Chapter 5 - • Chapter 5: That Power Is Completely Irrational! •

A small 'beep' sound was heard when Kazuki placed the access card against the electronic panel beside the door numbered 1167. The small light on the panel changed from red to green, followed by a soft click as the automatic lock opened. Kazuki gently pushed the carved wooden door, allowing Hanah to enter first before following behind her.

"Wow, this is bigger than I expected," said Hanah with a tone of amazement as they stepped into the hotel room.

Warm light immediately welcomed them as the automatic lights turned on by themselves. The room was far more spacious and luxurious than they had imagined. In the center of the room was a king-size bed with cream-colored satin sheets. Four large pillows and two small pillows were neatly arranged at the head of the bed, with a thick blanket perfectly folded at the foot of the bed.

On both sides of the bed were small tables made of polished mahogany wood, each with an antique-style bedside lamp that emitted a soft golden light. On the right side of the room, there was a long burgundy sofa that looked soft and comfortable, facing a large window that displayed the night view of the city.

The walls of the room were covered with wallpaper featuring subtle floral patterns in cream and gold colors, creating a warm and luxurious atmosphere. The floor was covered with a thick dark brown carpet that muffled their footsteps. In the corner of the room was a large wardrobe and a dressing table with a medium-sized oval mirror.

A small door on the left side of the room seemed to lead to the bathroom. Even from where she stood, Hanah could see glimpses of gleaming modern bathroom fixtures through the slightly open door.

Kazuki walked toward the long sofa located near the window. He placed his school bag on the soft surface of the sofa, then sat down beside it.

"I think I can sleep on this sofa," said Kazuki while patting the sofa cushion, testing its comfort. "So you can sleep on the bed," he explained with a flat but considerate tone.

Hanah frowned, her facial expression showing concern. She looked at the sofa which, although it appeared comfortable, was clearly not designed as a bed. Then her gaze shifted to the king-size bed that was clearly more than enough for two people.

"Eh, is that really okay?" asked Hanah with a worried tone. "What if you wake up tomorrow and your body feels uncomfortable?"

The sofa did look soft, but sleeping in a half-sitting position or lying down with folded legs would certainly make the body ache the next day. Hanah didn't want Kazuki to experience that.

"Don't worry," Kazuki answered briefly, his expression remaining flat as usual. He didn't seem to be too concerned about his own comfort.

Hanah bit her lower lip, hesitating for a moment. She didn't feel comfortable letting Kazuki sleep on the sofa while she enjoyed the luxurious bed alone. However, sharing a bed with a young man—even if it was Kazuki whom she had known as a quiet classmate—made her cheeks feel warm with embarrassment.

"Uhh," Hanah murmured softly, finally making a decision. She walked to the bed and placed her school bag right in the middle of the bed, creating a sort of physical barrier.

"You must sleep on this side," said Hanah, pointing to the right side of the bed while she would take the left side. "This way, I think it's enough for a boundary," she explained with a slightly nervous voice, her cheeks still blushing red.

Kazuki looked at the arrangement Hanah made for a few seconds, appearing slightly surprised by the solution she offered. However, that expression was quickly replaced with his characteristic calmness.

"Uhh, whatever you say," he answered in a neutral tone, showing neither objection nor particular pleasure.

The young man then turned his attention to his school bag. He took out something that made Hanah's eyes widen in surprise—a modern glossy black smartphone with three cameras on the back. Its design looked very sophisticated.

"Hey, you brought a phone to school!" exclaimed Hanah in shock, pointing at the smartphone in Kazuki's hand. "Didn't the teacher say not to bring phones?"

Indeed, their school had strict regulations about bringing electronic devices. Students were prohibited from bringing smartphones to school to prevent distractions during lessons. Violations of this rule usually resulted in confiscation of the device and a parent call.

"They don't know, so it's fine," Kazuki replied casually, shrugging his shoulders slightly. His tone of voice indicated that he didn't care much about that school rule.

"You really..." Hanah shook her head, half annoyed and half impressed by Kazuki's attitude of daring to break the rules.

Kazuki pressed the power button on the side of the smartphone, but the screen remained dark. He frowned, trying several more times but with the same result.

"Ah, seems like the battery is dead," he murmured. "In that case, let's try with that..."

Kazuki appeared focused, his eyes staring sharply at the smartphone in his hand. Although his lips didn't move, Hanah could see intense concentration in his eyes, as if he was communicating with the device through his mind.

His power is a power that is completely irrational. The way to use this power is simply by thinking.

A few moments later, something surprising happened. The smartphone screen suddenly lit up brightly, displaying the manufacturer's logo followed by a startup animation. Hanah, who was observing from the bed, could clearly see what happened next—the battery indicator in the upper right corner of the screen showed an infinity symbol (∞) instead of a normal percentage.

Kazuki had manipulated or arranged his phone's battery to become unlimited, an ability that clearly violated the most basic laws of physics.

"Ah, seems like there's no network here!" complained Kazuki after his smartphone was fully on. He checked the signal indicator which showed a cross mark, indicating that no connection was available.

The young man frowned, appearing to be thinking hard. "Does this city not have a network?" he murmured, more to himself than to Hanah. "No, I think this city has a network, but it's different from my original world. If that's the case, let's try to do that..."

"What do you want to do?" asked Hanah who was now sitting cross-legged on the bed, looking with curiosity at Kazuki and his smartphone.

Kazuki didn't answer directly. His eyes focused back on the smartphone in his hand, intense concentration radiating from his gaze.

*If there's no network here, I'll just create my own network,* he thought, an idea that seemed impossible even for the most advanced technology in their original world.

For others, what Kazuki was thinking was completely irrational. Even in their original world with the latest technology, one couldn't simply create a telecommunications network from nothing without supporting infrastructure. However, for Kazuki with his reality manipulation power or his irrational power, it seemed possible.

Kazuki's power was indeed beyond normal human logic. The ability to manipulate, change, or arrange reality according to his will was something more like the ability of a mythological being than a supernatural power commonly found in fantasy stories.

Hanah observed with amazement when Kazuki once again used his power. He appeared to be manipulating his smartphone—or more precisely, changing or arranging how the smartphone worked so it could function without relying on conventional network infrastructure.

Within seconds, the signal indicator on Kazuki's smartphone changed from a cross mark to full bars, showing a very strong connection. The smartphone screen displayed the name of an operator that never existed in their world—"∞NetK"—with data speed showing an impossible number.

"Success," said Kazuki with a satisfied tone, a thin smile carved on his usually expressionless face.

Hanah looked amazed, unable to hide her surprise. She had witnessed Kazuki's ability to create gold coins from nothing, but seeing him manipulate advanced technology like a smartphone to function in a world that didn't even have electricity (except in this strange hotel) was something completely beyond her understanding.

"Kazuki," said Hanah softly, her voice trembling slightly with amazement. "Your power... how far can you actually manipulate reality? And how did you get such power?"

Hanah walked toward the sofa and stared at Kazuki's smartphone screen with disbelief. The signal indicator showed full connection, with the operator name "∞NetK" which clearly never existed in their world. The internet browser opened smoothly, displaying a familiar search page, as if they were still in their original world and not in a foreign world with medieval technology.

While Kazuki began browsing the internet casually, Hanah's mind spun rapidly, trying to understand the implications of what she had just witnessed.

*His power is completely irrational,* thought Hanah, still fixated on the impossible sight before her. *If someone from our original world knew about this power, who knows what would happen to him. The government might detain him for research, or technology companies would compete to recruit him... or worse.*

Hanah's imagination ran wild, imagining all the terrible possibilities that could happen if Kazuki's power became public knowledge. Secret laboratories, inhumane experiments, or utilizing his power for military purposes... Hanah shuddered thinking about it.

"Kazuki," Hanah finally dared to ask, her voice soft but serious. "Actually... what is the name of this power of yours? And how did you come to possess it?"

Kazuki shifted his gaze from the smartphone screen, looking at Hanah with his black eyes. He was silent for a moment, as if considering whether to answer honestly or not.

"I don't know," he finally answered, his tone flat as usual. "I myself don't know what this power is called."

Kazuki lowered his smartphone to his lap, his eyes gazing out the hotel window, toward the full moon.

"I've had this power since I was little," he continued, his voice sounding slightly nostalgic. "And I think there are many people in the world who can do what I do."

Kazuki said it with an innocent face, as if the fact that there were other people with the ability to manipulate reality was a common thing, like saying there are many people who can play the piano or swim.

"What do you mean there's someone who can do that!" she exclaimed, her voice volume increasing due to extraordinary shock. Fortunately, the hotel walls seemed thick enough so there was no need to worry about disturbing guests in the next room.

Kazuki's facial expression showed a bit of confusion, as if surprised to see Hanah's reaction which he thought was excessive. He tilted his head slightly, his black eyebrows raised.

"You don't know?" he asked, with a little astonishment in his voice. "In our world, there are also people who have powers. But it seems the authorities in our world keep it secret."

"What do you mean?" asked Hanah, looking at Kazuki seriously. "In other words, in our world there are also several people who have powers?"

Kazuki nodded casually.

"Yes," he answered briefly. He looked back at his smartphone for a moment, checking something on the screen before continuing. "For me, this power is ordinary. I think there are still many people who are stronger than me."

His facial expression remained innocent, showing neither arrogance nor pretense. Just pure sincerity from someone who truly believed that the supernatural ability he possessed was something ordinary.

Anger and frustration suddenly ignited within Hanah. Not because she didn't believe Kazuki, but precisely because she was beginning to believe—and the implications of that belief were too great to accept easily.

"What do you mean your power is ordinary, huh?!" exclaimed Hanah, her voice rising. "Your power is clearly completely irrational, you know!!!"

Hanah's purple eyes flashed with anger, her breath slightly panting due to surging emotions. She pointed at Kazuki's smartphone which was still displaying an internet connection that should be impossible in this world.

"You can create objects from nothing!" she continued, pointing at the gold coins Kazuki had created earlier. "You can manipulate technology to function in a world without supporting infrastructure! You can even make batteries become unlimited, violating the most fundamental law of conservation of energy!"

Hanah shook her head, frustrated with Kazuki's casual attitude toward the extraordinary ability he possessed. "And you consider that 'ordinary'? Then what do you consider extraordinary? Creating a new galaxy?"

Kazuki was silent, looking at Hanah who stood trembling before him.

"Really, I think it's ordinary," he answered with his flat face.

"You!!!"
