Chapter 52 - Chapter 51: Leah’s Dilemma

Leah felt deep thoughts weighing on her mind while spending time in her private living space. The offer Marcus had presented to her kept playing through her thoughts repeatedly. It felt like a haunting melody she couldn't dismiss. The promise he gave her ensured her freedom from dependency and respect while liberating her from Jacob's persistent doubts about her worth as a Luna. Her heart hurt for the love she had with Jacob, though, despite the attraction of such an escape.

She looked out the window, seeing the castle illuminated by silver light from the moon's feeble shine. Her feelings fought a battle inside of her. Marcus was strong, self-assured, and steadfast in his conviction that she was deserving of better. But Jacob had been everything to her. She had suffered for him, fought with him, and loved him with all her heart. But when uncertainty clouded their relationship all the time, was love enough?

The soft knock on the door took Leah by surprise. The moment Henrietta entered the room her quick gaze took in Leah's emotional state. She stood with her arms crossed and questioned "So you're considering a change?"

Leah let out a sigh. "I have no idea what to do Henrietta."

Even though Marcus makes sense, Jacob still has my heart.

Henrietta took her hand and sat next to her. "So you have your response. Leah, love is worth fighting for even though it's not always easy. If Jacob is your partner, you must demonstrate to him that, despite his misgivings, you are here to stay. And perhaps he isn't deserving of you if he is too blind to recognize your value."

Leah gave Henrietta's remarks time to register. "And if Jacob never fully accepts me as his Luna?"

Henrietta gave her hand a squeeze. "After that, you will need to decide. "Avoid making this decision when driven by either fear or angry emotions. You should choose this path because your heart truly wants it."

Leah took one deep breath before closing her eyes. She needed to speak with Jacob to reveal her emotions while forcing him to face his hesitation.

Perhaps Marcus was correct; perhaps she had a future somewhere else if he was unable to accept her.

Leah decided as the night became darker. She would talk to Jacob tomorrow. Even though their love had lasted so long, they still had to confront this challenge together. She would have the clarity she required in one way or another.
