Reno muttered inwardly as he quickened his strokes, the old dinghy slicing through the waves with newfound urgency, heading toward the signal his senses had picked up.
Just a few hours ago, he'd been an ordinary university graduate back on Blue Star.
He had big plans—maybe even buying out the Beautiful Country someday. But before he could even begin chasing that dream, a blinding mud-covered truck came out of nowhere and plowed straight into him.
Next thing he knew, he woke up on this creaky little boat.
Before he could even process his surroundings, a mechanical voice rang out inside his head, distant and echoing.
Once the messages finished playing, Reno finally understood:
He'd transmigrated.
To the world of One Piece.
Luckily, his system had awakened along with him.
Though… it was a bit unusual.

Snatching one away from them?
Now that would be thrilling.
Of course, Reno reminded himself he was a man of principle.
Strength came first. The girls… were just a bonus.
At least, that's what he told himself.
It was almost as if the system knew he was weak as hell, because it kindly provided a starter gift pack.
And when he opened it—
Reno grinned.
If the beginner rewards were this generous, then he was absolutely conquering every single one of them!

In a flash, he'd gone from powerless rookie to Marine Rear Admiral level.
Once he'd gotten a feel for his explosive growth and calmed the excitement in his heart, Reno started looking for a way forward.
With Observation Haki active, he steered the boat across the sea, no destination in mind.
Then—
After ten or so minutes, his Haki picked something up.
Two pirate crews were clashing fiercely nearby, locked in brutal combat.
The sounds of battle and cannon fire thundered across the waves.
Even from a distance, Reno could smell the iron tang of blood carried on the sea breeze.
Most people would've turned and fled in the opposite direction.
But for Reno?
It was like a lighthouse in the night.
He sped up, heading straight for the source of the fighting.
As he drew closer, the noise began to fade, but the scent of blood only grew stronger.
Leaping onto the deck of one of the ships, Reno frowned.
Dozens of bodies lay sprawled across the deck, blood and gore splattered everywhere. Crimson liquid seeped into the cracks of the wood, dripping down into the lower hold.
Both crews had fought themselves into mutual destruction.
Not a soul was left breathing.
"Tch… Couldn't they have held out just a little longer?" Reno clicked his tongue, disappointed.
In this vast, empty sea, he'd finally run into someone—only for them all to die before he could ask a single question.
He activated Observation Haki again, probing deeper into the ships.
Then—his eyes lit up.
He stepped forward and headed into the cabin.

Captain's Quarters.
"It's mine—all mine!"
"I really hit the jackpot this time!"
A slender, curvy figure was practically pouncing on the piles of treasure scattered throughout the room.
Her bag was already bursting at the seams.
Reno silently arrived at the doorway, eyes narrowing.
One glance at that orange hair and perfect figure, and he instantly recognized her.
Who else could it be but the Cat Burglar herself—Nami?
The moment he identified her, Reno also figured out where (and when) he was: East Blue, sometime before Luffy had met Nami.
Nami, lost in her greed, hadn't noticed she was being watched.
Her pupils practically glowed with Berry signs.
Honestly, her luck was insane.
She'd only planned to sneak into one pirate crew and rob them blind—
but stumbled into a war between two of them.
Just the loot on this ship alone was worth 10 million Berries.
In a bad year, that was what she earned over twelve months.
And that wasn't even counting the other ship.
This haul alone was worth the risk.
With this, she was that much closer to her goal of saving up 100 million Berries and freeing Cocoyashi Village from Arlong.
Her smile grew wider as she packed up the last of the treasure.
The bundle she hoisted was nearly as big as she was.
She turned to leave—
And locked eyes with Reno.
"Ahhh!"
A sharp, high-pitched cry.
Caught off guard, Nami's expression collapsed in panic, and her sack of treasure thudded to the floor.
"Nice haul you've got there, Nami," Reno said casually, lips curled in a faint smile as he looked at the trembling girl.
He had to admit—she was brave.
It was one thing to rob merchant ships,
but pirate ships?
If they'd caught her, they would've torn her apart.
"D-don't get the wrong idea! I was just—just trying to move the treasure somewhere safe before the others took it!"
Nami frantically waved her hands.
She'd been through storms before. Her mind spun fast.
And she whipped up an excuse just as quickly.
Reno chuckled. "Relax. Everyone on both ships is already dead. I've got nothing to do with them."
