrieking and cursing as she watched her forces fall back into the grove. "Hey!!! General Corni!!!" the captain called out to him as they were returning from dropping off aid at the encampment. "Its Conri!!!!" he proclaimed, "Yeah? Oops, sorry, but listen, we dropped off the supplies!!!! They aren't looking good, and they need you badly!!! We couldn't find Remus, but found your sister, Naani?" Conri replied "YES!!!" "Anyways, they are safe for now, but I don't know how much longer they're going to hold out here on their own. She also told me to tell you, and I quote "To move your ass big brother!!" "Thank you, I really needed to hear that." Conri laughed slightly "You people have weird customs. Anyways, I wish I could do more, but we have our own problems back home! Good Luck!!!!!!" yelled the Captain "Thank-" as Conri began to answer back to the Captain, the Dryad spotted Conri and the Captain with his riders, she shifted and moved on to their side of the grove and pierced the air when she shrieked; they had to cover their ears. "MENDAN BOSHQA QOCHIB QUTULA OLMAYSIZ KONRI!!!! MENING GOBLINLARIM UNI MENGA OLIB KELISHADI!!!!!" as the Dryad said with her bellowing voice "GET OUT OF HERE, CAPTAIN!!!! SHE ONLY WANTS ME!!!! yelled Conri "I wish we'd met under better circumstances general, Hiya!!!!!" The captain kicked his horse as his riders followed him back to their kingdom. Hundreds of Goblins came out of the grove like little cockroaches, charging towards Conri with their beady little eyes and their disgusting deformities; they were on his tail. The captain looked back to check on his riders following suit but only saw a glimpse of Conri's tails and hundreds of Goblins pouring out of the grove; the feeling of helping him was overwhelming, but he knew he could not. Conri picked up the pace, switching from his normal run to his wolf run as he looked to the left of him. The Dryad kept up her pace atop the canopy as if she was zeroing in on him, "Yer silkinganda u sizni yutib yuboradi va siz nihoyat meniki bo'lasiz!!!!" she chanted as more goblins were crawling out of the cracks of the ground, goblin archers started to emerge with poisoned arrows aimed towards Conri and fired multiple shots, but nothing could touch him, even as one shot past his snout!!! He could see the black acid bubbling and oozing right on the tip of the arrow, as it rotated, he was darting around like a madman. "SEN MENING ITIMSAN!!!!" the Dryad shrieked and cackled "SIZ VA OTANGIZ!!!!!" she continued to mock him as he was trying not to die, he was about three hundred meters away from the next kingdom and had started to run out of stamina, but he pushed through the pain that was erupting inside. "Come on, so close" now at two hundred meters he kept pushing and pushing himself, for his family, for his life as he was about to give up and stop running; he heard something coming at him from a distance, and fast, the closer it got it was almost like a stampede! Valiant Kat warriors were holding their lances in the downward position, fluffy Kat wizards were getting ready to hop upon their ponies as they were signaling a spell for fire, and small miniature rogue Kats stood at the ready with their daggers. Meeting head on towards Conri "Help!!!!!!!" Conri shouted at them as the goblins were closing in on him while he was still running but losing his pace. A female Kat officer cried out to him, "We are here wolf!!!! Get dow- *gasp* No!!!, before she could finish, she watched as one of the goblins had shot Conri clean through his arm. As Conri screamed in pain, he came down on that same arm mid-stride. His massive wolf body somersaulted in the air and came tumbling down on his back kicking up a huge dust ball as rocks flew in many directions, with a loud thud, he slid. The Kat officer jumped off her horse at full sprint landing elegantly on all fours and she scrambled to his side holding his head feeling for a pulse; the rest of the formation kept going on without her. "BOTS'Y VARRVATS!!!!" as the wizards in their robes summoned fire spells there was a string of endless fire and heat, the assassin-like rogues jumped off their horses screaming something mad while whirling around their cutlery in the air before stabbing the goblins in their backs, slicing their throats and puncturing their gullets, bouncing on them one by one, the valiant knights impaled and trampled over; if not, the rest of them that was still alive. The goblins fell back towards the grove in reduced numbers as the Dryad was still in her canopy watching it all unfold, livid, but guessing and planning her next move.
